Root after install Android 11 - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

How can i root my oneplus 8 pro after install Android 11.
Thanks a lot if someone can help me.

Patched boot image method probably works. Try that.

I don't know How to create the patched boot.img

Have you looked through the forums? Lots of people telling what works.

If you don't want to deal with patching your boot image and don't have a custom recovery installed, boot to twrp and flash magisk from there.

Same process as rooting the previous build. Flash SuperSU in recovery. Pretty basic.

Only if you want to use traditional root, which has been discontinued. Systemless root patches the boot.img for you, so all you have to do is flash the zip.

Yes, if you want to root the stock ROM. If you're going to flash a custom ROM just unlock your bootloader, install TWRP, and install the ROM. No need to flash SuperSU first.

No. Unlock bootloader/flash twrp/flash rom of your liking. Just like @Hisenberg said. Make a backup of your stock rom before you wipe and flash a custom one though just in case.

Yeah, but you don't need root to use TWRP. You can flash zips, custom ROMs, kernels, etc all day and not be rooted.

For firmware run the desired batch file and all.
Got it unlocked and have white asus screen. ....however when I install flashify and run it the app freezes and doesn't let me pick the twrp img. When I close flashify and reboot I'm stuck on the loading screen.
How are you all flashing twrp on the zenfone2e?

geeve420, I used a fastboot flash method here, and it works perfect. Yes I did try Flashify and no luck also. There some flash recovery scripts/batch files out there also that work too. Good luck, and fun with having the custom recovery!!
Thanks everybody for all the hard work. I had to grab minimal adb/fastboot and command line TWRP in....
I now have an AT&T Zenfone2e with unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed!
Now let's see what kind of development happens

how to root PFJMIXM

I already know that there is a post about rooting the miui 11 using fastboot and boot.img but I don't find it reliable so I am looking for a way to install root permissions using twrp and was thinking about the Russian one
Will it work or not since it's already not android 10
I, too, am curious.

Sir,
i tried all possible ways it did not work, We really we need someone to help us with rooting Samsung A51
Let's see if they can help h**ps://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/issues/2272,
Please send logs to try to find the cause of the problem. Also asked in magisk discussion for solutions because this firmware has 2 different vbmeta imgs one vbmeta_samsung.img and another vbmeta.img.
Adb says it is treble enabled.
A working rooting method for the A51 would be greatly appreciated! I would be more than happy to donate 20 euro to the one who can help me out!

Hey brat lol a tease is right. Awaiting the process.
Hi everyone, greetings... I'm listening, just bought the international version from indonesia.
So TWRP is coming soon. To root you need to wait for TWRP because there are 2 vbmetas
Vbmeta.img
Vbmeta_samsung.img
Vbmeta.img can be patched to allow magisk to work but Vbmeta_samsung.img cannot. To fix this you need to install a signed TWRP image with special keys. @geiti94 will sign his TWRP image to work with vbmeta_samsung.img
Hope this cleares all of your thoughts. Thank samsung for making this so complicated.

Twrp not compatible with android 12. I think you wait android 12 offical release or try get patch boot.img version UJ5 android 11 with boot.img.p in update.zip beta 1 via this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...a-fastboot-boot-img-for-leak-install.1702233/
For sure you can. Writing this from rooted S20U on OneUI 4.
Just flash latest magisk canary with OrangeFox (a TWRP fork) which support OneUI 4.
Edit: My bad, you own a exynos S20.
So you can use imagepatchtools to patch your OneUI 3 boot image to OneUI 4. Then use latest magisk canary app to root OneUI 4 boot image then tar it and flash it with odin.

The imagepatchtools github is pretty well explained but I admit it's a bit complicated.
Or else would you try this modified twrp: twrp_G98X_geiti_modded_A12.tar ?
I applied the same fix as for snapdragon S20. It should avoid bootloop but you probably won't be able to mount system and vendor from twrp ui. Anyway you will be able to flash magisk which is the simpliest way to root.

No problem!
If you try this modded twrp can you give me a feedback here?
For the next beta you will have to flash back stock firmware then beta updates one after the other or patching all images using above imagepatchtools. But for stable release you will be able to download full firmware and flash it with odin.
