Hi,
After successful update to Android 11 on Oneplus 8 Pro, I cannot find the modem in PDC tool or QPST as before.
The device was described in Windows devices list as IN2012 without any drivers so I installed manually latest Qualcomm drivers and chose Android Modem 9020 which was recommended by some guys using beta. Unfortunately, I still cannot change modem settings via PDC.
I don't have a root on my phone and would like to stay that way.
Do you have any new guide for Android 11 how to acquire that functionality for changing modem in PDC? Thanks
Hi PDC does not detect my oneplus8 pro running android 11 .. everyone seems in this case, and no solution has been found yet

That is true I have oneplus 8 pro IN2020, i used to have access to full-port switch and rndis, diag switch before oxygenos 11, now after updating to oxygenos 11, no longer i can access it my computer won't detect it anymore via PDC tool or QPST.
Maybe this isn't what you're talking about, but works fine here (stable 11.0.0).
*#801# to enable full-port switch.
Edit: tested PDC, also working.
Edit2: Missed that no root part. I am rooted and have engineermode enabled, that would probably be the difference.
Same for the IN2020 model that I am using.
Seems like Android 11 or OnePlus themselves are blocking the QPST port, and the only solution so far needs the device rooted.

Hi. The only solution on Android 11 is to be root and use this solution which works very well:

Absolutely not. The only solution to relock the bootloader is to use the MSM tool. This will cause data to be erased and the bootloader to be locked. Your Oneplus will be reset to factory configuration.
automatically manipulation to activate the volte and vowifi will be lost.

Hi!!
Same problem Android 6.0 dont work.
Any idea?¿
Also need help with this.
I know this phone supports 5Ghz networks, but it doesn't show.
I tried fixing it trough Engineering mode, but it crashed on me. :/
I'm running android 6.0. Anyone found a solution yet?
I follow instruction from this link: http://www.needrom.com/download/enable-5ghz-wifi-with-sp-meta-tool/
and did successfully enable the 5Ghz WiFi permanently. Follow each step properly til the end, make sure step 12 and 13 are done, otherwise you have to redo again.
but 1st, you need to have root and a custom recovery TWRP.
I accidentally wiped out my nvram partition when upgrading to a Marshmallow rom with SP Flash Tool and wanted to re-enable 5ghz wi-fi.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get the needrom.com tutorial working due to the SP Meta program not detecting my phone properly (probably due to a driver issue).
I did find a workaround if you are rooted. View this link: https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/...recovery-root.739625-page-2.html#post-9457294. The page is in German so you'll need to use Google Translate.
Anyway, to summarize, the solution is to modify the following file with a hex editor - /data/nvram/APCFG/APRDEB/WIFI. You will need to modify the C5 and 106 byte offsets from 0 to 1. Next, you will also need to delete the last two bytes of that file. Then save and reboot your phone and the next time you turn on wifi, you should be able to see your 5ghz wifi network again.
The problem with this approach is you might need to redo this if you ever wipe out your /data/nvram/ folder.
I just wanted to write this up just in case I ever run into this problem again
Mostly Sony XZ-series phones have limited LTE Carrier Aggregation bands on per country / provider. You can check here more information about that: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/how-to/lte-carrier-aggregation-combinations-t3577544
I made step by step instruction how to modify on Sony XZ, Sony XZs, Sony XZ Premium and Sony XZ1 LTE Carrier Combinations. Rooted phone required. This instruction should working also with Dual SIM models.
Sony XZ Premium after Android 9 PIE does not work anymore
You can check this on my blog site: https://mt-tech.fi/en/modify-sony-xz-xzs-xz-premium-and-xz1-lte-a-band-combos/
Make sure you make full modem backup and backup all config files to your computer, if need restore configuration.
To try this mod, it should be supported by the carrier also! Is there a way to find out in which countries it's rolling?

Did you mean LTE Carrier Aggregation support? You just should check what band your provider support and then find possible combos on our Google sheets (link on first post).
Many providers also support well 256QAM/64QAM but not every provider yet. There is no list yet.
That's my point... There is no "list". You just try it and see if it's working. But I'm not brave enough to try it -and IF it goes smoothly- see no result because my provider being ambitious in saving money than QoS :/

That should ask from local provider customer service.
When know local LTE bands then know possible CA-combinations.

On oreo using the driver for xiaomi I had to manually insert the "COM" port, now with the drivers downloaded by windows the phone is autodetected*.
The device used by QPST is "USB\VID_05C6&PID_9091&REV_0404&MI_00". Sometimes with the module enabled the phone says "no service", to solve the problem just enable and disable the "Airplane mode", note that this does not interfere in any way with QPST/QXDM. Obviously you should disable the module after finishing the work.
And thak you very much for your work I still have some doubts about the lte_category file. Analyzing the firmware of many smartphones I understand how the files disable_cap_ies (disable 64qam/256qam capabilities), rrc_capable_plmn_list (limit the plmn that have capabilities not disabled) and the carrierpolicy works, but I found anything about lte_category :/
*In my case qpst is running in windows 7 compatibility mode

olkitu , little bit off topic but at what extent can be done with Qualcomm software to unlock the full potentioal of any phone? Im not talking about LTE and 5G, I mean Bluetooth, GNSS, Wifi, NFC, codecs. Because of the lack of tutorials on how to edit NV items EFS mods its a dangerous game.

Hi,
are both features VoLTE and VoWIFI working for you?
I enabled them in Logkit app. Then configured my IMS APN profile and enabled both features in settings.
When in flightmodus with Wifi enabled, calling is impossible.
When connected to 4G and calling, the connection drops to 3G.
No VoWIFI or VoLTE icon shown.

Working fine here.
Used "com.oem.oemlogkit_1.0-1.apk" and then dial *#800*. Choose "Function Switch" and then mark "VoLTE switch" and "VoWifi switch". Reboot and it's done.
Guys, is the same method working for oos11? Anyone tried?
I tried to activate volte on 8T in Bulgaria A1 (former Mtel).. i can't get it working.
Changed a lot of profiles via PDC, changed a lot of carrier policy files via FFS Explore... no go!
The phone is with latest 11 OOS, unlocked.
My SIM has Volte, the carrier supports it, i get it working by default on other phones when i insert my sim. But this 8T is driving me crazy..
Hello All,
Has anyone been able to get VOLTE to work on OP 8 pro after Android 11 update ?
There was a method through QPC on Android 10. However it looks like since updating the Qualcomm device doesn’t show up anymore.
The option is still present on engineering mode & in settings but the VOLTE icon doesn’t show up & making a call results in network reverting to 3G (H+) .
Funny enough this update (11) got the 5G to work but disabled this option above.
I am on IN2025 North american varient on 1 sim in sim 1 , not rooted either but willing to try anything to get VOLTE to work.
Any insight would be appreciated !
Hello everyone, I am facing exactly the same probelm. Searching other threads including oneplus forums... there is a dead silence regarding this.
Seems folks dont know how to switch the phone to full port mode or serial mode to get qualcom tools to work and upload volte profile on the phone.
Hope this will be known soon. Otherwise really happy with Android 11, second SIM started to work.
Hi, I'm going to give you a feedback on the volte and vowifi with Android 11.
I have two French sim cards.
Under Android 10 I was how everyone had to use the PDC software and load the correct country profile. At each update obliged to redo the manipulation.
Since Android 11 and the first beta developers and open beta. No need to do this manipulation anymore.
I made a data wipe from the recovery, to start again on a healthy basis and Android 11. Of course I did not have the volte etc ..
I just downloaded the engineer mode apk and made the key combination * # 800 #
To activate the volte and the vowifi.
My OnePlus 8 pro is of course not recognized like everyone else by PDC under Android 11.
But when restarting the wifi rt lte calls were available on my two sim cards. Without having loaded any PDC profile.
Perhaps these operator options are native and integrated in Android 11 (at least for French operators).
Currently I am under open beta 2 global.

Hello Zayatoshi,
So you just wiped the phone after 11 update then it just shows as working ?
I am able to use engineer mode apk with *#801# combination the option is showing in settings but VOLTE is still not working making a call it goes to 3G (H+).
I am in Canada on IN2025
Hi. with me the wipe data was not linked to the activation of the volte and other. but with each change of version of Android and prefers to redo a clean installation. the * # 801 # key combination is useless because it is used to switch to full port Switch and then connect to PDC. friends seen under Android 11 the op8pro is not recognized it is useless. the wipe may be tested. but did you activate the volte and vowifi with * # 800 #, and restart your phone? These options must be active with the operators. And with Oos there is the volte logo which is present when this option is activated. I just activated these options and since the volte is present even after each update. without pdc uses

Yes i activated with * # 800 # & restarted the phone ,there is no Volte icon & when i make a call Its going to 3G.
Ok guys by some miracle I got it to work!!!!
Here's what I did.
Install stable Android 11 full version.
Use *#800# to activate VOLTE then restart.
I then switch my sim card from OnePlus 8 Pro to my old galaxy S9 where VOLTE was working before then make 1 call to ensure volte is working on S9.
Then switch sim back to OnePlus 8 Pro & boom VOLTE is working on Android 11 !! .

What model is your phone and what country, please?
Mine is IN2023
Hello, my model is IN2025.
I am in Canada on Bell network.
VoLTE working fine here on IN2023 and Android 11 ... for some reason I need to set my SIM card into the "SIM2" slot for this to work, no VoLTE on SIM1
Very strange , I'm on Sim 1 Volte is working fine now.

I have followed this method and it did not change anything for me.
Provider - Freedom.
I have another phone Pixel 3a, pulled SIM from OP , put it to Pixel, ensured volte / wifi calling works there , switched SIM back to OP , no result.
Looking for another solution. I don't believe reset of the phone will make any difference.
Thanks all.

Did you make a call on Volte on the other phone ?
Make sure it stays on LTE for that call to confirm its working (on other phone) then put the sim in the OnePlus.
Also, did you enable volte on OnePlus using engineering mode ?
When I enter *#800#, all I get are call log kits. I'm sure sure how or where I can turn on volte.
Same here

Hello All,
Has anyone been able to get VOLTE to work on OP 8 pro after Android 11 update ?
There was a method through QPC on Android 10. However it looks like since updating the Qualcomm device doesn’t show up anymore.
The option is still present on engineering mode & in settings but the VOLTE icon doesn’t show up & making a call results in network reverting to 3G (H+) .
Funny enough this update (11) got the 5G to work but disabled this option above.
I am on IN2025 North american varient on 1 sim in sim 1 , not rooted either but willing to try anything to get VOLTE to work.
Any insight would be appreciated !

I'm having the exact same issue.
Tried to replace sims on a different phone and verify that the SIM does support VoLTE - didn't solved the issue.
Looking forward for a decent solution.

Yes.
Hello. I am using OP8P IN2020 with Global Firmware. While i am using volte without any problem with version 11.IN11AA, after updating to 11.0.1.1.IN11AA via ota, realised that volte stopped working. The volte icon disappeared. Checked settings and Volte option is still active but it doesnt work.
Tried switching to EU firmware "11.0.1.1.IN11BA" that didnt work too.
Downgraded to 11.IN11AA Stable Global version and it seems it worked. So i OTA Update to 11.0.1.1.IN11AA again and volte stopped working again.
So here is the result for me with 11.IN11AA VOLTE works. With 11.0.1.1.IN11AA and 11.0.1.1.IN11BA VOLTE does not work.
What is it about? Can i somehow fix this?
Root is required to have accsess to PDC and through it you can change the volte profile with no root your device won't be detected by PDC and nothing you can do to activate volte
So is there a guide to how to use pdc and activate volte for our device?

Yesss. With your guide i made it. Thank you very much.
Oxygen Updater
I upgraded to 11.0.11.IN11AA early this morning utilizng Oxygen Updater and my VOLTE shows it's icon up the the far right corner. Seems it's working fine. I'm sure y'all have a way to verify if it's truly working, so please have patience with me as this is all new to me. I'm a NUG (new useless guy) as we called new engineers in the Datapoint world, almost 40 years ago. You've probably never heard of that company.
Thanks for this post and thanks to all you people I'm learning so much...
