****forget to show system apps, found them, cried. WIll ADB later******
This is a cross-post I put up on Reddit as well.
I tried searching for any new info but couldn't find any updated info so...
Just forced install of the international variant on my 8 pro. Removed Facebook but can't seem to find those services anywhere in the settings.
I'm probably just looking in the wrong place but maybe some light shined out of the software gods butts and killed that nonsense.
Anyone else?

I've got a NGP that ive rooted and sideloaded a bunch of apps on. I'm really happy with it so far but what I'm really hoping for is two things, does anyone have experience or info on getting Gapps working or a norefresh/A2 refresh mode mod either standalone apk or xposed module? I've done exhaustive searching but have been unable to find anything much when it comes to the NGP.
Thanks,
Ryan C
A2 dosen't exist yet
Hi dull1554,
I too am trying for months to find A2/no refresh mode, and also posted on various forums with no luck.
I am pretty sure it's technically possible, since the device uses E-ink controller which supports A2 on other devices, i also tried to look into the Android OS files and found files that suggest that A2 does exist on the Nook Glowlight+.
looks like we need a pro android developer to help us here.
please update if you have better luck than me.
thanks!
I just got my M3 this weekend (from amazon), and it updated to android 7 and emui 5 as soon as I told it how to talk to wifi.
I've been gradually getting used to it (I've finally learned how to use the fingerprint sensor rather than looking for soft buttons), but there are scads of apps installed according to Settings>Apps which don't show up on any of the screens in emui.
How do I get the apps in the launcher so I can actually run them? (Or in many cases, delete them - I found I was able to delete facebook from the launcher even though the apps list in settings wouldn't let me).
One piece of new info: Maybe they weren't installed apps after all. Maybe they were bad info left over from the android 7 update. I went into the apps settings again and got the "shall I remove updates and revert to base version" message you always get for apps that are being forced on you, and this time I said "yes". But instead of now seeing the "base version" in the apps list, it was gone completely (which is what I wanted all along).
Hey all, my OnePlus 6t should be arriving tomorrow and I plan to unlock the bootloader and root it to be able to gain additional control over what I can disable. Previous phones I've just installed LineageOS immediately but in the meantime I'd like to disable as much as possible with root on the stock Oxygen OS installed while waiting or an unofficial LOS build. Is there a list somewhere that provides all services to disable (Google Play Services, etc.) to achieve this? I've searched but haven't been able to find anything and am trying to achieve as close to LineageOS as possible on the stock rom while I wait. Thanks!
Disable? Nuke that stuff, haha..... So I just updated to 9.0.10 so I kept a list of what I immediately removed:
ANT HAL Service (Do not remove if you use Fitness trackers, at least that is my understanding)
Basic Daydreams 9 (I don't use this)
BugReportLite
CardPackage
Chrome
com.oem.logkitdservice V1.0
com.oneplus.factorymode.specialtest v1.0
Drive
Duo
Factory Mode V1.01...
GMail
Google Pay
Play Movies / TV
Play Music
Live Wallpaper Picker (I don't use live wallpapers)
Notes (Decide if this is useful to you or not)
NVBackupUI
OnePlus System Service 1.0.0.1...
OnePlus Wallpaper (I don't use OP wallpapers, this may reset your wallpaper, even if you weren't using a OP wallpaper. Just reselect a new wallpaper no big deal. Note this does not remove all the stock wallpapers though)
OnePlus Widget (I don't use OP widgets)
OnePlusLogKit 1.0.0...
Photos
Push 1.2.0.18....
YouTube
The only real fallout I've had is I've noticed the phone needs to be setup before you strip this stuff out. Something I'm removing prevents setting up new accounts. So I can't add new Google accounts or emails after doing this? Not sure what that's about, but you can always dirty flash the ROM to temporarily fix that. Then remove unnecessary things again.
It's worth noting I believe there's still several things left that I would consider bloat, when I get a few minutes, I'm going to try and remove some more things and see what happens. So it could be leaner yet.

Perfect, thank you! It's supposed to arrive today and the plan is to nuke as much as possible from the get go, I'll let update this if there's anything else that I remove in addition to your list. Thanks again!

No worries. I've removed those same things from every update now, and everything's been fine, other than the one problem I've mentioned above. There's still a couple test modes I think could be removed? Pretty sure the additional unused icon packs could go as well. I want to test removing the shot on oneplus deal, I'm not sure if that would upset the camera or not (I'm guessing probably not). Still a slew of OP stuff left as well, I need to look into and see what it's for. Primarily I want to make sure all the OP logging stuff was gone and that should be.

This is what I'm aiming for as well, at least until a stable-enough LineageOS build is released to flash.
Hi @OhioYJ,
Thank you for the spectacular list. Thinking of using it as I'm on OP7 which is basically the OP6T plus (same screen size etc.)
A couple noob questions,
- when you say "Nuke that stuff", do you mean uninstall it using Titanium Pro?
- what's the benefit of nuking vs. freezing (also with Titanium Pro)?
- are you still on that phone, and has your list evolved much?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice you might have time to share.
In Magisk repo you can find debloat script. Whit a terminal emulator you can easy remove and reinstall apps.

Yes "nuke" means uninstall it. Freezing lets you easily put it back if something goes wrong. If you uninstall it and something goes wrong you will have to dirty flash the ROM, or find that to put back. Removing it entirely gains you space. I did find a few more things that were safe to remove, but I dont use use OOS (sorry should have kept a list). I only used it while they were sorting things out in Lineage. So I was going back and forth between the two. I still have / use the phone but only run LOS these days.
Out of that list the things that jump out at me, I know I removed the oneplus switch app, shot on one plus, and the extra icon options as well that I wasnt using.
Hallo!
I've recently heard about ROMS,degoogling your Phone etc. and I bought this S10+ Phone. Is there a safe was to delete all bloatware, google Software and so on?
I've heard about GrapheneOS but unfortunately it's only for google devices so I was wondering what kind of solutions exist for this case. There are also phones with hardware kill switches but I'm a little bit skeptical about them.
Please tell me everything you know about this or the best pages to get an idea how to do so. I will be forever grateful

I feel you. The only google crap I (want to) use is Gmail and occasionally gmaps.
Unfortunately all of Android is created to serve its master... how can you separate the two?
Lol, Apple?

Thanks for your replys. I will try it out

If your s10+ is using an exynos cpu you can install lineage os. Lineage won't work on the snapdragon variants

Hi there sciencebitches,
I realize your original post was from 2020 and its now March 2023 so maybe this is not something your interested in anymore... maybe you have a new phone, etc. But....
The Samsung phones that are sold in North America (either Canada or US) have locked bootloaders that cannot be unlocked. So you are stuck flashing Samsung firmware that is digitaly signed by Samsung.
However, if you get an international model then you can unlock the bootloader and load custom firmware. You have a couple of choices.
LineageOSWhen loading LineageOS, you can choose to load it with or without GApps. Loading it with GApps gives you all the same Google stuff, a library known as Google Play Services, as on normal Android. Loading LineageOS without GApps gives you no Google stuff whatsoever. This is what I am running on my SM-G975F – LineageOS without GApps.
LineageOS for microGThis gives you LineageOS with a substitute library called MicroG. The MicroG library is a reimplementation of the Google Play Services that some (a lot?) of Android apps require. So, if you need to use some apps that require Google Play Services but don’t want to be overrun with Google again, then MicroG is recommended. With “pure LineageOS” (sans GApps) you get no Google Play Services whatsoever.
/e/OSThis is another implementation of LineageOS with MicroG. It is fairly polished but tries to look like iOS and so feels somewhat un-Android like. I have no first-hand experience with /e/OS.
GrapheneOS and Calyx OSThere is also GrapheneOS and Calyx OS but I have no experience with those either. My understanding is they are along the same lines. I think that GrapheneOS comes with no Google Play Services and no MicroG (i.e. like “pure” LineageOS) but gives you the option of installing real Google Play Services (not MicroG) as a normal app as opposed to as a system app.
If you live in Canada I can help you get an international phone that you can install LineageOS or one of the others listed here.
Best regards,
The Fish
(DISCLAIMER: This thread is a repost, I don't know how to move my old thread from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/developing-wear-os-apps-for-ticwatch-gtx.4233191/ to this topic)
Hi there, I just recently bought a Ticwatch GTX, thinking it was installed with Wear OS, but turns out it was installed with a proprietary OS made by Mobvoi (I know... I'm really not careful). The reason why I bought the watch in the first place was to create Wear OS apps with it, but after buying it, I can't even find out how to enable ADB debugging... I've tried clicking each item listed in the Settings page (there is no Build number) 10 times, and none of them triggered a response or a toast message. Any help is appreciated.
I would assume it doesn't support ADB, and even if it does it has only 16MB storage which is probably all filled up by the OS and built-in apps, so I doubt you would be able to fit any other app there.
I found that both the ticwatch s2 and the e2 is priced at only $119.99 now, which is insanely cheap for a Wear OS watch, so you could get one of them, or you could get a refurbished Sport or Express for only 2 dollars more than the gtx.
I also found your post in the ticwatch forum and there you mentioned that this is for an assignment. I can se why you would want a physical device to test on if you are going to make several apps and publish them, but if it's only for an assignment I would think that using an emulator would be good enough
