Galaxy s10+ middle east call recorder is not here - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Hello everyone
First of all I'm sorry for my bad english
I just bought galaxy s10 plus instead of my old note 9
In my old note 9 was have built in Samsung call recorder
I can't find it in my new s10+
I know there is some countries have official call recorder in there phones
So can i just download official stock room from any of this country's and flash it with Odin to my s10plus And have the same futures like them ?
Can any one help me with that
I use call recorder almost all the time because of my work
Thank you all

Google took it out as of Android 10. You have to use a 3rd party one now. Flashing another countries ROM will most likely brick your phone.

What i can do insted of this to get call record working

You mean instead of using a 3rd party app from the Google Play store? Well, if you're on Android 10 bootloader 2 then you can downgrade to Android 9 using Odin. If you're on the latest version of Android 10 though, you can't downgrade as it's bootloader 4 I think. Other than that, your options are limited to finding a phone running Android 7 or Android 8.

[Q] Nexus Q apk?

for w/e reason it's not letting me find the app in Google Play. perhaps my ROM (AOPK)
does anyone know a way to get the apk? I just got my Nexus q
update:
I installed Jelly Bean and was able to download it
If the apk isn't locked to your device (with the encryption they announced at I/O) - can you post it? I'd love to have a peek inside!
Questions go in the Q&A section - not the Dev section
The google play description of the nexus q app claims that will work on anything with gingerbread and above, the app right now appears to only work and be listed for jelly bean devices
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I installed a JellyBean Rom on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus for it to work.
here is the apk from a Titanium Backup it probably wont work lol but you never know
http://db.tt/Gf1AZApt
Thanks for posting the apk. I was unable to get it from the Play store as it's unavailable in Canada at the moment (seems silly, but whatever). I installed the app from your link and it works great! I'm listening to music on my Q as I type this.
glad to hear it actually works. I had my friend try it out on his G2x with no luck so I wasn't sure

What is yours android version?
Crud, I just bought a Q on E-Bay thinking I would get it quicker (it was also about $100 cheaper) than waiting for Google to ship me one but the APK won't install on my Bionic running the leaked ICS build. The Q application in the Play Store also says it's not compatible with either of my devices (the other being a Xoom running ICS) even though the description says it's compatible with Gingerbread and above. I assume that when the Q actually starts shipping they will fix this issue with the market application but my brilliant plan to get a Q sooner will be for naught!
I know its ridiculous but part of me is tempted to go buy a Nexus 7 or Galaxy Nexus off of Ebay so I'll have something to control this with when it gets here!

I would just wait or else buy a Galaxy Nexus. My kids have Galaxy Nexus phones so I just rooted theirs and installed JB to work with my Nexus Q. The original shipments of the Nexus Q were supposed to ship 2-3 weeks from Google I/O so the app should be available anytime.
I think it is dumb for Google to not have it available now. If I was a developer who got it free I would want to be able to try it out with my friends. After all it is supposed to be a social media device. It restricts the social aspect if it is only available on JB devices.

I wonder if they have it restricted to JB to try to prevent developers from selling theirs, if so I don't think it's working very well based on the number of them on eBay - LOL.
I'm going to be really bummed later this week when I get my Q and have nothing to control it with though.
I wonder if the problem is just the API level it's looking for or if there is something actually missing in ICS that prevents it from running properly with the current build.
Pretty sure it is somehow country specific in Play.
I was unable to install the apk to my JB Nexus 7 which I got at I/O. Being at home in Sweden. I was also unable to install it on my ICS Gnexus with a Telenor sim-card. I was however able to install it on my JB Gnexus (the one I got at I/O) which had my T-mobile sim-card.
I purchased two of these devices on ebay.
But I can't use them because I don't have JB device!
The above APK did not work on a rooted AT&T Galaxy Note with ICS.
I called and talked to google, and they said the non-JB package would be released when the product ships.
Just received the one I bought off of eBay and it sure is pretty - too bad I can't use it yet!
Any developer that can get the apk working on ICS before the official release from Google would get an automatic and significant donation from me (as well as my eternal gratitude)!
Despite my incredible lack of experience (absolutely 0) I did manage to get the apk to install on a couple ICS devices after modifying the manifest, rebuilding, resigning and re validating it (I will add my thanks to all the people's tools I used to do this later, I promise!!). I have it running on my unlocked and rooted LTE Xoom with the released ICS build and my Bionic running locked and unrooted leaked ICS. Both are a bit flakey however and both are telling me I need to update the Play Music application even though I've manually upgraded both to the 4.3.605 build. I did manage to get them to go through the network setup page and say it connected, showed services as Movies and YouTube but then both show it unavailable. I've reset the Q a couple of times and went back through the setup but so far I still can't manage it from either device. Right now my brain is cooked so I'll have to try it again tomorrow afternoon! Thanks for everyone here for their amazing contributions, I really hope the Q becomes a legend in Android history (in a very good way).
Ok, this is the APK on my rooted Verizon GNex, I'm using a ROM with JB to control my Q.
Hope it helps...
Well, I'm still stuck in the same place as yesterday but I decided to upload my modified APK in case anyone wants to try it on their ICS device.
WARNING!! I don't know what I'm doing and only managed to get this far thanks to awesome tools from others - use this file at your own risk!!!!!!!!!
If anyone can look at this thing and figure out why it won't let me connect to the Q after initial connection that would be awesome but I'm guessing that's not very likely either.
Thanks to: Kornyone his awesome work so far and telling me that changing the manifest got it working on his ICS device, Raziel123x for the Apk Multi-tool I used to sign this after modifying it and to iBotPeaches and Brut.all for the apktools. I apologize if I'm making you look bad with my unsuccessful efforts to use your excellent work.
Well, I've made a little bit of progress as I can now connect to the Q and change some rudimentary settings like HDMI, Optical, Brightness, etc. but it still tells me I need to upgrade the Play Music application, takes me to the Play Store and that of course tells me I have the latest build. Neither the Play Music or YouTube applications have the little button at the top to make it play on the Q. I also don't see anywhere to enable USB debugging as some others have been able to do, I was going to unlock it but can't access it via ADB without debugging turned on. Am I just missing that option somewhere else in the menu? It's not covered in the help topics at all.
I'm slightly pleased with myself for even getting it to install and connect but now I'm stuck again. :crying:
Any suggestions (other than buying a JB device or just waiting for the official app from el goog)?

EMUI 5.1 for MHA-AL00C00

As a result of the research I conduct as a part of FunkyHuawei, I've currently got my hands on what looks to be a prerelease version of EMUI 5.1 for the Mate 9, Chinese version (I also have the same build for the Mate 9 Pro). I will be installing it, testing it out, and posting my findings here.
Initial observations:
The boot logo/sound is the same as EMUI 5.
The touch response is VERY NOTICEABLY improved.
The performance is very noticeably improved. Apps open instantaneously.
Although there are strings that indicate it's EMUI 5.1 in the filesystem, 'about phone' still shows Android 7.0 EMUI 5.0
Wifi throughput has improved. I previously got 100mbps, I now get 180mbps.
There is a need to enter an employee Huawei ID login, but I was able to bypass this by not having internet connectivity when starting the phone the first time. Still, it comes up and blocks access to the phone periodically. I'm looking to find a more permanent way around this.
Update: I've gotten around it by rooting and freezing the beta app with Titanium backup. I'll use this as a daily driver and see how it goes.

The difference in touch response time is incredible. Typing feels like typing on an iPhone now.

Is there the new Portrait mode in camera?
I believe the P10 and Mate 9 share the same camera hardware and since the small P10 has the same features as P10 plus I expect the Portrait feature to come to the Mate 9 as well.
Are there any voice assistants included, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa?

It's the Chinese version, so no alexa or google. I will be looking into US version betas soon.
I didn't notice any extra camera modes yet. I think this is only the second EMUI 5.1 beta for the Mate 9, though, so it might be coming.
What about notifications.... Facebook, Instagram, Viber, messenger.... Have you test if it's been fixed to this version?

Notifications still have issues, as far as I can tell. Not very good news. Of course, this only applied to the Chinese version.

After full debrand (with your funkyHuawei) did you notice any problems?
I'm from Greece... It's better to debrand to Europe or International version?
I have already take bootloader unlock code in any case but I have never use all this method with adb etc

With recent version 158, I've never had notification problems. But unless it uses google services for the notifications you have to keep it open in the background. I think Greece would be European version.
Oh my goodness.... Could you clarify how touch response for emui5.0 compares to 5.1??
I'm on build b138 emui 5.0 and already I find this the fastest Android I ever got

The change log gives us no new information, but the latest build number is B202 (there is also a B201). Looking at the update.app, there are strings which indicate that it is EMUI 5.1 -- it is also maintained separately from the EMUI 5.0 closed betas, the latest of which is B173.
More information coming once I've installed it. I'd guess roughly around 7 or 8 hours after this post.

[MARCH 10] Good Lock 2019 with Android Pie support

Good Lock 2019 with Android Pie support is finally here.
Many Good Lock fans were not excited to see that most of its apps and plugins no longer functioned properly when the*One UI beta*was released for the Galaxy S9 last year. The development team later confirmed that they were working to make Good Lock compatible with Android Pie.
For those who are unaware, Good Lock provides users with an array for customizable features for their handset. The first ever Good Lock app was released in 2016 with compatibility for Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Samsung then*updated the app in 2018 with support for Android 8.0.
The core features in Good Lock*include Quickstar, Lockstar, Task Changer, Routines, Clockface, Edge Touch, Edge Lighting and more. The development team has said that the updated version brings some improvements for these features as well.
Task Changer gets new styles for recent apps while MultiStar enables some of the Multi Window functionality that was removed from Pie due to some Google policy. Much of the functionality remains the same so you’ll be familiar with it if you have used Good Lock 2018.
Good Lock 2019 does not remove geographical restrictions. It’s only available to users in the United States, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Samsung’s list of supported markets isn’t complete but some other markets like India do have it as well. It can be downloaded there*from the Galaxy Store.
Do keep in mind that Good Lock 2019 with Android Pie support is available for the Galaxy Note 9 and older flagships running Pie. It does not work with the Galaxy S10 currently. An update will be released later with support for the new flagship series. Those who have Good Lock installed already can update from within the app or get the APKs and install them manually.

TUTORIAL :
What you want to do is hold down on the home screen on Nova Launcher and hit widgets. Then, choose the activities widget. Then once it loads, look for the apps that you have installed. The list of the ones I have been able to found are: Lockstar, One Hand Operation+, QuickStar, Routines. Edge Lighting+ and Edge Touch have their own icons.
Good Luck
You don't need nova for this to work, Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut
Then click on try in the app.
How to install Samsung Good Lock 2018 on Samsung Galaxy phones running Oreo
Download and install the files contained in this .zip file.(https://wetransfer.com/downloads/5ef2727cdf87c8fe225421b22b3f1a8a20180615131746/44936f)
Install QuickShortcutMaker from the Google Play Store and open it. You are going to need to do this every time you want to change settings for some good lock features because the Good Lock UI is broken in any country that isn’t South Korea.
There are different app names for each feature to change. You need to do this for LockStar (Lock Screen Options), Routines, QuickStar (Quick Settings Options), and Task Changer (Recents Menu Options.) You can click on this then select the first activity in the list. Then click the button that says Try, it will open the settings and allow you to use the Good Lock tools. You will need to do this every time you want to change the settings until Samsung releases Good Lock for other countries.
Can somebody help me with the lockstar app ? It won't show a clock and I can't select apps . Don't know what's wrong with it .
The clock is activated in the show tab so it's not that
Any ideas what apps or settings maybe conflicts with the lockstar ?

thinking of buying a one plus device (9 Pro)

i have a qustion, for you one plus users..
im a pixel nexus user for a long time.
no pixel 5 xl this year. (BUMBER)
question is if i root the one plus device can i get all google apps . that i grown to love all these years. ????
i dont want to custom ROM . i could live with Oxygen OS
Yes, you can. And if you also root, you can get the Google dialer framework as well
Yes, a lot of google App's are included in stock os. The one's not included can be downloaded from the playstore...
Your thread says 9Pro, but this is the 8Pro.
I did not think there was a 9pro thread yet..
I was under the impression that some Google apps, are exclusive to pixel.
Like for example
Camera app.
Phone app.
Google assistant.
Calendar.
Digital well-being.
Live transcribe and sound notifications.
Just to name a few..
The phone and the camera app really are the only things that the oneplus doesn't have. The camera app is easily installed without root. I think for the phone app to work seamlessly, you'd need to root your phone.

If I flash OREO custom ROM, will my Note 4 still represent as marshmallow in Play Store ?

Hi friends,
Background: I have DirecTV Streaming Service for my home because it offers 5.1 surround.
I HAD their mobile app on my Sprint Note 4 but before Sprint was purchased by T-Mo I was prompted to update the app in the Play Store.
When I tried a dialog popped up saying that my Android 6 Marshmallow phone was no longer compatible and that DirecTV Stream now required Android 7, Android 8 recommended.
If I successfully flash an OREO 8.1 ROM will the Play Store permit me to update my app or will they see that I am a Note 4 and deny me ?
And although YTTV/Hulu etc apps still work on Marshmallow they have poor audio for my home surround system .
No, it will only see the actual version of Android.
I actually flashed CRDROID Oreo 8.1 and was then able to download the latest apk from the playstore.
Installed and ran perfectly...
BUT, my WIFI connection repeatedly disconnected.
So did my bluetooth.
And my S-Pen was neutered.
Battery life abysmal.
Also, OREO was simply baffling to me.
Nothing like the Marshmallow that I am used to.
I wish that there was a way to "spoof" my android version and APPEAR as Nougat 7.
The Note 4 itself proved that it can run the app A-OK.
When Sprint died I just assumed that the latest Samsung offering would be better than my 7 year old phone.
So I bought a brand new A52 in August 21.
$450.00 wasted.
I hate it.
Stupid aspect-ratio results in black bands while streaming.
The display IS an inch wider (in landscape mode), 6.7 inches vs 5.7 inches.
BUT, considerably shorter (in landscape mode) which translates to LESS screen area.
As a result, typing is nearly impossible on the diminished keyboard.
No replaceable battery.
No S-Pen.
Overall, a big step BACKWARD !
<rant off>

Thanks pal...I have only flashed the OREO I mentioned so I am a very green newbie.
I have seen positive comments about Pixel so I will give it a shot.
Android 9 > 8. Any apps for 8 will work on 9 (or 10 and 11 and so on)
Hi Gang,
I thought that I'd update my results for those who are interested.
I eventually got comfortable flashing the Custom ROMs/GApps and tried many variants from 7(Nougat) up to Lineage 18.1(Android 11).
I tried a Pixel Experience package with included GApps that was very nice but on THIS particular ROM the DTVS(DirecTV Stream) APK would not install.
I suspect that the very comprehensive included GApps somehow betrayed my device's true identity.
All the other ROMs that I successfully flashed permitted the installation of the DTVS APK and it streamed flawlessy on each of them.
I do not understand why Marshmallow 6.0.1 is no longer considered sufficient.
Anyway, in the end I was really enjoying CRDroid 10 but something I had not considered made this entire exercise moot.
My home has terrible cellular reception and WIFI-Calling is indispensible for phone connnections.
What I had not realized was that WIFI-Calling is associated with each carrier's customization and cannot be incorporated into Custom ROMs as it is closely held proprietary information.
And so I have returned to the stock T-MO ROM I started out with.
Like anyone else I must be able to reliably contact emergency services for police, fire, medical, etc.
So my current solution is to leave my Mint Mobile SIM Card installed in the Note 4 while I am at home.
And if I wish to stream DTVS(via cellular) while I am out and about I must transfer the SIM to my Huawei Mate 10 which runs EMUI 12 (Android10).
It lacks WIFI Calling so it cannot be my home phone, BUT, it streams DTVS perfectly on a nice 16:9 display (no black bands on each side).
Swapping the card is a hassle but it's the best option I could think of.
I hope other users can somehow profit from my experience.
Weird. The app is not looking for the phone model; it's looking for the Android version.
Correct !
I can only assume that the model and droid version are conflated since the Note 4 was last updated in 2015 (marshmallow 6.0.1) and no further updates were/are authorized.
And so if the app sees Note 4 it can only be 6.0.1 max.
Just guessing here.
I spent alot of time studying build.prop mods to spoof my version but that never panned out.
I feel like I need to restate this: it doesn’t care if you have a note4 and limit based on that. It only limits based on version of Android.
Weird that PixelExperience didn’t work….

Trying to understand how this might work to make MY android version masquerede as a newer version that would permit the installation of the DTVS APK.
It appears that having rooted via Chainfire that I would need to unroot and then start over with Magisk.
Something about the stock boot.img being patched creating an obstacle to the installation.
Has anyone successfully installed Magisk while previously rooted ?
I tried and the app installs but two critical buttons are grayed out at the bottom of the app.
SU and Modules.
Anyone ???
