Migrate Windows Mobile 6.5 to Windows CE 6.0 - questions - Windows Mobile

Hello guys, i need your helps.
sorry in advance for my english i am from Russia
Questions:
I have mobile computer MC9190 production Zebra
Its mobile computer have Windows embedded handheld 6.5.
I need migrate to Windows C.E 6.0
I have Windows Ce firmware images, but when I try to download them to the device, I get an "invalid format" error
This procedure is 100% possible, in Russia some guys know how to do it, but they do not reveal secrets.
There is information that the procedure takes 5 minutes.
I ask for your help, because in Russia there are no guides on this topic.
As I understand it, it is required to change one of the loader components in order to gain access to the Initial Programs Loader.
Please help, I will be glad for any information on this matter, since I really need to resolve this issue.

You can't do that the bootloader will not make the changes on device , and trying to install like an update will not work either .
The procedure is not possible , at least not with the official images , with os reload it can be done but you don't have that.
They don't reveal because they can make some money from that by scamming peoples to buy the "tool".

Linux and PDA

Hi,
after long time without a PDA i bought me a Vodafone Compact IV. It's a great Pocket PC, since it store the timezone and date i entered when shutting down . But i really don't want to use WM anymore. It runs WM 6.1 original.
How do i get into the Flashing things? Where on the WIki are some instructions for it? When i had my wizard i had to know if it is G3 or G4, i had to read some stuff like ISPL or something. But where is a beginnerfriendly tutorial? Then the next is, how do i get Linux working on the device? I know about a tool to dualboot WM/Android. And i also found threads which explain how to run Android from SD card. At first i have to know how to start. That's why i need to know about the flashing.
Is there a bootable Linux image? It's okay for me, to delete the WM Partition, but is this possible? Is there anyone working on?
Might it be a problem that i am on Linux with my Desktop PC? :-/. I could use OSX too, but i don't want to get back to windows.
I hope there are some out, who know my situation. Please excuse my imperfect english
edit: it actually doesn't need to be Android. I would be happy about a working Linux system with package manager. There doesn't need to be X11 and the stuff. But, of course, a Desktop environment would be great
edit2: okay i got a HardSPL'ed device know i am flahsing with SD-card. Thats very nice. Is there a Linux Image out there, which i cann install via SD-card and that runs instead of WM????

A few questions from a noob

Hi everybody, I'm new on the pda's world.
I already have a HP iPaq model hx2490b with Windows 5.0, and I wanna upgrade to Windows 6.5. I'm spanish, and I have the Spiaatie's version of windows mobile 6.5 in spanish language. Until here all good. In theory, it's too easy to install the 6.5 version. But when I push the buttons for bootloader mode (iTask + agenda + reset button), the Pda screen turns slowly white, then, slowly, a darks lines vertically appears. I think that in the bootloader mode must appear letters or something, or not? What can I do?.
Another question is that yesterday I was bored and I prove to install the 6.5 version without the bootloader mode. The upgrade begin and, in 0.1% appears an error:
"ERROR 608: Coult not initialize device.
RUUClientDriver.dll Coult not initialize this device.
This may not be the correct dll for this iPAQ Pocket PC and this NBF file.
Click Cancel to quit."
I prove everything and I don't know what can I do more. Some help, please? Thanks very much, and sorry for my bad english.
You could try the Universal iPAQ Bootloader...
OK I just found out I don't have enough posts to drop external links in threads I have not started so check my thread here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=981868) to see what info and links I have about Bootloader.
I hope this helps you out.

Alright i've checkron chevrons website and the tokens ($9) aren't for sale right now, but thanks everyone.
how to
since it took some time for me to find out how to side load apps in WP7.5, I'll explain it to other noobs:
You need to install Zune, the .NET 4.0 Framework and Windows Phone SDK 7.1. Then install Phone7Market (you can find it here). It comes with the Phone7Market itself, from which you can download your .xap files and with the Phone7Deployer. Connect your HD2 via Zune, create a desktop shortcut for the Phone7Deployer, get your xap file you want to deploy (i.e. from the Phone7Market) and drag&drop it on your desktop shortcut. It won't harm to check the two boxes (remove drm and the other one). A few seconds later, you should find your app/game on your device.
btw, this is FREE, so you don't need to pay 9 bucks for chevron.

I'm sorry to hear that, but I can't help you with that since I don't have this error. The only two things that come to my mind: You need Windows Vista or 7 for the SDK and you should try a hard reset on your device (backup your data before of course).

[Q] Other OS than Windows Mobile

Hi
I have searched these forums for a long time, to find out if I could get another operating system than Windows Mobile, as I'm experiencing a lot of problems with the phone, also after a hard reset, and contacting HTC-support.
Is it possible in any way at all, to get another operating system than Windows Mobile 6.5 on this device. I really want to have android on it, but I haven't been able to find anything that could get android on my device.
So it would be nice if someone could tell me how to get another OS on this device, as I'm getting tired of Windows Mobile
Same question for me
So far you cant have any other OS than Windows Mobile 6.5. But there is hope for having Android on Mega -> you can check progress HERE .
