Hi guys, here is V35 with At&T firmware, the search in contacts app is not smart. I try some contacts apps but only simplier contacts give what I want (search words in any order) but it is a bit laggy. I try google contacts app in other android phones and search function is so good (example contact "John K. Old school", and when I search "john old", it shows the contact) , but search google contacts app in V35 give no results.
I think something to do with the at&t rom?
Thanks
hey mate,

When I add new contacts I always save them as Google contacts but when people call me and I don't have their numbers, I save them and they save as phone contacts for some reason. Is there any way to "copy all phone contacts to Google contacts"?
There is an App called ContactSync (free in market) which converts all your "phone contacts" to "google contacts". I spend a couple of hours yesterday sorting my contacts and set em up with google.com/contacts (first time). It was a pain in the as but worked out good in the end. The app does the job but have been reported instable on some Hero's.
However:I have another problem. It's fine that all my old contacts now are google contacts. But, when I create a new contact on my HTC Magic, theres no way to create a google contact (which it must be to be sync-able). The only options I have under "Contact Type" is SIM or Phone. I've googled my brains out but haven't found a way to create a google contact from the phone.
If someone knows a solution to this problem, please let me know.
Good Luck

I read the comments for ContactSync and it seems like everyone who has a Hero (which is what I have) had major problems with it, so I didn't want to risk it. I only have a couple of Phone contacts, is there any way to just manually copy them or re-save them?

No idea, Hero has "Google contact" as the default option. Maybe if you flash a newer rom the developer will have included it, it seems a little stupid for an Android phone to not allow Google contacts.
No idea what's wrong. First time I booted my Android phone it grabbed the contacts off my SIM and synced them to my Google account. Now I can make a contact in Gmail or in Android and it syncs to both.
Maybe make sure you have Contacts sync on in Settings -> Data Sync?

All of my contacts are saved on Google and yours should be too. Just sign into your google account from your computer to confirm it and you can even edit them.
p.s. while on google you may have to select ADD STUFF then search for contacts and add it .
Greetings!
Is there a better Contacts replacement for the M2 and other Blurred phones? I've tried GO Contacts, but it just made me miss the stock Contacts app more...
I'm trying to get used to Blur's Contacts, but the name mismatching when linking contacts from different sources (Twitter, FB, Google etc) is extremely annoying.
Does anyone have any suggestions, apart from GO Contacts?
Thanks!
Found one already? I used Dialer One on my old phone and think about using it on the MS2 as well, you might give that one a try. But that mainly affects the dialer, and not the contacts app. I was not sure which part you referred to...
You could try Contapps.
BTW i'm using Go Contacts ATM.
I use TouchPal Dialer here on my other phone.

Hi all,
In my workplace we use gmail for work. There's a directory of all employees' emails and phones. With Nexus 4 all these contacts are available through People app.
With the G2 on the other hand, I see none of these contacts. Not in Contacts app, nor in the dialer search. Only in gmail, when adding contacts in To field, but that doesn't help, because I want the phone numbers.
Is there any way around it?
PS. I tried severals ROMS. The issue persist in all LG stock roms, JB and KK, and in all custom ones that are based on stock. In AOSP I do see the contacts, as with Nexus (dahh)
anyone?
same problem here!
can anyone help?
Is there any way to make this app remember that I want all my contacts to be in google, not on device? Also, I'd like a couple of the fields to always be visible for new contacts (organization and notes).
How can I make this app remember I want these options by default? I tried Contacts+ and Simpler Contacts, but both actually used the samsung app new contact screen when I tried to add a contact. Tried clearing defaults and data for Samsung Contacts but new contacts still use the Samsung App and default to Device rather than Google
After trying other ideas found with google, tried going to google.com/contacts but they do not have a phone friendly web page for contacts.
Any ideas???
Thanks in advance!
