I have IN2023 latest OTA oxygen OS 11.0.1.1.INI11BA.
After rooting on magisk canary (as well as beta) I can neither enable gestures nor hide the Navbar (in system buttons and gestures). (see picture)
Hold powerbutton to open the menu also doesn't work (it simple turns the power off, changing to google assistant does work)
How to solve this, did I do something wrong or is it a bug?

What modules have you got installed??
I noticed my center clock mod broke gestures too.
Also if you have frozen or uninstalled the OnePlus launcher this too breaks gestures.
Chances are it's a mod that broke it or freezing the OOS launcher..
But then again it's only just came out so who knows what's going on at the moment

Thanks for the reply. The centre clock mod works fine. I use nova launcher and indeed freezing the OOS launcher when switching to it
It all happens before any mod is installed.
Your answer sugests there's a bug in Magisk comparing to the latest OTA

In regards to the centre clock mod no it's due to the apks used not being the most up to date.
In regards to your issue, the only way to find out what it is is to remove modules then try again. If it goes away then install one at a time, obviously unfreeze the OOS launcher too

Maybe you've been to quick: I wrote it happens before any mod is set. It doesn't happen without root. (and everything else is the same)
As long as I'm the only one I have to start from scratch, otherwise I'll wait till a solution is found. (I guess from John Wu)

Oh really??
So you're not running any modules, and no other mods or changes?
Then youre alone with this problem..
It's possible that some modules were left behind before the update. Beyond that I'm not sure buddy, mines working fine unless I make the aforementioned changes.

Bit of a long shot but try this
1. Connect your phone to your computer.
2. Reboot the phone, then during the boot animation have this command ready and run via ADB.
adb wait-for-device shell magisk --remove-modules
3. Reboot, cycle the gestures to nav bar and see if it works.
That'll eliminate any left over modules, just incase, even if they're disabled from magisk they can still be left behind, have seen this a few times.
solved

Allright, I've for some days ago rooted my device and I have started customizing it, getting some cool modules and overall cool root programs.
And now heres the problem...
I downloaded Gravity Box and started mixing a bit with the Pie Controls settings, and I managed to somehow delete/remove my Nav bar / soft keys. So I have to use the Pie Controls now, which I really dont like. I have googled a bit and tried to fix it myself but I just cant seem to fix it.
I dont have a clue how to fix this so any helpful replies are welcomed. And yes, I am a noob.

Okey, I dont have a special rom, I just have the stock one. However, how do I dirty flash?
I may be wrong but I believe if you just uninstall xposed and gravity box and reboot you SHOULD be good... Im pretty sure. When I uninstall a module it always just un does anything the module was doing and it returns to normal.
Sent from my VS980 4G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Just deactivate the module and reboot. No need to uninstall.
Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.
Fixed by just disabling the module, eheheh. :$
Thanks for all the help!
Prerequisites:
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked
Make sure you are rooted and have latest SuperSU installed
Make sure you have the latest TWRP installed as your recovery
Once the prerequisites are complete you may proceed at you own risk.
Download Xposed 3.1.1
Apkmirror link
Install Xposed 3.1.1 FIRST
(Do not flash Xposed first or you might bootloop!)
Download the uninstaller (xposed-uninstaller-20160829-arm64.zip) from here.
Direct link
Download the installer (xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip) from here.
Direct link
Transfer the files downloaded above to your phone if downloaded from PC.
(Skip this if all files have been downloaded from your 1+3t)
Reboot to TWRP
(Press the volume up button at boot, scroll down with volume down to "Recovery", press power to select.
Flash xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip
Wipe cache and Dalvik cache to be safe.
Profit! :good: You now have Xposed, but remember, with great power comes great responsibility.
TL;DR for experts:
Get root and TWRP
Install Xposed 3.1.1
Flash xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip
Keep the arm64 uninstaller in case any module(s) misbehave.
Troubleshooting:
If your phone is thrown into bootloop after installing/activating a new module, simply flash the uninstaller downloaded above.
If you guys would like to see a list of modules that work, let me know!
Big thanks to Rovo89, OnePlus and XDA
Here are the modules I use:
Amplify: Battery enhancements
Assistant Enabler: Google Assistant, not just for the Pixel
DisableFlagSecure: Screenshots everywhere
FingerprintEnabler: use fingerprint to unlock after reboot or when a device administrator app locked the phone
GravityBox: Circle battery, center clock, hide Vibrate icon, double tap to sleep status bar, force media volume control.
Notification Slider by Seveilith: change the slider functions (only app that worked for me, others did not overwrite system settings)
RootCloak: hide root from most apps
SNAPPREFS: Snapchat with extras
Vibration Tuner: change the intensity of vibrations
Partial Compatibility:
Android N-ify: quicksettings are not modified, and white screen overlay appears at volume change but notifications do get N-ified (including direct replies!)
Modules I have tried but do not work:
Hide VoLTE Icon
NFCIconRemover
What do you mean by do not flasg xposed first or you might bootloop? You can flash xposrd first as well. But the best wah is always, Install from xposed app itself. No need of flashing anything manually.

My 1+3t bootlooped quite a few times while trying to install Xposed on it. Just giving a heads up and sharing the way that worked for me..
Thanks, that was indeed quite helpful !
I had quite some struggle with getting Xposed (based on systemless Magisk) to work without bootloops - without success.
With your instructions it worked out very nicely, albeit not systemless. But at least I have a working phone

I am stuck on the 'Phone is starting...' screen. This is how I landed here
1. Added Finger Print Customizations when the phone was working and they did work as expected.
2. Noticed update from 9.0.10 to 9.0.10
3. Flashed stock 9.0.10 image over Bluespark and Magisk rooted image
4. Flashing stock 9.0.10 caused getting stuck in the 'Phone is starting...' screen
5. I can hear my phone ringing on this screen, but I cannot answer any calls since the phone is stuck forever on this screen
6. I tried flashing bluespark and magisk in the hopes of being able to boot, but that just cases my old boot screen to show up and then going back to restarting in a loop again
I believe OPSystemUI.apk (file that I replaced under /system/priv-app for getting custom finger print animation) is causing the issue. I do not know how to restore the stock version of this file without wiping all my data clean. I am not sure if this is the file causing the issue. Is there any way to get the phone started by flashing some files via adb?
Appreciate the inputs in advance.

Silly me, I was looking in the ROM section. I will use this and update the thread again
Hey! It worked. The phone is up and running now. Only thing is I lost all the data on the phone
Solution
Next time you face this issue in any ROM, you can do the following to come out of it. However, you would need to have a customised notification panel, which will allow you to go to settings and security option. Also, ensure you do not have a default launcher, if you have more than 1 launcher in your phone that you use.
Just long press any icon which leads to settings, or click on the settings icon from the notification bar.
It will open a blank settings page. Do a scroll up and down, and it will refresh.
Then go to security and privacy and delete the fingerprints.
You may also need to delete the security pin or swipe or the lock screen settings.
NOTE: Do not delete the locksettings.db from Recovery mode. It will break everything and the above steps might not help.
BTW, I am facing this issue for the last 3 days. Have been doing clean flash everytime. I was searching this issue on internet, but yours came up just now, and I read, FingerPrint, and it stuck me. Now it worked. Rebooting now. But posting the comment here in case I face any issues. Want to help you, as I know what the feeling is like. Frustrated and tired, wanting to kill someone.
Edit: Rebooted without any lock pin or FP. Shows phoe is starting, and starts in 2 seconds and allows access.
Will set a pin and check now.
Then will set one FP and check.
Edit2: Set pin lock and rebooted. Works okay..
Posted this in the other Pie thread, but here is the OTA link for those left out from the fun: https://android.googleapis.com/pack.../e2152a2c966d6c0950ae58c5360bdf0d49f949a0.zip
Magisk works well. Im so happy
Where's the Recents button?
When will update start in Korea?
I just got this phone and I like it a lot but I am wondering does it get regular updates? Regular security patches? Thanks

Gone, by default, due to Pie's multi-gesture button. I've tried it out, and am really not a fan of the gesture control.
To disable it, and get the Overview button back:
1. Go into system settings, then go to System all the way at the bottom
2. Select Gestures
3. Select "Swipe up on Home button" and disable it
You'll get back the classic three-button layout. The icons are now filled in, instead of just outlines.
Overview and enabling multi-window is so much worse than it was in Oreo and earlier... And moving the clock to the left corner was stupid (unless you have a phone with a screen notch, I guess). Stop copying Apple, Google...

Getting rid of OTA updates on a rooted device by freezing "Software Update" apps
I have a rooted Galaxy s10+ with android pie. Doesn't freezing "Software Update" system apps of my android by Titanium Backup make booting problems for my device? Is it safe for me to freeze those apps? I ask because I've heard freezing some system apps like "Device Care" stops the device from booting. They are system apps which android doesn't let you to hide their notifications. you can even stop the apps with some apps but they come back. I just wanna know the answer to my question because all other ways has already been tried and they were unsuccessful.
You can freeze the software update without issues, or at least you could back in Galaxy S4 days. Pie might work differently than lollipop.

thank you for your reply but that is what I'm afraid of. As I have so many data and customization on my phone, I wanna be 100% sure that Android Pie works fine and boots successfully with frozen "Software Update" apps (there are two apps).

Thanks, I'd tried that too, it worked messy on my phone and used much of my mobile's resources. still waiting for someone to say that s/he tried to freeze the source of the problem and wiped the problem clean successfully.

lol that is very nice of you. If you don't mind messing with your Android Pie you can do it now because I just wanna see that the OS boots after freezing "software update" apps using Titanium Backup

Some ideas:
Autonotification blocks permanent notifications permanently .
Or make a Nandroid backup with TWRP and restore if necessary.
Or use TWRP file manager (or aroma file manager https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108) to backup packages .xml file (should work also on PIE) in the data/system folder, which contains information About enabled and disabled packages.

Thank you, I still wanna wait for someone who has done the freezing way. No TWRP on my mobile and I also want things to be done clean. don't like any overload by other apps like autonotification.

Ok.
Always know that having root without having a custom recovery (TWRP) can be very risky because, in case you or some root-app make your phone bootloop, you cannot recover easily (And you lose your data).

Thanks for your advice. Yea you are right but at the moment s10+ was just released and its TWRP wasn't working properly. I'm an advanced user but I just don't have enough time to do it all over again let alone getting back up gets much time itself.
Still waiting for the answer folks ?
SO basically you are asking someone else to potentially F*** up their phone because you are not willing to try it yourself ? Sorry, but that's how it sounds....

Of course not. Some people have enough time to try different software and ways to make phones better. Some even have recovery software like TWRP which can undo if something go wrong. I'm asking them to share if they had the experience I mentioned. I was one of them a while ago.
