Samsung will be hosting a press conference in New Delhi on May 31 to launch the Galaxy S III in India but the smartphone is likely to be available a week later. Multiple sources have told BGR India that the Galaxy S III will be available on store shelves around June 8. Even online retailers are expecting units to be available for shipping from June 8 onwards.
We are also hearing that the Galaxy S III will be priced at Rs 39,990. This is likely to be the MRP and not the street price. However, considering the high profile nature of the Galaxy S III, we cannot confirm whether the phone will retail at Rs 39,990 for the first few weeks or will it, like all other phones, have a different market operating price as soon as it is launched. At the moment, Samsung is taking pre-bookings for the Galaxy S III and is offering a free Bluetooth headset for those who commit Rs 2,000 to reserve their unit.
The Galaxy S III will compete with the HTC One X, which was launched in India for Rs 37,899 and is now retailing at about Rs 36,000. Samsung might just put a premium on the Galaxy S III, considering the success of the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Note as well as its marketing muscle, which would easily overshadow what HTC has done so far for the One X. Ideally, HTC could gain some additional sales were it to slash the price of the One X but that is unlikely to happen.

Nice June 8 isn't too far from now. I'm excited for Indian users as a lot of them are into samsung devices and also great developers like Gadgetcheck.

I was just on Verizon website, and they now have a better deal than free home mini and $300 off with trade-in. It's now no more free home mini, but 50% off with trade-in. Making the 128GB $474.99 before tax.
And apparently because I pre-ordered and have up to 30 days after receiving P2XL to execute the trade-in, I'll be getting the home mini still as well.

Dammit Ricky, it doesn't take rocket appliances lol. That's ok, I'll live. I do realize that's what most of us are here for but I'm busy enough with work here at home. If eventually there's an exploit then by all means great but if not, still fine, the phone is fast already and I only take pics, make calls, and text with my phones.
Guys,
Who all are getting the S20+?
Is there any indication on the launch date and availability date? Also, which all variants will arrive to India?
Unpack event is on 11th Feb if the strong rumors turn into reality.
I'm curious whether India would get the Snapdragon variants or not.... as it might happen this time around.
Eying on the "Ultra", hope in reality it makes sense getting one and not just for namesake compared to the S20 & S20 Plus!
I really wish for Samsung Flagships to have "Snapdragon" processor in India. Been using Galaxy Series Flagships for the last 4 years and I always find other company flagships with Snapdragon/Bionic to be better in Gaming Performance & Gcam Support.
With the rise of Mobile Gaming, it's a perfect time for Samsung to offer Snapdragon variants in India. I don't know for others but I am going to switch to a different company for my next phone if Galaxy S20 Series doesn't have a Snapdragon offering in India
Anyone planning to get S20+ or the ultra?, I am thinking about getting the S20+
US pricing are expected:
S20 : 999$
S20+ 1199$
S20 Ultra: 1399$
These are the Prices for 5G Models, we will probably see the 4G versions except the Ultra and hence price would be lowered compared to these.
Shipping is expected on March 6th.

I'd get the Ultra if they launch it in India.
Disappointed,
Ultra with no curved screen, same FP sensor, 120hz restricted to FHD+, only 5x optical zoom(rumors said 10x) and finally Exynos for India.
Premium price they pay in the US is for the 5G aspect which is kinda acceptable, in India its gonna be a loot if they maintain the same pricing.
It now looks like a A series phone.
My Note 10+ looks premium still, might still buy it if Samsung has improved their image processing with their new sensor else wait for a more polished Note 20.
Samples of s20 plus looks average at best.

Does have a 10x Hybrid optical zoom.
Just called Samsung Opera house Bangalore, they say the price range is between 80k to 120k for new launch phones this month.
Looks like S20 is gonna start from 79,999/- and go all the way up to S20 Ultra 512GB or the Z flip at 1,19,999/- .......insane prices.
India launch date 18th or 19th Feb.

Sent by Samsung Cafe guy here in Bangalore. eSIM not really sure.
I have pre-ordered the s20 ultra which is available only in cosmic grey 12GB
I will go for it if I get a good trade in for my Note 10+.
RecycleDevice is showing 50k whereas Samsung guy says not more 44k for my old device.
They are yet to announce the upgrade cashback offer, expecting a usual 6k for upgrade :silly:
Looks like the Ultra version is a limited edition and will not be available post launch....got to know this when I went yesterday for another pre booking for my friend wer the Samsung guy refused to take a booking for ultra(may be a marketing gimmick)

Yup, but the Samsung docs say upto 10x lossless zoom (a combination of digital and image cropping) which should be fine.
By the look of the samples on Youtube...looks fine for me.
I am contemplating to jump the gun from S20 Ultra to Note 20 Ultra, pending camera reviews and comparison.
Any one else?
Any news on launch/prices etc?

I have already decided to jump ship a month back. I have convinced myself on the smaller battery, smaller screen compared to S20 Ultra, 120hz FHD+.
But yesterday's news on exynos 990 is a little upsetting and making me look towards iPhone 12 in Sept.
Price should be same as S20U. around 90k for 12/128GB. Launch date 21st Aug.
Yeah I am look at maybe going to the iPhone 12
I've zero interest in an Exynos 990 powered "flagship" for late 2020.
Unless they release a Snapdragon version in India, Note 20 can't be a day 1 purchase like all the previous Samsung devices. After all these years, Samsung's image processing sadly hasn't improved, the skin tones and fine details still look smeared.. am hoping Nokia can release a proper flagship this year..else, looking out for Asus ZenFone 7 Pro to see if that's a better alternative. This year, I can't waste money on another Samsung device if the image processing and Exynos crap still continue.
Z fold 2 also is a viable option...which ll be released with Snapdragon SoC in India. But day to day usage with a very sensitive screen and kids around becomes tough to choose.
I miss the boxier design of the Note 10 plus.
Now that exynos is confirmed, hoping Samsung has done some improvements to match the 865.
Happy that the base storage is 256GB and the frame is stainless steel.
Launching tomorrow...excited and I'm getting it.
Looking forward to
1. Overall improved camera and better zoom quality
2. Spen with 9ms response time
3. LTPO dynamic 2X display
4. Wireless DeX
5. Better heat/battery management
6. Mystic Bronze brushed corning gorilla glass 7
All these should definitely make it a better experience from S20 Ultra

No, just the 3rd offer in case you are not eligible for the other 2.
1,04,999 is the actual cost.
Ultra is coming in 5G.
One disappointment with the prebook offer is...currently the 10k estore credit cannot be used on Galaxy Watch 3 45mm.

Checked recycledevice, for S20U, 1 to 5 months old they quote 62k as cash and 65k as amazon pay balance.
On samsung website it shows 54k only which is bad.
I'm thinking of trying out recycle device asap as my ultra be will 5 plus months old coming 13th Aug

I will have to wait for the launch.. i cannot use an iPhone as my daily driver
Also, whats this confusion about 128/256GB.. i thought Ultra will start with 256GB
I think, if I get anything over 52K for the Ultra, I will be fine!

In India, Note 20 Ultra 5G comes in just 1 variant that is 256GB and 2 colors (Bronze and Black, no white )
As for the recycledevice website, it would be my first experience with it. Cashify also quotes 55k only.
Edit: I was expecting the price to be lesser than S20 Ultra, but OnePlus is to be blamed here, they hiked the price and marketed 8 Pro as 5G device letting Samsung follow suit.
