At 10pm it appears that reading mode is activated, but it can't be as I have reading mode scheduling turned off. Indeed, if I happen to have reading mode turned on at 10pm, the screen goes even darker. I've looked at other apps that have a schedule option but they are all turned off. So what the heck is turning on at 10pm every night? It's driving me mad! Please help me ?

I've already posted this on Android Central forums but have had no luck so I figured maybe someone here can help.
So this just happened to me last night. I was low on charge somewhere less than 15%. I plugged in my phone and turned it off with Wi-Fi and CDMA radio on. I turned it on a couple minutes later and it booted up in airplane mode. That's okay cause I can just turn airplane mode off. I do that and everything works fine BUT my lock screen still says "Airplane mode is on". If it matters I'm using the rooted Froyo 3.29 build that was released a little before the OTA came out.
Noticed another thing. When powering off it's going to airplane mode right before the screen turns off. I can see my Wi-Fi bars disappear and the airplane show up. Functionally it's fine but it kind of sucks I keep seeing the airplane when I press the power button even though it's no longer in airplane mode.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any possible fix to this?
EDIT:
Sorry. I realize this should be moved to the Q&A. Any moderators out there please move. Thanks!
I wanted to see how much screen on time I could get on the stock battery, and was surprised that I could get 12 hours.
I call bluff. Even though your showing screenshots. That would be incredible if true though.

I can see this as being possible if:
-You're sitting next to the router and/or in airplane mode.
-screen brightness turned all the way down + screen filter
-no app syncing whatsoever
-doing something that doesn't involve the network, eg: playing a video.
Shenanigans!!!

Exactly. I've seen them upwards of 6 hours when on network. But, not with him showing poor LTE coverage. No way that one will get 12 hours of on screen time.
It happens to me yesterday, I leave the phone in Airplane Mode at 11pm and in the next day I heard a low battery warning..and then I thought "ugh..bad kernel! it supposed to last than a day in airplane mode" but when I see battery status, it's been awake 10 hrs with 8h 26m screen on..idk if it's a bug or the screen really turned on because i'm using a cover (it's a Galaxy Note btw, forgot to mention)

Any chance we could see the detailed graph info (when you tap on the graph in the second screenshot)? Otherwise, I'll assume you were in airplane mode until just before taking the screenshots.
I was extremely impressed when I saw over 4 and a half hours of screen on time, since my OG Evo only got about 2 and a half (I think it got up to 3 hours once). Now that I've had the phone for a week, my normal screen on time is between 5.5 and 6.5 hours. That's with almost-exclusively using Wifi with good signal and screen brightness at 26%, no GPS, etc. If anyone can actually get significantly more than 6.5 hours screen on time without airplane mode, I'd like to hear how.
Sorry for the confusion, I was testing out "picture frame" mode here is what I did:
-I turned off the radios using the "phone info" app, which is similar to airplane mode.
-Screen brightness to min.
-Turned on all power saving options.
-Used "screen on" app to keep the screen on.
-Used the gallery with a pitch black picture(I didn't want to get screen burn in)
-The radio was turned on just prior to the screen shot so that I could e-mail myself the screen shot.

So 12 hours without looking for/maintaining a radio signal and showing a black screen? Not impressed.
Hi everyone,
I have a ThinkPad Tablet 2. Last night I wanted to download a file, but I had a problem. I started my download through Internet Download Manager, but I couldn't turn off the display without stopping the download progress. This means Windows 8 translates "Turn off Monitor" to "Sleep Mode" so every background task stops.
I don't want to see the bright light of the screen ( even at lowest ) when I go to sleep, and more important, the health of display is a concern so I dont want it to be always on.
So I asked. And so far every app that has written for turning the display off, is somehow faulty, and it seems its just because Clover Trail which has Connected Standby thing.
I've tested NirCMD, RefreshLock, AutoHotKey and TurnOffLCD. NirCMD, RefreshLock and AutoHotKey trigger sleep mode right away. But TurnOffLCD turns of the display and download continues, but only for a time. After an unpredictable amount of time, device does not interact any more.
So what's the catch ?
Thanks in advance.
Did you find any work around for this issue ?
I want to spend some time developing a 'sleep mode' for android wear. I often sleep with it on and would like a mode which keeps the light off while I'm asleep.
Has there been any effort in implementing this, and how would you proceed?

That would be really awesome.

Bump to that!
thats a nice idea
Great idea. I'd suggest activating sleep mode either when the watch is placed in the charger, or give users the ability to set start and stop times for sleep mode.
I agree, thats cool. It would be great if the smartwatch 3 could stand in low energy mode without light all the time. Because the smartwatch 3 has a transflective display. You could read the time with display-light off.
The closest I've seen is the sleep as android app. I've tried with mixed results but I never seem to get the watch lighting up while sleeping
There seems to be a sleep mode on the next update wear 5.0...you can get the screen on by Double tapping screen or by pressing the crown button

Bump!
Would really love this, an app that unchecks the ”Always-on screen” setting for selected hours of the day, so that the watch automatically turns screen of when you sleep for example…
Oh please..... We need this
I hate manually turning off the watch before bed and back on in the morning. But I did get 36 hours with 9% battery left on my LG G Watch using this method
Someone should write an app that can auto toggle the new theater mode at night/quiet hours
I usually turn the watch in airplane mode in the night... Burns 1% per hr battery overnight on my moto 360

When night clock is active on my phone it turns on and off every couple minutes. Anyone having this issue?
Mine does the exact same thing. I have timed it, 3 minutes on, 2 minutes off. It started doing this after the last AOD update....I just switched it off...real bummer
No mine stays on, are you setting it correctly (time on/off), i actually prefer the AOD and use that timed as my night clock.
