Anyone have luck getting the root version. Of YouTube vanced working on A11
I can get it to install by using SAI but it will continually crash randomly
try to download the vanced manager from their website, then you have the option to install the root version
Yeah, download the second to last vanced manager from their GitHub. The latest one was not opening. I used the non root method while I wait for xxx rom updates. The non root doesn't have your history. The root method involved removing all sig verification.
Hi guys
Do you know how to set youtube vanced as default when I click on a link in Opera? At the moment it defaults to youtube and when I disable it, it opens via Opera and no option to select Vanced.

I have disabled YouTube app but still can't play in Vanced when I select a link via the browser, it just plays in the browser.

My 6p was stock rooted using the "old" method with modified boot image (i.e. not systemless). I manually flashed the 6.0.1 update and apply superSU 2.62 (i.e. systemless root). The youtube app worked after the first boot, but when I rebooted the 6p the youtube app no longer works -- I kept getting "Please check your network connection". I uninstalled the app, clear app data/cache but to no avail. I even reflashed 6.0.1; again, the youtube app worked in the first boot, but no afterwards.
I've been on wifi all the time, and I could watch youtube from my browser by going to m.youtube.com (and use adobe flash).
Everything else works after the 6.0.1 update. I really don't want to have to do a factory reset. Please help!
try flashing an older version of youtube
Or, is it because two different root processes were used? Thought I read in another thread that causes issues????

Thanks. I tried that but it didn't work ("App not installed"). In fact I tried to install an old version in multiple ways:
* just install it from ES file explorer
* freeze the current one first using TB and then install
* put a copy of the old one in /data/app/com.google.android.youtube-1 and then install
* put a copy of the old one in /system/app/Youtube and then install
Same error message.

Never heard of that -- could you give me a reference? (I'm not disagreeing with you; I just want to learn more about it).
When I upgrade from 6 to 6.0.1. I reflashed everthing except userdata and recovery; in particular I had to reroot my 6p. I assume that would have erased the old root processes? (this is a question)
Please help me get back youtube!

uninstall all updates to the youtube app. then, flash clear youtube 10.43 LP-MM - from here http://teamblackedout.com/Transparent/ . I flashed it using TWRP, it installs as a system app, replacing your stock youtube app. so if you want to keep the stock youtube app make a backup or know how to pull the stock gapp from the stock factory images.
my youtube didn't work earlier, this is what i did and now it's all working right again
Edit: important that it's the MM version (marshmallow) if you grab it from that link

Thanks! Question: How would I uninstall all updates to my current youtube app?
On my older devices, under Settings>Apps>Manage Apps there is indeed a button for "Uninstall updates", but I can't find that on my 6p (or even my KitKat or Lollipop devices). I probably missed it; please help!

Yea I noticed that was weird. You can do it by hitting the uninstall button in Google play. It'll ask "do you want to uninstall updates"
Or from that system app menu you mentioned, you can select De activate app and it'll ask you if you want to uninstall updates

Thanks, but there is a new problem: On my 6p I don't even have the option to uninstall the youtube app!
I just notice that, according to TB, my phone only has one version of the youtube app; maybe that's why I can't uninstall updates? What would happen if I just flash the zip directly without uninstalling all updates?

if TiBu doesn't say "updated" then you just have the stock system youtube. i flashed the team blackout zip right over that system version and it fixed my problem. if you're problem is the same as mine, it should work.

The zip did remove the youtube system app. I then rebooted and successfully installed an older version of youtube. However, this older version (10.11.55) still gives me the "Check your network connection" error, and according to xprivacy this older version got installed as a system app!
When I first fired up the newer installed, older youtube I got a spinning circle on the screen. It seemed to try to log into my account and couldn't; maybe that's the network connection problem it refers to? BUT: (1) the play store works, (2) I've never logged into youtube (account blocked by xprivacy), (3) when I remove all xprivacy restriction the app still didn't work, (4) when I tried to manually sign into youtube it did not recognize my account!
I'm really confused. Suggestions and comments are most welcome!

10.11 may be too old a version. I just know 10.43 worked for me. i'd try that one if i were you
edit: if you flashed the 10.43 zip already, then installed 10.11 over it, you'd just need to uninstall updates to youtube and try to run the system version (which should be the 10.43 you flashed). also, try wiping YouTube app data in TiBu

I installed a 64bit 10.43 youtube apk, but that didn't work either. So I uninstalled it from TB, but the youtube icon still showed up in the application tray even through the app not longer worked when I clicked on it. Instead of using the cleaning zip I used instead the root explorer option in ES file explorer to remove this left-over youtube apk. Reboot, youtube now was really gone from the app tray. Then I reinstalled the 10.43 apk, and wa la, it worked even after multiple reboots!
I don't exactly know what happens; I'm just glad that it works THANKS!

The most stable version is the vanced (non-root) version, try that and install microG.
I installed the beta 15 and did not install the youtube vanced as root from twrp, with the beta 14 I had no problem. I tried to remove youtube but nothing is impossible for me to install youtube vanced.
Working great as Magisk module, if you can't delete the YouTube app try to use permissive mod
Open terminal emulator (root required).
Type 'su', press enter, type 'setenforce 0'.

Youtube Vanced cause a lot of problem like :
- On Oreo/P : One YV is installed, you can't remove apps from Titanium, you delete app and when you reboot, app is not deleted
- On P : Once YV is installed, Substratum overlays are not applied/installed after reboot
You can always use the original app and patch with a famous patcher tool is you have "lucky"
In the app you have the ability to patch Youtube for add "background/disable ads", and for be sure (remove ads), use Adaway

Do you mean only the Youtube original app itself cannot be removed or other apps too?
I can uninstall System apps without any issues with magisk module of YV as mentioned above.

It works also with enforcing(for me)
I've got perfectly working Magisk module, but would like to install the latest versions. I manage to i stall it with Split APK installer. Install MicroG, Vanced afterwards (with Root enabled and signing of APKs also enabled). It seems to work, but I can't login. It always tells me my account already exists on the device.
Anyone succeeded with installing it and logging in? Split APK installer complains about MIUI preventing the installation, until recently. I'm on latest Mi9 Xiaomi.eu ROM, so the install works.

Try signing out of normal YouTube and clearing all data in both apps. if you have magisk why not install root version of vanced, its better, you don't need micro g

I just went for the latest build without split installer, and it works fine for me, maybe you should try that. Also, uninstalling stock youtube or reinstalling microG might help too
(I have the latest xiaomi.eu rom)
Also, wrong thread - next time, post questions to Q&A

For Magisk, use the YouTube Vanced module you will find and install by using Magisk Manager (or download directly from Magisk repo)
Before that, go to Playstore and for the YouTube app, disable automatic update (top/right three dots).
Then uninstall YT.
Finally install Vanced module and reboot
The magisk Youtube Vanced is outdated as hell
Yes install the new one it all works brilliant on miui, it looks more difficult than it actually is

I would like to replace the System apk from Youtube with Youtube Vanced like with magisk to get the Google assistant Integration .
With the sai installer you install it next to the original youtube without Google assistant features
I think you need to install the root version to have all features.

I have YouTube disabled, Magisk Vanced installed.
In order to install Vanced root without Magisk I cleared data from Vanced module, remove it and reboot.
Installed microg and in Split APK installer I enabled Sign before installing and installed.
YouTube works, but I'm not logged into my account. Once I try to log in, it tells me that I'm already logged in on the device.
So... How?

I'll keep trying. I've got YouTube unistalled from System, so there should not be any conflict. Still can't log in.
Are you sure you are installing the root version? When I installed it I didn't even have to log in. All I did was just like the guide on their site says
1. I disabled the apk verification
2. Installed apks with the SAI
And that's all, it works

I'm on latest eu MIUI as well (20.5.14, davinci device), but there is no option to disable the verification as eu devs have hidden the switch to deactivate MIUI optimization under developer settings....
So could you please tell me how did you disable the signature verification?
Yea have the same question.
How did you disable the verification on MIUI 11 (Android 10)?
You don't have to disable miui optimization. You can use lucky patcher to disable app signatures and install with sai

Hi, I'm on 1+8pro rooted with OOS 11.0.8.8.
I was wondering if it is possible to enable MEMC on Youtube vanced video. Since it is not official youtube app MEMC doesn't recognize it.
Any solution?
I thought I could systemize YT Vanced but I don't know if it is the right thing to do
I believe, if you install the root variant, then MEMC will work on it, since it's the same package name as the original app.
If you installed it via the non-root method with microG, then it won't work even if you systemize it, because the package name is different compared to the original.
The problem with the root install, if I'm not mistaken, is that it gets attached to the Play Store and it'll constantly try to update it.
I have let go of MEMC on YT Vanced, because of the constant problem with the updates.

All you have to do is go into play store search YouTube and on top right 3 dots click that and uncheck auto update and you shouldn't have issues
disable auto-update on play store
