Any news about this ?!
Running Ubuntu Touch on the Z2 Pro would be a dream come true!
My old BQ Ubuntu Phone won't be supported in the 20.04 LTS release so I am looking for other options and this would be one if I can also find a new battery for the Z2 Pro

After reading this i thought it is possible to bring this to our omap 850 devices so i just want see ur views
you can use e17 booting angstrom + illume thanks to wing linux project
but there aren't angstrom image ready to load you must compile...
As gp.triple pointed out, it should be possible to do. As Wing Linux uses Angstrom+Android so Angstrom+E17 shouldn't be a problem.
And pitillo on #wing-linux mentioned a couple of days ago that he was trying to build it for elf (aka Touch, another Omap850 device). If he succeded in making one, it should run as is on our devices.
Personally, I prefer having a Kernel that supports all Opal features before worrying about builds and packages. And sadely, I'm not having lots of success there
Anyway, check the link in my sig if you want to know more about Wing Linux.

Can you refer a link? Because its almost sure that what you say is not possible, the drivers needed for a linux kernel are not developped for acer s200 (from what I know)
Here is the link http://www.esphoneblog.com/2010/06/30/ubuntu-linux-ported-to-htc-hd2-version-0-1/ near the middle says linux is booting on qsd8250 based acer s200

Hey, spxc.
I´m really curious about how far can you go with this project. As I assume my Elfin and me are going to be still together for a long time, I wish the best of lucks to you.
GReetings!
yes, ill have to trim down the RAM use of of 2.2, because elfin dosen't have too much RAM and CPU speed, or it might be laggy :/ du know anyone that can support me on this one? as an developer? thanks for your support

No idea, I´m sorry. I thought that you were part of the WingLinux project, so maybe there you can find support.
Good luck.

Hi all, I'm very curious about porting an OS to a device born for another OS. I' d like to know which are the pre-requisites. I define me as an expert noob, because I'm a student and I don't know 'nothing' (IMHO), so I'd like to learn about this topic and I'd like to help someone to port firefox OS to another phone (especially wave and mini2, I have this two phone at the moment).
Hope the someone could clear my ideas
Thank you.
Here's the official guide on the Mozilla website:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US...tlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Firefox_OS/Porting
Good luck
Well, the wave was born with bada, but there's the porting of Android 4, can I use that kernel? What else I have to modify? Something in the kernel used in Android of Wave + config.sh ??
While for the mini2 the porting is as every android?

I can't really say, since I'm not a dev or anything, just hoped that the guide would help you.
Try to search on this page:
https://developer.mozilla.org/ru/docs/Mozilla/Firefox_OS
Maybe you'll find something else useful
On my persona note - I guess that Mozilla presumes that you already have Android on your device, so perhaps you should base the port on system-important elements like the kernel on the Android-side
OK I'll study hard hoping to do something good for the community. If someone have some advice for me, write here please
I heard that Ubuntu Touch was available for those phones or at least that it was being worked on..
Has anyone more information about that or even a download link of a beta?
OnePlus 6 • Ubuntu Touch • Linux Phone
Switch your Oneplus 6 or 6T to Ubuntu Touch, as your open source daily driver OS.
devices.ubuntu-touch.io
Will try to install. But have to wait untill Januar, first need to buy the device.

To install it, you just need to downgrade to OOS9 and install UT by UBports Installer
I Managed to install Ubuntu Touch on the Oneplus 6 Device, it is pretty easy after downgrading the installer makes everything for you.
Next step is to get anbox/waydroid working, if anybody knows a way or a tutorial how to do that please tell me.
Found nothing helpfull in the ubports Forum.
