[Q] Asus Fonepad 8 vs Zenpad 8

Hello all ! I am looking to buy a tablet, basically a second device to my primary phone (Samsung Galaxy s4). For me calling is a must in the tablet and I am not looking at beyond $300 price mark. I finalized on Asus Fonepad 8 (Model:FE380CG) and Asus's newer model, the Zenpad 8 (Model: Z380KL). Brief specs of both as follows:
Asus Fonepad 8 FE380CG and Zenpad 8 Z380KL common specs:
=================================================
8" HD display with 1280X800px resolution
4000 mAh battery
2 GB RAM DDR3
MicroSD card slot
WiFi b/g/n, bluetooth 4.0, GPS with Glonass
Cameras on both tablets are average at best
Dimensions and weight more or less similar and for me doesn't matter.
Android lollipop 5.0 on both
Now the Fonepad 8 Specs:
=====================
Processor: Intel Atom Z3530 quad core cpu 1.33Ghz 64-bit
GPU: Power VR G6430
Dual SIM 3G dual standby
Front firing stereo speakers
Camera 2mp front and 5 mp back
Zepnad 8 Z380KL Specs:
===================
Processor: Qualcomm Spandragon 615 Octa core 1.8Ghz 64-bit
GPU: Adreno 405
Single SIM 4G LTE
Front firing single speaker
Camera: 2mp front and 8 mp back
Now after reading a lot about both of them I find that in benchmarks the intel atom processor is ahead of snapdragon 615 and without any heating issues. Secondly the GPU with intel processor though only a mid range gpu is almost twice as fast than the adreno 405 with the Snapdragon 615. Plus the the fonepad 8 has dual sim and dual front firing speakers for good audio. The zenpad 8 comes with a audio cover accessory which is like $65 more. So overall I am really confused which one to get please help!.
My main criteria is Performance and battery life with good calling.
Please reply early as my second phone is dead already and need a urgent replacement. Thanks to all !!
Some Asus user, please answer ??
sure this is going to be the expired answer of mine, but i just want to share though, i was just at the same situation but finally opted for fonepad 8. i'm satisfied with the device since it has a very good perfomance, battery life and no serious heat issue for running 3D games..

Cube iwork11 - 10.6 - 1080p - Atom Z8300 - 4GB - 64GB - Windows 10 - Wacom Stylus

Hey all, I have just ordered the Cube iwork11, it's basically a cheaper version of the Cube i7 Stylus reviewed here in the forum. It's got the same exact screen, housing, wacom support and keyboard dock. The only thing that has changed is the Core M, has been replaced with the cheaper Atom X5 Z8300 (1.84Ghz boost) Gen8 12 EU Intel graphics and the 64GB SSD is now a cheaper and slower 64GB eMMC drive.
The current price $273, I ordered it from Gearbest here: http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_261671.html Once I receive the tablet and keyboard I'll post my first impressions.
Cube iwork11 Atom X5 Z8300 specs:
10.6 inch 1920 x 1080 PLS panel (Same panel the Surface Pro 2 SAMSUNG LTL106HL01-001)
Built in wacom support
10 point multi touch screen
4GB of DDR3 Ram
Front 2MP Camera and 5MP rear camera
Realtek RTL8723BU Wireless B/G/N and BT 4.0
9000mAH battery
Support for keyboard dock, with 2 x USB 2.0 ports and slot to stow the stylus
MicroUSB 3.0 Port
Mini HDMI Out.
Press images and info:
Reserved space for downloads, hands on videos etc etc
Any luck with the shipping? I ordered mine on the 12th of November and it hasn't even changed status from 'Processing' to 'dispatched'

[Question] Is there no custom ROM for the JOYING PX 5 unit?

I bought 7 Inch Single Din Octa Core 4GB / 32GB (JY-UMS03N4PX5). (I have not received it yet)
Not long ago, I purchased and used Android HU (6.2 Inch Single Din Octa Core 2 GB / 16 GB),
but it is slightly bad and usability is slightly smaller, so I replaced it.
Is there no custom ROM for JOYING PX 5 unit?

Share your HD 8 vs walmart Onn 8" comparision, impressions?

Anyone use both the amazon HD 8 and the new $64 walmart Onn 8" tablet and wish to share their impressions on how they compare?
The HD 8 (2018) and the walmart Onn 8" both have bootloader unlock and root. Onn 8" unlock, root, xposed. On paper the walmart Onn 8" looks better, having more ram and near stock android 9 with treble for a lower price.
Onn 8" vs HD 8 (2018) specs
cpu: same MT8163 1.3GHz quad core
screen: same 800x1280
ram: 2 GB, 1.5 GB
flash: 16 GB, 16 or 32 GB options
cameras: 0.3 MP/ 2 MP, 2 MP/ 2 MP
OS: Android 9, FireOS (android 7.1 based)
Wifi: same dual-band abgn
non-sale price: $64, $80
Battery life of the Onn 8" is reportedly not great.

That's the onn 10" vs Fire HD 10. The Fire HD 10 has a faster processor, higher resolution screen, and non-prime-sale costs $70 more. The Fire 10 should win that. It's a different comparison than onn 8" vs HD 8, which are more closely matched with same processor & screen res.
