Missing changelog pulldown on update screen in playstore

The title says it all. Am I the only one that lost the the changelog pulldown on the update screen in the playstore? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. It was one of the best additions with true time saving functionality to the playstore IMHO. I haven't had it in some time. Deep down I was hoping that it would magically reappear.

If you mean the "recently updated" section? it is still there for me. You may want to update your Store app, the new one has "play protect" and I don't see that on your screenshot. My version (not beta) v8.1.73.S-all [0] [FP] 165518514
EDIT: just noticed in your sig you are still on 7.1.1? ha ha I also have the N7 Flo, running LOS 14.1 current weekly.

Thanks for the reply. And yes I haven't updated since i got received a new phone from huawei due to the bootloop of death.... I figured I would wait for the bugs to get worked out of oreo and start there! My playstore app is current at 8.1.73. The picture is dated but it shows the pull down dialog that I am asking about. It allows you to see the changelog without having to open up the individual app page. Please don't criticize my excellent MS paint skills.....

LOL. 8.0 is the bug fix for 7.1.2. Smooth sailing here with 8 on several devices. Did not really appreciate what you were talking about before, but then I have never pre-inspected the changelog.... just auto update everything without looking first. If one app is of interest I read the changelog as its downloading, but that's rare. If I were you I would install 8.0 and not look back.... after all why did you buy a Nexus device, if not for anything but security updates which this month in particular is very important in light of the wireless 'BlueBorne' attacks. Geekbuying firmware

Has anybody tested the geekbuying firmware ZTE Nubia Z17 Snapdragon 835 Octa Core Android 7.1 Smartphone Firmware 20170817 (i cant post links so google the bold text) ? They say that any google app wil work.
I am currently thinking about buying this phone but i don't know what to do. I've read throughout the forum that there are problems with the google apps (maybe this geekbuying firmware is good) and that the phone and the notification LED (the home button) will not react to facebook/whatsapp notifications which is a big deal. I saw that the notification issue can be solved by rooting the device and doing some gimmick. The problem is that i am a newbie and i have no idea how to root the device, what to install, what to do and what not to.
Can you guys give me some feedback of how are you dealing with this issues and if the phone is worth the extra effort you have to put in?
Oh and can someone tell me if hearthstone works on it?

Hi i recently purchased my z17 from geekbuying and the problem remains the same with there firmware, Gmail is giving error 'com.google.android.gm.mailmigration is having trouble with google play services. please try again' , gdrive is not functional , google photos cant back up, maps not properly functional, play store gives error ' check your internet connection', google cant sync.
So all gapps are not fully functional, so i contacted geekbuying and they have given a new link for flash. lets see if that works, i will update you after trying that soon.

I asked the same question to geekbuying yesterday.
I've the play store fully functional.
Just open the "task manager" (double tap on the left "button", move the window down. You will see a lock icon on the top right of the picture. Do the updates or install.
To "unlock", do the same once.
It works.
Waiting for a real international ROM too

same issue with gapps
So ive tried there new firmware that they emailed me a link for but again the issue arises with some gapps, although the play store is working but what good it is if you are spending $440 on a latest beautiful looking device and cant have full functional apps.
Therefore, only play store is functional now other apps like gdrive, chrome, google photos, gmail,etc not working, so overall its a false advertisement from geekbuying...

I saw if I set the play store as default apps application ( settings => apps => parameters) and set the parameter (in the play store) as "update automatically only in wifi mode" (don't remember the real text), the updates are done automatically with no problems.

I have the confirmation from Nubia support that z17s will come with an international ROM. The sad part is that they don't know when they will release it...

You are right, I got the same confirmation a week ago. And ... as you can see, they are starting to sell the Z17S with official global rom (EN_Common V1.02), see here:

I don't think that ROM is official. On the Nubia official Facebook page , when people ask them about a date for the international launch date they just ask for patience and to keep following the Facebook page for more info.
I am really curious about how this ROM behaves so please do tell how is your experience after you receive it.

S8/S8+ Oreo Beta is live!!!

There's 10,000 slots available instead of the Sammobile reported 7500 slots available. Once you click a few agreements, you get in automatically but then nothing happens. You have to force the update by going into Settings\Software update. The update happens normally then. The settings menu has changed quite a bit, Oreo is MUCH snappier (especially reboots), and some icons have changed. The warning in the last screenshot comes up automatically about 20 seconds after each reboot. Good luck getting in!!! :highfive:

The OTA downloads to the /cache folder which non-rooted users don't have access to. I wasn't rooted and I don't think you can be in order to join the Beta. Trust me, Sammobile would have posted it already if this was possible.

You have to be either a T-Mobile or Sprint customer or have the unlocked model. It won't appear for anyone else. It will ONLY show up in the Samsung+ app. If you don't see it on the main screen, use the 3 dot menu on the left to see if it shows up there like the screenshot I posted.

I would love to get my hands on the radio and at least flash the modem. Would that work?

Sure, you could flash the modem if anyone could get the OTA but I'm pretty sure it'd be quite difficult. Since we're not rooted, you'd literally have to catch the OTA transmitting over your WiFi network onto your PC and then extract it. Which reminds me....
@bogdi1988 - Perhaps it's not showing up for you because you're not connected to a WiFi network. Make sure you're logged in to your Samsung account in Galaxy Apps and that all your Samsung Apps are up to date (the only way they update is when on WiFi.) Then check the Samsung+ app to see if it shows up for you. Hope this helps.

What about the basic stuff like: adb logcat > file.txt
Then check for updates, extract the url and manually download the OTA?

I updated hours ago and have rebooted several times since updating. I don't think I'd have a chance of finding the file name at this point. It would've been best to start a logcat right before initializing the OTA.

My "upgrade" did not go well. Turns out that package disabler pro is not playing nice with this update. I kept getting Android system has stopped and couldn't even load the main home screen. I gave up finally and hard reset and resintalled all my apps. I also had a pretty bad problem with the battery draining faster than it was charging on a wall plug. Factory reset was a pain to reinstall everything (still ongoing as I need apps, I reinstall them) but the battery issue has disappeared. Can't tell if WiFi is any better. Opinions on this release would be most welcome.

You're complaining about a third party app that disables stock apps that is NOT updated to support Oreo yet not playing nice with a Beta build??? Absurd. I'm quite sure the upgrade went as smoothly for everyone else as it did me.
As for my feedback, I haven't noticed a single hiccup with the build. It doesn't feel like a Beta. It seems like it could've been a final/official build.

Samsung+ never showed the update to me. Oh well. :crying:

It's not about "showing" it to you. They're pushing it to almost everyone. I spoke with 3 other guys who signed up and registered through the Samsung app and it pushed it on the next update.

So you see, I don't think my Samsung account is registered to their Beta program. I have never seen links to do so.

LOL, that wasn't a "complaint" that was an observation. As noted by the no complaint and an observation comment. As far as not noticing it's a beta, would that be between the 15 or so times per minute that the software pops up a warning that this is beta software and may not work as well as expected and may cause problems? That not obvious it's a beta message? Also, the bad battery drain was an issue. That shouldn't happen no matter what.

Share menu bug in OB11 and Stable 5.1.2

Here's my issue:

In normal conditions, pinning an app in the share menu would bring that app to the top of the list (has been like this for years and years in android), but now, the menu doesn't reorder, as you can see in the video.
Tried with a clean install, starts working, but after installing one or more apps, it immediately get's bugged.
Can anyone confirm this? If you don't have that problem, can you post your system info?
I already sent the bug report to oneplus along with logs, but haven't gotten a response yet.

I did not try with Pinning, but on my device, Direct Share no longer works. What I mean is, normally I have my frequent shared contacts right at the top with the corresponding app, so I could always directly share with my wife, for example... Now, that no longer shows up. Weird thing is that it shows up if I select multiple options to share... For example, in gallery, if its a single picture, no direct share, but if its more than one picture, everything works as before.
I am in touch with the bug team about this and they said they are looking into it. If I receive any further updates from them, I will post an update here as well.
It does seem strange though that not everybody seems to have this problem (or don't seem to have noticed!)
For now, Direct Share is too useful for me to live with this bug, so I am planning to downgrade to Beta 9 that worked fine for me.

Yes, I did downgrade. Dirty flash of OB9 over OB11 worked just fine. However, to be doubly sure, I did disable screen-lock before I did it, AND backed up everything important.

OTP Not Coming After Pie Update?

From January 2019 when I updated my phone to Android Pie from Oreo, I have stopped receiving OTP.
Once time I cleared the messages cache and OTP came for 1 day, then it stopped coming again.
Any solution?

Hi, did you receive January security patch, after you updated to pie? what is you model? Mine is TA-1103... Also where are you?
If you are worried, backup what you want to keep and do a factory reset. This may fix things.

Model is Nokia 6.1 plus - Indian version
No one knows the solution to this problem? I know Nokia phones are poorly made but still.

Hi, I read somewhere to get updates that are not automatically coming to the phone, there was a procedure Nokia suggested - Just got to find it again..
However, I found this:
Those people who are not able to update do the following steps
1. Go the play store check settings check if the phone is certified
2. If it’s not certified or you are stuck on old update take the phone the to the nearest service center of Nokia ask the service center representative to do software update and certify the phone
3. If you are stuck on old service update remove the SIM card reboot and connect to the WiFi and update the phone

Hi Xd, you gotta get a 2nd device to use, while you sort out any issues.
As my 6.1 plus has an unlocked bootloader, I can do what ever i want. Flash a stock rom with NOS or flash a GSI with fastbboot.
honestly Nokia phones are no different than any other phone I have modified, they each have there own challenges. its a learning thing.

Hi XD, you can backup everything important in you phone, contacts, calls, sms etc search for backup in settings. You really need to factory reset to find out if that can fix the OTA issue. However it may also be network dependant. Can you switch sim cards?
Also, is the model of the phone TA-1083 DS????

Hi mate, I bought a 7 Plus a couple of days ago and faced the same problem with my banking apps. I have 3 banking apps that I needed to register on my new device and when they sent the verification codes I wasn't receiving any of them. After looking around on Google I found something that actually worked! All that resetting nonsense is what network operators and device manufacturers get you to do just so they can get through your problem quickly and mark it as solved. This is not any kind of solution you want to apply when you've just finished setting up your phone, you spend hours and hours setting up all your passworded apps, sideloaded apps, widgets, wallpapers, new launcher etc etc. There's no way you want to go through all that again!
Anyway, here's what I did. In the stock messaging app I went into the blocked contacts. To do this open the messaging app (Google's Messaging) tap the 3 dots in the top right corner and a menu will drop down, the second item on the list should be Blocked Contacts. Tap on this to open it and all the contacts you have blocked wil appear here. If you have any contacts on your list that have non-numerical details, for example I was getting texts from a fitness and health company called Banatynes and they used their company name instead of a phone number as the sender of their texts and I had blocked them. I had about 10 contacts with non-numerical details included, also some with +44 in front of their number, I took those off the blocked list too. Come out of the app and go to the App details,to do this long press on the app icon, in the menu box that appears select the settings cog in the top right corner to take you to another screen. In the lower part of your screen select App info. Now onto another screen, this time you select the Storage option and here you press Clear Cache and then Clear Storage. That's it, that's all there is to it, no rebooting, no resetting, no sacrificing 4 goats and your first born child to the Gods lol.
After I did this I went straight back to my banking apps, Tesco, Nat West and Barclaycard and finished registering them with no problems. All the OTP numbers came through instantly and the apps work perfectly. So, I hope this will help you and maybe some other people too having this issue, it's not a good look for Nokia when it's something important and necessary like this.

Hi - This problem is now sorted. There were some contacts added in block list which I forgot about. Those few contacts blocked the OTP from everyone: every bank and service provider. Shoddy work by Android team.
