It seems all the links from @moonbutt74's development days are dead now. I managed to get his custom recovery by digging through countless replies in several threads, but I cannot seem to find any links to the stock kernel. I am hoping I missed it or that it is somewhere I am unaware of.
Thanks

I searched up and down the forums for a link to the stock kernel and came up empty handed.
Can someone share a link to it?
(I'd like to be able to flash back to stock kernel when trying the dev kernels.)
Stock Kernel can be found HERE

Hey guys i have come from the Galaxy ace forums and my friend wants to upgrade his SGS which i agreed to do
He's on stock right now and wants to experience CM and root
I searched a lot and did not get a full proof guide for complete upgrading from stock
can anyone please guide me
And after searching the development section i concluded to flash Slim beans...it looks promising and stable
Please help me how to upgrade to slim beans from stock
thank you
Dont be lazy & read the forums. There where many before u. Even I did it once (to be exact just two weeks ago) just by searching & reading on xda & google. The thing is if u come across problems before/during/after process most times it happened to someone already & solutions are already there. So no excuses, search harder. I found alot that helped me flashing from stock for the first time (I didnt even know what rooting, kernel, odin etc. was couple of weeks ago). Its a little effort on your side. It seems you know more than when I was starting coming from the ace forums so imo The last option should be starting a new thread, especially for this specific question. Nevertheless here is a start

I'm quite accustomed with all the words and everything
I myself flash at least 2 roms per week on my SGA
But for SGS I don't know how to go about
And I searched but there is no full proof guide which includes everything hence the starting of this thread
Baseband version of his phone is

Its only a few threads down , has everything My Guides and Manuals
Title. I've found a thread elsewhere with files and instructions for installing Kitkat and would love to get Android L and any other roms and kernels that devs may upload for it.
Do I need to worry about baseband distinctions?
I have been into modding my SM-S820L for a few months now and although I have found an unofficial TWRP release and a few stock ROM's from various sources, I have never seen any type of CyannogenMod ROM or other custom ROM for this phone.
Also I have been wondering about compatibility between some of the other Samsung Galaxy Core Prime models or similar Samsung phone in general. Would it be plausible that a ROM for say SM-G360T would run on an SM-S820L????
I would love it if anyone knows about compatibility between the SM-S820L and other Samsung Galaxy phone's firmware and custom recovery releases and is willing to share the knowledge would post here with some advice.:good:
Sm s820l
I'm in the same boat as you, there's just not much out there, a new rom was posted on area51 but it wasn't much different, just got rid of bloatware as far as I could tell. I look at it like it's a cheap phone, and as far as custom roms and such, it's just not popular or not favored. I've spent hours searching, nothing out there but malicious websites lol. I'll keep you in mind if I come across something.
Head over to NEEDROM. I built a modified ROM from the Stock firmware for the SM-S820L.
Here is my post!!!
CM, PAC, etc, ROMs for other variants of the Core Prime definitely aren't compatible with the 820L variant? Nothing available but stock-based ROMs?
As far as I have found on the Net, and I have searched for countless hours, I havent found any truly custom ROMs from CM or any other ROM makers. All of my modded ROMs and Kernels are just modified stock files. I havent heard of the other SM- variants being compatible with the SM-S820L but if you ever do find info that certain ROMs work with this model, please post here or shoot me a PM.
I would be uber happy to finally flash something like a Cyanogen Mod ROM

An acquaintance of mine just got a Core Prime, so I was looking for info to root and ROM his phone. If you, someone who's actively been looking for the info hasn't found anything yet, it's pretty unlikely that I will. Looks like he just had the crummy luck of ending up with the variant that doesn't have much dev support. Thanks for the reply, though. People over in the SPH-L720 section don't tend to be nearly so helpful.

Is his Core Prime model SM-S820L? If so, I remember using Kingroot to root and then SuperSu Me to remove Kingroot and retain root. You can find SuperSu Me in the Aptoide app store.
After I rooted my phone, I installed TWRP with ODIN3. You do need to have the Samsung Drivers setup and Kies3 installed to have all needed drivers in order to use ODIN3 in your phone's download(ODIN) mode.
Hi !
Like many other I was stuck on the ACER screen.
After many attempts, I finally had my CPUID with Ubuntu and I restarted my A501 with the A501EUUs file.
But now I'm on the 3.0.1 version, and ACER_A501_0.017.01_PA_ATT as build. Now the OTA doesn't work.
So I'm looking for the Acer_A501_1.309.02_COM_GEN1 to revive the OTA.
Unfortunately all of links that i've found on internet were dead, even the torrent ones.
SO if anyone has this file, please could you send it to me ?
If it's wothless, I plan to install a custom firware but i've read that many are not stable. If you have some tips
Thanks you, you have been very usefull to me !

I would recommend installing a custom ROM, I've tried most of the roms for this device and the best one seems to be omnirom 4.4 from tegraowners but that site seems to be buggy at the moment. So I would just suggest one of the KitKat roms on this forum they are fairly stable and most features work.
