Hey!
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and it's on the latest untouched firmware, however, I haven't found a thread with exactly SM-T819Y. Can someone tell me what exactly can I do with it TWRP and ROM wise and how the bootloader situation is?
I've recently rooted/custom rommed my Redmi Note 8 Pro and have noticed that for Samsung devices Odin is used. Can someone please fill me in on bootloader unlocking etc.
See there : https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/development/rom-lineageos-17-1-t4070161. Before, you must the "Oem unlocked " .You may search how in xda or google .

Thanks. I found out this is a gts210velte, so if you need TWRP 3.4, download this.

What precise model is your Note 3? Are you 100% it is not a fake? Does the phone have "download mode"? Can you still enter "download mode"? What does it say there? Have you tried to write the latest stock ROM for your precise model? (and by model I understand platform and type, for instance on N9005 there are slightly different stock images for the 32GB EU models and the 16GB Asia models).

What i've heard if you lost your efs, many things on the phone will note work and eventually you will encounter FC messages. The only way was to restore the EFS. But you can find any other alternative like Flashing the 4 part firmware and see how it goes. If it doesnt fix your phone, keep finding.

No, you can not. Unfortunately the bootloader on the Verizon version is locked. You can flash hashcode's safestrap (found in Android Development section), and then you can flash a variety of TouchWiz based customized Verizon ROMs, but that's it.

For an explanation of bootloader go here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Bootloader
Verizon and AT&T lock the bootloader on all of their devices. No official statement as to why, but there is a lot of conjecture. In the end, it doesn't matter why, really. Sad fact is that they do it.
Several of the best developers have tried, and failed to unlock the Note 3 bootloader.
There appears to be no one currently working on unlocking the bootloader on the Verizon Note 3.
If the bootloader was unlocked, then you could flash any custom ROM and kernel that was made for Note 3.
But as of today, you are condemned to use customized variations of the Verizon Touchwiz ROM and stock TW kernel.

hey i got my note 4 (N910P) from Texas and brought it to my home country India so i just read the message but i wanted to confirm that if i flash my sprint note 4 (N910P) with a different country rom or any other rom then will it be causing any problem ? i have unlocked it but i am now facing the issues with the carrier featured applications so it is unlocked and ya of course i will keep the model no. in mind for finding the rom then it will be good to go right if i flash it with the same model no. the country doesn't matter ? also tell me how can i become sure of that it is unlocked
TIA dude
You should probably ask this in the Note 4 forum of XDA...
And no, the country doesn't usually matter as long as you are using a ROM that wasn't edited by a carrier (a lot of ROMs on sammobile, for example).

Well, one simple way is get another active SIM card, insert it and try to call someone. If it works, it's unlocked. If there's an error, it's still carrier-locked. Other option is installing GalaxSim Unlock, and open it - if it offers to unlock your phone, it's still locked, but if it says anything like "lock is not present" or "SIM Lock Status: undefined", it's unlocked.
Hi everyone!
I'm facing somewhat a serious problem which I can only hope to solve with your help.
Recently I had a Galaxy Note 3 N900 which used to run Lineage OS 14.1 and I couldn't be happier about it — the system was smooth, fast and reliable.
However, that phone was quite old and needed to be repaired, but it happened so that it'd just be easier and cheaper to buy a new one, which I did.
My Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 (N900S to be exact) arrived yesterday and the first thing I did was installing fresh LineageOS 14.1 to it.
Unfortunately, I failed at it. Despite I've managed to install TWRP recovery via Odin, the only result I get after a new installation is "Could not do normal boot" screen which doesn't go away (unless I go to recovery).
I've checked that with many LineageOS builds, both official and unofficial, still result is the same.
It is possible that anyony here know the possible solution for the issue? For that I'd be greatly thankful.
Use the report button and ask a mod to move the post to the correct Q&A section .
My Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 (N900S to be exact)
You cannot have a phone that is n9005 and n900s unless its a fake .

At a guess you have not read anything and flashed the wrong TWRP for whatever model your phone is .

So, what would be the correct section for my question then?
Considering the other part of your reply: it says "SM-N9005" on the label behind the battery, but indicates "N900S" on Odin screen (or whatever that might be).
Also, I've tried all the versions of TWRP and all of them resulted in "could not do normal boot" except for the version for N900S which I found here: https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxynote3qualcomm.html

If you have N900S pick a rom that works with that model .
SUGGEST flash stock rom download Phone Info app and see what the hardware is .

Thanks, but that's exactly the version I've already installed (since it's the only one that worked) which allowed me to install Lineage itself, unfortunately with said issues standing in the way.
As for the model name — in stock Android it said I had N9005-something
Boot failure usually a wrong kernel fault .
See rom thread .
But your first question is what model N9005 or N900S suggest ask the seller .

So I need to install a new kernel then?
As for the model, it was listed as N9005, on top of that Lineage build made for 3g (ha3g) didn't install properly, saying the aren't designed for LTE models which I seem to have (N900 doesn't have LTE as far as I know)
Repeat go to phone download mode.
Note model number.
Flash roms etc for that model .
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers Legacy app

In download mode it says "model: N900S", unfortunately none of lineage ROMs I've tried resulted in any difference (could not do normal boot — the same for all of them)
You have to read search your roms thread before flashing .

Hello. I recently bought the Note 4 device from a phone store. I made all necessary checks and discovered it's a real Note 4, however, on getting home I decided to do further checks and downloaded the Samsung info app.
Then I noticed some inconsistencies. Whilst in about phone, it is written that the phone is the n910f model, the Samsung info app states that it is n910v and even the refurbishment check says it is a refurbished phone.
I want to upgrade this phone to marshmallow and possibly install custom rooms, I am however confused on whether to download the n910f marshmallow room or n910v. Please help

Yes there are dozens of roms available but you have to unlock bootloader+Twrp recovery+root to have in order to flash any roms.
If you have patience and knowledge in samsung phones you can do it otherwise i suggest use the way you bought or just flash stock N910V marshmallow firmware via odin
You can download stock from www.sammobiles.com/firmwares.
Or if you succeed to unlocking bootloader you can go for custom roms

Thanks so much. Will do as you suggested and quote you in the future if I encounter any challenges
I had a question.
Do I have to flash TWRP for the Verizon version or the other? Cause my Bootloader says it's SM-N910V.
Thanks!
