The 'Night Vision" mode is pretty good, but it takes quite some time to process the image.
I think there are no details in the photos. I shoot with Samsung s7 edge, it can be seen that the photos are better. But this one is a lot cheaper.
I have g9 plus and s7e.

Yes, I have it installed. (MGC_7.4.104_Parrot043_v5) but the only thing I use it for is photospheres. I don't see much difference between stock and gcam tho...

For some reason most gcams don't work right on this phone, with night sight giving the same results as regular HDR+. The only one I've found that works right so far is https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1208/

This is a picture I took at 11pm(automatic mode).
Since I am not professional enough, I will leave it to you to evaluate.

If you didn't save the JPG yourself in this quality upload it somewhere else - the lettering itself shows JPG artifacts as well hinting that it has compression which will make the overall result look a lot worse then it is (or can, most likely).

I just checked it with my browser. The picture is really compressed, but there is no visual loss that can be perceived by the naked eye. (too lazy to upload the original picture)

New night mode and night sight. Night mode works great but in extreme low light is still not enough to give a usable picture. Night sight operates some kind of magic in these same situations, much better than the stock cam. But in terms of exposure and color i actually prefer the stock night mode. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EA3P_ZhhN6MgyL_irxl-GCOBVPhPtMfs/view?usp=drivesdk

Mediocre low light performance
Low light camera quality is mediocre at best, bought one for my sibling and you see lots of artifacts, noise, and very little detail even with medium lighting.
Medicore-ish...and on the bad side....
If you want somewhat GOOD low light pictures, select NIGHT MODE-> set ISO to 800-> Set Shutter time to 1s. Works wonders and it produces 10times better image with much details and like really really low noise !

I will try but this but I'm hoping we get an update where you don't have to mess with settings to get pictures at an acceptable level
I dont like it in low light.
AIS is implemented for COR-L29 in 8.2.0.131(C432GT) update.
It wasn't mentioned anywhere but if you'll take some night mode shots now you 'll notice it right away.
It uses about 6 seconds exposure and shots are not blurry at all.
It improves low light performance quite a lot actually!!
How do you know? I'm on COR-L29 on 8.2.0.130(C185GT) but my night mode shots still are blurry
You are one update behind.
It's implemented on 8.2.0.131(C432GT)
Low light could definitely be better, but still far superior to other device in its price range.

Use modded Gcam or any other good camera app other than the stock app! You're sorted.

sorry to bother you again man, but can you make a google photos album of pictures taken with Gcam mod like potrait shots, low light shots and normal shots for say group pictures. or if you have a Youtube channel, a video of stock and Gcam comparsion will be awesome if you're willing to do it.

I looked at the Gcam link in your signature:
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-parrot043/
That page says that "New versions from Bulkin043 are now shared on his new Parrot043 GCam page.", which is here:
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-parrot043/
What version of Gcam is working best for you?
Are any of the versions translated from Russian to English?
Thank you!
I'd recommend this version https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog640/
just a few things to remember . .
1 - it can take something like 20 seconds to process a HDR+ photo after you take it with the version i posted . There are some versions that do it a lot quicker , but they dont use sabre .. thats googles image processing software to increase image quality .
2 - night-sight photos may look blurry because we dont have image stabilisation , just try to hold the camera as still as possible or rest the phone on something
i've compared many photos to my old honor 9 which was said to have a great dual camera setup , and the G7 power with gcam just blows it out of the water

It's terrible in low-light. Use Google cam for usable images in low-light.
I dont think so majority of people know how to make the best use of pro mode.

Obviously long-exposure shots will be brighter than regular shots. Not everyone will use a tripod, I'm talking about Night mode.
The phone's hardware is fine, great in fact. But the software is just awful. Here are some shots using Gcam and stock cam. The first 2 are from stock cam, night mode on, badly over-processed, and noisy as hell. The 3rd and 4th shots are cleaner, less noise, more vivid, and a lot more detailed are from Gcam.
