Hi,
Ido have redmi 3S 2/16 gb and have the following problem.
Flash in Fastboot "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" finishes sucessful
Reboot " fastboot boot twrp.img" finishes sucessful
but phone takes about 30 sec. to reboot and boots into normal system operation
I have tried several times, no success.
I can flash the phone with Miflash, everything fine. at the moment there is MIUI Global V8.1.1.0 stable on it.
Updater App also does not work correct, whenever i select a .zip to update it requires internet connection to download, but ROM is on SD card.
Any hints from the community ?
You MUST unlock the bootloader if you want TWRP flash stick and be usable.

Bootloader is unlocked, otherwise i would not have posted in Forum but forgot to mention in my first post.
But i found a very interesting way to boot into TWRP.
1. i temporarely booted into cyanogen cwm
2. restarted into recovery in cwm
3. to my surprise it booted into my previous installed TWRP
4. i could install MIUI v8 .eu rom without problems
booted into system the phone is running nice, but i cannot boot into recovery by Keys Power+ Vol+ nor via updater app.
In always boots into running system.
unique case, i'm following this...
i wish i can help but i'm not that expert
hopefuly someone with enough experience can help or at least give some information.
thanks for sharing

I have exactly the same problem with my redmi 3S 2/16 gb. I can't start twrp in any way....i will try to do your way.
Try flasher toolkit: http://en.miui.com/thread-328569-1-1.html or material twrp: http://en.miui.com/thread-346365-1-1.html

I was having similar problems. Flashed twrp from fastboot but always got stock recovery. I used the flasher toolkit. PROFIT!
I tried everything but always stock recovery is back...

Thanks for your info.
Flasher toolkit executes all the commands wich i tried already in batch file format, no luck !
Same situation here...i've tried all this bat before, not even one works. Have somebody tried TWRP by cofface ?
I didn't...No nerves anymore

i believe you...this goes really on the nerves. What is very strange is that only a few of us have this problem. I have no clue why, but it seems to me that only happens to the people with redmi 3s (2 gb/16 gb) bought recently. I am trying to figure out if this has something to do how we do the flash with Miflash (maybe which version ?), but it doesn't look at the first sight any different from what others do.
Sorry but my Redmi3S is only 10 days old 'from buying date' and TWRP-installer.bat did the job at first trial. But I discovered that the data partition came encrypted and I was forced to format all. Then I installed the new rom from OTG because I didn't have SD card available.

Just for info:
The same behaviour i had before i flashed with Miflash with the Global Stable ROM.
I cannot try anything further because i prepared the Phone for a friend of mine. FW is MIUI V8 6.11.10 beta xiaomi eu. , he is happy so far.
By the way on a Redmi 3s 2/16 from 2 months ago i had none of this at all !!!

Lol
I hv the greatest solution for this shi..t
Just go to fast boot mode by pressing volume down and power.
And
Open mi bootloader unlock tool in pc
And simply unlock ur bootloader normally
This will unlock ur bootloader again
And do whatever uh want
Flash rom again but this tym select only clean all
Device will boot normally
Thats it
This trick worked for meh..
I don't have any mi account in my device. How can I unlock the bootloader?
Unlock Bootloader officially without any Errors
Warning:-I will be not responsible for any thing goes wrong with your device. Do it on your own risk.
Requirements :- Pc with drivers installed, MI flash Tool, mi unlock tool, mi account with unlock permissions already granted, redmi note 3(obviously) and common sense.
Reason for sharing :- There are many users who still are not officially unlocked. The main reason is that they got stuck in binding MI account or stuck at 99% on Mi unlock tool. I also faced same issue. So i tried to unlock with China Developer Rom and without binding i was able to unlock officially. I have tried this method on Kenzo. For Kate Devices its little different. Some have lost hope of unlocking officially since device is quite old but try it. It may help you.
For Kenzo :-
Step 1 :- Download the latest China Developer Rom for Redmi Note 3. Link given below
http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.11.22/kenzo_images_8.11.22_20181122.0000.00_6.0_cn_a0316924f3.tgz (kenzo)
Step 2 :- Flash the above fastboot rom using mi flash tool setting option CLEAN ALL AND LOCK. And boot to system.
Step 3 :- Now bind your MI ACCOUNT. If it fails do not panic.
Step 4 :- Boot to fastboot mode and connect to PC having Mi unlock tool Running.
Step 5 :- After you are officially Unlocked. Simply flash a Kenzo global Firmware.
For Kate :-
Step 1 :- Download the latest China Developer Rom for Kenzo and latest Global Stable Rom for Kate . Links given below
http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.11.22/kenzo_images_8.11.22_20181122.0000.00_6.0_cn_a0316924f3.tgz (kenzo)
http://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.2.1.0....XM_20190114.0000.00_6.0_global_52f71e4360.tgz (Kate)
Step 2 :- Extract both the fastboot rom folders. Now go to Kate Images and Copy NON-HLOS.bin to Kenzo Images folder and replace it.
Step 3 :- Now flash the Kenzo China Rom on your Kate using Mi Flash Tool setting option CLEAN ALL AND LOCK. And boot to system.
Step 4 :- Now bind your MI ACCOUNT. If it fails do not panic.
Step 5 :- Boot to fastboot mode and connect to PC having Mi unlock tool Running.
Step 6 :- After you are officially Unlocked. Simply flash a Kate global Firmware.
Step 7 :- Flash Custom Roms and Enjoy.

Doesn't work. Mi unlock tool says phone not connected, even though it's connected and all drivers installed
I just followed the xiaomi instructions for unlocking the bootloader.
Why complicate matters with stuff like the original post?

Hello,
I tried this method on the Kate model but the mi flash tool shows the error "device mismatch". Any idea how to proceed and official unlock the bootloader on my Kate? Thanks for any hints.
With official support drop6, the most easy method is :
1. Download TWRP_ZCX for Kenzo.
2. Boot to EDL mode.
3. Flash recovery.
4. Important ! From EDM mode, press vol UP + Power and reboot to recovery (do not Boot to system otherwise you'll have to do from step 2 again).
5. Allow TWRP to modify system so as not to get replaced.
DONE ! ENJOY !
6. (Optional) Flash Latest OrangeFox , its better !
I have solved the problem and flashed everything via EDL mode and an older miflash version. Thanks for the guide, now i have officialy unlocked the bootloader
Hello guys. Yesterday I downloaded a Redmi Note 7 Pro ROM. It bricked my phone because mine is a Redmi Note 7 (not the pro versión). So, when I tried to download the stock rom vía my flash It gave me this error "Flash antirbpass error". That's why I cant flash It. Is there any other options?
(I can't acceso twrp, btw)
Fastboot rom and mi flash tool?
Sent from my Mi Note 10 using XDA Labs
Look when you're unlock that you don't relock your bootloader.
And look that u're path to like c:\rom\ not much longer

If you can put your phone in fastboot mode it's easy, 1) download stock rom. 2 ) unzip the file 3) open it ,and copy all files 3) open the file with ( xiaomi drivers ADB ) than : paste. From the files of the ROM you'll see
" flash all " connect your phone in fastboot mode double click "flash all " and flashing process will start immediately, don't remove your phone until it stops, done.

Thanks bro, It worked
Hi, last night mi friend tried to restore his Redmi Note 7 (lavender) back to MIUI using MiFlash, he was coming from a custom ROM, he ran onto some problems and interrupted the flashing process. The phone is stuck in a bootloop, has the booloader locked and can only access to fastboot and Redmi-Recovery.
We have tried almost everything with no success, mostly because the bootloader is locked, the Mi Flash Unlock tool didn't work, flashing with Mi Flash also didn't work and trying to manually flash the firmware did nothing. Right now we're planning on following a guide you can find in XDA's Redmi Note 7 forums, we're going to open the back of the phone, connect the test-points and proceed with the flashing, but we wanted to know if someone knows one of two things, if not both:
a) This method does work
or
b) There is a better method.
A few extra things:
Redmi-Recovery has "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device" written in red. We're using the GLOBAL firmware for this process, the phone is supposed to work with this version, it is the version he bought.
Try chinese firmware or rom it may work
You have probably solved this issue already but ill still type it here for others
To get the official ROM for the correct phone model you have to go here
Xiaomi Community
c.mi.com
and find the model you want
Its a zip file
For the flashing process:
REQUIREMENTS : Twrp, pc with fastboot & adb, a usb cable
1) flash twrp as recovery, if you dont know how XDA has you covered
How to install TWRP recovery on Android smartphones
Installing TWRP on an Android device is the first step towards custom development.
www.xda-developers.com
2) download the ROM in pc and transfer it in the phone in a folder of /sdcard or the internal storage (remember it!)
While you are in Twrp the device in essentially powered up and detected by a pc
3) In twrp go to install
select the file you put the ROM.zip in
and swipe the bar in he bottom to confirm the flash
Wait for the terminal to write "...Done"
4) Reboot to system
