Root without factory reset? - Galaxy Tab S2 General

I have a special use case where I need root but I can't have my data wiped. Is there any possible way to root the device without triggering a data reset? I can't enable the Unlock switch cause that would factory reset the device

No way around multiple factory resets. One when unlocking and another when flashing the custom recovery.

[Q] Securing Nexus 4

Is there any way to secure android like ios7. In case if i loose my phone then no one can use it. Is it true a hard reset will remove my pattern or password? My phone is non rooted. Can someone install custom recovery too?

There is not fool poof way to prevent this. Even on IOS7 the security can be gotten around. Best advice is to make sure you are backing up your files.
Google does have a remote wipe option built into the Android OS. That is your best bet.
There is no full proof way to make render unusable, but you can call up your carrier and ask them to blacklist the IMEI so they can't use sim cards with it anymore.
You could however, protect your data. Do this by: encrypt your device, stock recovery, disable USB debugging, lock the bootloader. At least with this, if the device is stolen, if they don't know how to flash factory image, they'll need to enter the encrypted password to boot into the phone and can't copy over your datas.
You should also look up the app Cerberus, which with root can survive through factory reset (as long as they don't overwrite or format the "system" partition).

[Q] Galaxy Note 3 encrypted then root problem

I have an Note 3 SM900T T-Mobile I encrypted the phone then rooted with Kingo root. What is happening is when I power on phone it prompts for encryption password, I enter the correct password then green android appears then goes to black screen. After some time it will reboot and prompt for encryption again, same process over and over. Will a master reset have to be done or work?
Potentially have to reset it all to remove encryption and start from scratch. It's possible that something has corrupted, probably cause of the root after encryption.

Gave thanks, since I wanted to make sure a Master Reset was okay

Gave thanks, since I wanted to make sure a Master Reset was okay, then I did a restore and root. I left encryption alone and will further look into the posts as there is info on this after doing root not before doing root.

[HELP] I Forgot My Pattern

Hi,
I was changing pattern. Somehow I applied wrong pattern and then locked phone.
Now I can't unlock with fingerprint. There aren't any connect Google Account button even I am connected to internet mobile + wifi.
I didn't install TWRP and my phone is not rooted. Are there any way to unlock without losing any data? I can do anything possible (like root or install twrp) if I wont lose data.
wont a hard reset work
Without TWRP you can't do much...

That will delete data.
Unfortunately, hard reset is the only way out of this. Since the data on the phone is encrypted, you require the pattern to decrypt the data in order to access it. This also includes access to the hash that is generated by your fingerprints which is why you need to enter your PIN or pattern on startup before you can unlock with your fingerprint.
Bottom line, never ever forget your backup authentication method!
Edit: I can't guarantee this will work, but it's worth a try:
Visit https://www.google.com/android/find (Find My Device)
Log in with your Google account
Click "Lock" and enter a new password.
Try that new password on your phone.

Android has Factory Reset Protection. You'll need your Gmail password to unlock it even with a factory reset.

Did you set up a samsung account? In that case, just go to https://findmymobile.samsung.com/, sign in using your samsung account and then do the unlock option, it removes all locks and biometrics you have so you can get access and set new ones.
I tried doing that but get === Can't unlock your phone. Remote unlock is off.
Can i use ODIN to unlock the phone but keep data intact using HOME CSC

The password is part of the data. If you didn't bother setting up the remote unlock with Samsung, or Google, your screwed. The only way to remove the lock is to factory reset. Even then you will need the password to the Google acct.

You have to install twrp, then do backup of data partition to the sd card, transfer it to the pc then extract it.

Factory reset with root

If I need to factory reset fully my rooted 8Pro (Android 10), do I need to pay attention to anything? I dont have any saved fingerprint. I dont use TWRP. Thx!
Remove all password's/pin's.
Factory reset wipe All in youre phone. Save what you like in pc.
You will loose root.
And if you like to get youre phone like new (out of the box), you need to relock the bootloader.
