How to add Governor to Tab A 10.1 2019 T510XXU3BTFN - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

How do I add Governor to Tab A 10.1 2019 T510XXU3BTFN? I didnt find anway on here. I wanna add SmartAssV2 and powersave; as interactive doesent save amy battery (which its supposed to do) and userspace takes a bit too MUCH battery. If your wondering I have Lineage OS 17.1 planning to update to 18 when theres a ROM for my device. I also have TWRP 3.4.0.0 Is there any way?

[Q] [Nexus 7 2012 Wifi only] Kernel with nfs support for CarbonROM 4.4.2

Hello there,
I'm looking for a way to mount nfs shares of my NAS and (debian wheezy) server in the filesystem for access of my media files.
I thought for long that it would be the most natural thing to do for my (linux based) mobile devices in a linux server environment, but it seems I'm far off.
So far I have been unable to mount these nfs shares of mine to the Nexus 7 (grouper) device running a Carbon ROM 4.4.2 Nightly Build from march this year (CARBON...20140302-0433.zip) with CifsManager, most likely due to its lack of kernel support (version 3.1.10--g90cc2cb1 bigshotrob...).
May one of you recommend a kernel that supports nfs, cifs and utf-8 for this build? I restrain from updating it as it is running smoothly and without problems (Remember? Never change a...) and I don't like to invest much time for the reconfiguration and other related stuff.
I know there is M-Kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168787) out there that claims to have exactly the requested support and compliance to the CarbonROM series. But I'm unable to sort out what version of the kernel would match my build of the ROM.
I understand that the most actual release is for versions 4.4.4, but the changelog and >200 posts I've browsed do give no hint which release was compiled for 4.4.2 ROMs.
Please note, I would ask directly in that respective thread in the development section if I could, but owing to the (imho pretty stupid) 10 post restriction of newcomers I am unable to post there.
Edit: Not necessary anymore, got my postings ...
Accordingly, my second question would be, if someone with more than 10 posts would be so kind and ask the following questions for me in the given thread?
Namely:
What version of the kernel would fit my 4.4.2 CarbonROM Build and where could I obtain it?
Does anyone had success to mount nfs shares with it (or cifs, if not) ?
Edit end
That and any alternative ways/hints to get nfs going would be highly appreciated!
Thank you very much,
Nix

Simple. Give my kernel a shot. It uses an AnyKernel installer, which then works with both ext4/f2fs ROMs. If you don't want experimental dt2w/s2w, flash 1.6.1.

Thank you for the reply snuzzo,
would you mind to give some details where to learn more of its features and where to find it?
Then I'll have a look at it.
EDIT:
Thanks for the link! But exactly what version do I have download for my Carbon ROM build above, if I'd decide to use it that is?
Presumably .../kitkat/Funky...??
BTW, are there some feature lists or such things? I'll probably browse the forum a bit, I suppose?
Cheers, Nix
Anykernel Installer. You can flash it on either an ext4/f2fs rom for /data compatibility
Overclock with 1.3Ghz max default
Under/overvolt
IO Scheduler additions: SIO BFQ ROW
CPU Governor additions: Lazy Lagfree Scary Lulzactive Wheatley (could be few more but thats from memory)
DoubleTap2Wake/Sweep2Wake in 1.6.2, disabled in 1.6.1(experimental)
Kexec Hardboot for MultiRom
Dynamic Fsync Control
Stock Google 4.7GCC prebuilt toolchain.
CIFS.
Theres a few other tweaks I made for overall UI performance other than that it follows CM-11.0 source. I build these for my own personal use but upload to share them for those who want what I run. You will want 1.6.2 or 1.6.1.

Sounds great, although most of it are books with seven seals for me
What about nfs support? And its definitely for 4.4.2 based ROMs?
Thx again,
Nix
Yes to both. It has NFS and CIFS support.
And v.1.6 is the one you'd suggest?

One more question, please - do I have to activate or load those modules manually or will they be loaded at bootup by default?
Where may I find them to insmod/modprobe them manually, if not?
Thanks for the help once more,

They will load by default.

Custom Kernel A Complete Overview For Meizu M2/Mini

Custom kernel Is Completely New Concept For Meizu M2/Mini Users So I Am Going To Clarify About It In This Post
Note:I am not responsible for any kind of damage to your device nor a developer is responsible for it.You are only&only responsible for it
Important Suggestion Please Take A Recovery Backup Of Boot.img Before proceding
How to Take Backup? See Below
1)Boot To Recovery (TWRP Suggested)
2)Go to backup and restore menu
3)Select Backup
4)In Menu Just Select Backup of Boot.img
5)Create a backup of it. :fingers-crossed:
6)You are done
Requirements
1)Bootloader Unlocked+Custom Recovery flashed
2)Device Specific Meizu M2/Mini
As you guys may noticed in before post of mine about Lineage OS&Resurrection Remix Rom post I have mentioned about custom kernel
So today i am going to clarify it how it works how it make our phone to work more fluently or degrade it performance and many more features of it :fingers-crossed:
First of All A Honourable Mention For Our Developers of Meizu m2 /mini
Qus1 (Custom kernel Devloper)

Remind me if i forget anyone :silly:
So lets Begin!
Custom Kernel
Difference Between Stock Kernel & Custom kernel.
Stock Kernel Is developed by Flyme For there os (which is Preconfigured by them)
There kernel is good for performance and good in ram management but sucks in battery for most people they all complain about battery this is an alternative way to do so
Qus1 Developed Custom kernel Big.Litle is Stable now
Stable Kernel:
Kernel V4.6 Information: Vibration standard. many supplements on the CPU.
Information about V4.6biglittle kernel:
Works with biglittle, optimized governor interactive, interactiveplus; low vibration. With specific Roms improve energy saving process.
Information about kernel V4.7 + 4.7biglittle:
Livedisplay added from source divis1969 support cm, Lineageos& Resurrection Remix.[/SIZE]
Kernel Notes v4.9: added governor: INTERACTIVEPLUS, CONSERVATIVE, THUNDERX (will suit lovers of energy savings); added tcp: BIC, HTCP, HYBLA,added ioscheduler: bfq; added dynamic synchronization fs; Off Gentle fair sleepers; Optimization added battery during charging; added 3 WiFi control mode; added ThunderQuake Engine 1.0 - Vibration Intensity Controller forvibration button and the phone is regulated in the appendix). gestures to awakening on custom bikes, sweep2wake left to right on the screen and off doubletap2wake on screen off. AIC adjustment core functions. original post varun.chitre15, were taken from the changes.
Kernel Notes V4.9biglittle: works with biglittle, optimized governor interactive, interactiveplus (max freq 1170 both); low vibration. Target nucleus improve energy saving process. Core with additions of the CPU can be used as a biglittle, and without.
Starting with V4.9 + 4.9biglittle: ksm added, initially turned off, you can turn on placing script in the system / etc / the init.d / ksmON
I Call It Big.Little Kernel :silly:
Personal Suggestion tested by me So Don't worry
Cons?
Yes it Do Have Cons Too.
What are Those ?
1)If a noob use this and tweak it improperly it can bring very strange Results. :silly:
2)Makes Display Dim so that it can save more power (If you want to use it with brightness increase brightness thats it) (In Kernel) :crying:
3)If you Enable Double Tap to sleep& Double Tap to wake function in Kernel and you stop that function in setting of OS it will still work
4)it has power to change Vibration Control Modifying it again and again can cause a hardware Failure
5)Lowering down power of cpu can cause Deep sleep
Features
1)Big.Little
Presenting you the New Innovative Big.Little Custom kernel For Meizu M2/Mini
1)You can modify vibrations level of your device
2)You can enable double tap to wake and double tap to sleep in any rom

Bootloop
Hi, I have the rom 7.1.2 Lineage OS 14.1.0 - Nougat Source 2017 installed on my Meizu M2 mini and when I try to install this custom kernel I go the recovery, install the zip and then wipe dalvik & cache but then when I reboot to the system I always get a bootlop and I need to restore the original boot. Any idea of what's the problem? Thanks
I installed it on CM12.1 v0.13 but now how to change vibration intensity?
Edit: Okay got it, from ThunderZap app

What about battery life with this kernel? How many days phone work on single charging? SOT - how many hours?

Tweaked as you said. What you mean by brightness will be reduced?I didnt experienced it.No much idea about this customing yet.Atleast I tried it now.I didn't find thunder x in cpu governor.Only interactive I found. Can you share some more settings that i can easily and safely done in kernal adiutor. As you said I am taking much caution on every step I do in it.I know if something gone wrong,my phone will be dead.
Sorry am commenting on a wrong forum. There is no Thread for my phone. Without a custom kernel, can someone flash Nougat ROM. I am using Gionee to be precise. I have tried many Nougat ROM but none of them booted.
Please help.

You can flash noughat if the rom is supported by your phone but in most cases it will not bootup if you don't have custom kernal.
Pretty good!

Solving Random Reboots problem...

I think most of vibe k5 a40 user have random reboot issue . (This method will work for every device having this problem)
I also had it till last week I tried everything to solve it as it is very irritating ...... I used almost every custom kernel and even asked their dev. about this but no my problem was not at all solved so I tried every possible setup for CPU and I got to know that it is caused because of GPU and CPU combination as most custom ROMs are optimized for different aspect I tried every custom ROM and every kernel so I came to this conclusion that
1. Don't use custom kernel as long as possible on any ROM .
2. If you are like me and has already installed custom kernel then follow these steps ...
- need root
- kernel auditor installed
Steps
- change CPU governor to performance and GPU governor accordingly for best results
CPU - GPU
-performance. - userspace. (Best setting)
-balanced. - cpufreq. (Lags)
-powersaver. - userspace. (Very lagy)
Some of us already know this I think .....
ALTHOUGH PERFORMANCE IS BEST SETTING BUT IT
CONSUME MORE POWER
I'm ON PURE NEXUS (PIXEL ROM) AND GOT 4hrs 15min
SCREEN ON TIME USUALLY BUT IN BEST SETTINGS ITS
AROUND 3hrs 20min..
At least no more random reboot issue.... But u can use your inbuilt android power saver with any combination it will definitely increase around 30 minutes ....
Respect elders and have fun. ......???

P.s. If you put the SIM in the first slot, then all is well.

Yes.
It works better than stock kernel IMO. smoother and better battery life. I've been using it for the past 3 days and it's stable.

works like a charm. good for gaming too. FPS (framerate) stable at all condition while gaming no frame drop at all.
but network lil bit unstable then stock kernel (wifi n mobile data)
thank you sir 4 your hardwork
waiting 4 next update
someone tested on LOS 15.1?
I have installed this kernel yesterday.
I think by using this kernel, when used, the battery feels more efficient, smooth performance.
but when the phone is in a state of stanby I think the battery endurance is the same as I use stock kernel.
by the way i am using rom aosp ex latest version android 8.1

Improve Redmi 2 (8GB/1GB) Performance

I own a 2014819 Redmi 2 with 8GB of internal storage and 1GB of ram. I've been using LineageOS 15.1 as of now and ever since I've installed the last update my phone hangs and freezes more frequently, and for longer time.
This happened in previous LOS nightlies and AOKP as well, it just was less annoying overall. I've tried fiddling with Kernel Adiutor, making so the minimal frequency is 1GHz rather than 800MHz, but that only made it worse somehow.
Does anyone has any idea how to make the custom rom experience more smooth on the lower-end Redmi 2? I don't wanna go back to an older rom if possible.
hi, there is no problem with cpu power but RAM! LineageOS 15.1 official builds does not use ZRAM and developers refuse to enable it (don't ask me why).
You can try to flash pico opengapps instead of recomended MindTheGapps (it will save some RAM by no including google search) and/or enable swapping (but it will probably kill your SDcard)

I had OpenGApps Nano flashed, but I avoid using Google things aside from the Play Store itself.
I also remembered that Low-RAM Property Patcher for Android is a thing and flashed the low-ram enabler. Works fine on LOS 15.1, but as said in the thread, some functionality will be disabled to improve RAM usage.
I'll use this for a while and see if it's worth it or not.
You can try Bootlegger 20180804 build, which is very good and has zram enable. And still smooth with minimal gapps installed.
