I am planning to buy the Le Pro 3 x720 and customise it to have a oneplus 3 experience.
The LEx720 and OP3 has the same camera sensor and almost same processor (snapdragon 821 for LEx720 & snapdragon 820 for OP3)
kimovilDOTcom/en/compare/leeco-le-pro-3-6gb-64gb,oneplus-3-6gb-64gb-cn
Yet the x720 camera reviews are less positive in comparison to the OP3. I guess its the processing.
1. So has someone ever tried the Oneplus camera on the LEx720?
apkmirrorDOTcom/apk/oneplus-ltd/oneplus-camera/
2. Is it possible to have some samples comparison please, especially against the google camera?
My alternative choice would be the Meizu M6 Note which boasts the same camera as the HTC U11 and it's working pretty great with its Arcsoft algorithm.
3. Based solely on camera, can the LEx720 deliver a better image quality than the Meizu M6 Note?
I would really appreciate your views.
Thank you all in advance.
I wouldn't say you're guaranteed to get a Sony sensor. Some people here are reporting that their camera isn't working on custom ROMs like Paranoid Android--which means that they have a different camera sensor (I believe custom ROMs for the Pro3 variants are built with Sony drivers, but IDK). The OnePlus 3 camera is miles better than the Pro3 camera simply because OnePlus bothers to put good camera software on their phones. Not iPhone-quality, but definitely up there. When it comes to cameras, software is a lot more important, IMO. That's why the iPhone 6's camera quality holds up today, even though the phone was released in 2014. Name a single Android phone from 2014 with good camera quality today...
You are not guaranteed good camera quality from Chinese phones. Some Chinese brands claim to make this a priority, but reviews don't lie. Now, Camera2 API may improve quality, but it really depends. Camera2 API has done wonders for variants of the Xiaomi Note 4 stuck with the inferior Omnivision sensor. It's done even more for variants with Sony and Samsung sensors. And I expect it does well for the Pro3 too, since the Pro3 has a chipset with good image processing. Do your research. Look around the forum and search for camera mods. See if you like the results or not. Camera2 API requires you to root your phone.
Sorry, but if you want a flagship-worthy camera experience, you either buy an iPhone 7, 8, or X, a Samsung S8 or Note 8, an OP3T or OP5, or a Pixel phone. Pixel phones have the best smartphone cameras in the market right now, especially the Pixel 2, since it has dedicated hardware for it. I can't think of any other phones that take excellent images no matter where you are or what you're doing. With other brands you'll have to either a) make sure there's enough lighting, b) be in the right place at the right time, or c) do a lot of manual post-processing, which ruins image quality.
I'm okay with my x722's image quality. It takes good shots in sunlight. Low-light performance is awful. Pretty typical experience. I don't know which sensor I have, though. I'd have to be rooted to find that out.
The Meizu M6 Note has a better sensor. Even if its camera software is awful, it's bound to be better. LeEco doesn't even try with its camera app, so Meizu has to be better.

Different camera sensor? Has there been a case? Doing so would be nightmare for device maintenance and unless it is a large scale company with a model that gets sold huge quantities (Samsung and Apple), it would just be a unnecessary headache without any benefit. Camera not working on certain custom roms does not indicate different sensor. Far from it. A missing or extra line on device tree or even in build.prop would cause it.
It is true that camera sucks on most of Chinese phones. They've got the hardware but unless you're shooting RAW, end result will be very poor.
However, that was the case before Google HDR+ port. That port makes dramatic different. No reason to use OnePlus camera when OnePlus users are rooting for Google HDR+.

Is that so? Sorry, I didn't know that. I thought it strange that the camera would work on ROMs installed on some devices but not others.

Yeah, Gcam changed everything. Now phones with the worst sensors get decent shots, even at night.
Still, no working modded apk for the new Google Camera 6.1? I was just curious why, the photo quality would be vastly better on the new version of the app, awaiting reply guys, TIA.

Wrong thread dude
I just bought a samsung galaxy s7 edge model SM-G935T honestly I'm disappointed at the photo level. I was expecting a lot better especially on this model I have a sony imx 260 sensor, which is weird with the Chinese smartphone leeco pro 3 which a sensor sony imx 298 of lower quality. I can produce better shots on leeco X722 thanks to the Google camera. Is there a way to install the gcam on samsung so you can get the most out of it?

Yes, I am aware that there are certainly some versions of gcam function for the Samsung SM-G935T especially that I am very connected in this area with leeco pro 3 which accepts almost all versions of this list thank you for having me answered.
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
It's good, I found version 6.1021 works best on the Samsung SM-G935T under oreo and bug least compared to others. Exactly it is the one I use with my leeco pro 3 but against the battery it is empty at a speed unbelievable. On leeco the application is better optimized, it consumes less battery. As you can see I took some pictures with the application.

https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V1d_fu24-01g.apk
There is another version that works very well on my samsung SM-G935T snapdragon 820 without crash compared to others is this version or there is precisely Yuv_420_888 which must be selected in the settings for no bug.
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/MGC_6.1.021_Potter_v6slidertest-san1ty.apk
On this version the viewfinder and much faster.
I have two versions that works well on our smartphone under snapdragon 820 with the rom oreo even without being rooted.
There are several, but I chose the most recent one.
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V2a+.apk
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V1a_xcam_0.apk
Do the tests and look at the one that brings you the most satisfaction.
This is a new version of gcam that is rich in option and works well under oreo but it does not crash.
install this one first
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V1a_xcam_0.apk
and over install this new version and create a gcam folder with the file config.xml

for the Exynos processor I do not think it's compatible with me running under a snapdragon 820 processor with the official Oreo Rom without root.
For exynos under the rom oreo test rather those of this list

I explained in my previous comment to be able to install the second application without crash and that it is very rich in option, it must first install the first application is configure it by activating the hdr +
and after finishing the installation of the first, especially do not uninstall it that is the same developer of the second, and install the second that will take over the first.
the goal is that the second application installs without any crash.
I am getting the same green tint all over the picture specialy front cam.
Please help me
For selfies install this app in addition
do not uninstall the other.
because I tried all the parameters, but unfortunately, the green tint remains present.
it works best for selfies without the drawbacks of red or green hue.

sorry, but you have a serious problem, I notice that you do not read enough previous messages that I posted or explain that these versions are compatible only for the Samsung Galaxy S7 under the Snapdragon 820 processor, and I do not do that at chance, at first I try first on my smartphone Leeco pro 3 because with this phone all versions are compatible, but the objective is to compare the quality of the images, if it is of good quality I made the try on my Samsung smartphone and if it works, I share it with others in the community who have the same processor as mine because most have tested and posted versions it works on their smartphone, but the problem is that you rush without reading what I posted before, if you resume all my previous messages that I put online or I answer a person who asks me if it works under the Exynos processor? I answer that it does not work because it is not the same processor.
Funny people go crazy for no reason.. For your record, I have spent lot of time searching and trying. And. By the way, the mentioned comboo WORK on my Exynos S7.

Please forgive me for my previous message that I misinterpreted but soon I intend to get the same phone as the samsung SM-G930F is I will do google camera tests thank you
Listen, I'll give you an example on this version
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog324/
which is in my opinion the best GCAM of all the cameras that I tested on my Leeco pro 3, but unfortunately, does not work on the Samsung Galaxy S7 under Oreo because for me, it's the best version of all GCAM that I tested is particularly the most complete in the viewfinder attaches to perfection and works perfectly on my Leeco pro 3 that it is for selfies or tip top of the rear camera, I wanted to run it on the Samsung but alas the crash of the device.
Guys I have been searching a lot for the latest Google Camera 6.1 Mod, (Pixel 3 one with Nightsight) for AOSP based ROMs, didn't find any.
Please drop a link to the one that you guys are using. preferably a TWRP flashable.
TIA, please be kind, Noob here.
The camera was barely ported with portrait mode and it isn't even working that good. Personally i think we would never the nightsight for our exynos processors, snapdragon maybe?
I'm also looking forward to behaving pixel 3 camera with night sight for galaxy s7 exynos
I have Huawei P20 Pro now, and OP 6t or 6 is interesting for me I want to find out the Oxygen OS.
But I'll change my phone in fall, to a Pixel 4/4 XL, OP 7T or Note 10.
Camera, software, battery life and teh speakers which is important for me.
Camera is great on p20 pro but Pixel is better in this category, front facing camera is so bad at p20 pro and I like the pixel's more, and OP has ported Gcam. How good is that?
Battery life on this phone is great, and probably the 6T is as good as it, because OP always has good battery life and the 6/6T runs Android Pie which is also better for battery.
Software where is the P20 Pro is bleeding. Emui is the worst I've ever used. I did not use stock android or Oxygen OS. I just saw them on my frieand's rooted phone. I I love the smoothness and the cleanness of the stock android, and the customizations of Oxygen OS. That's why I'm interested in Pixel 4/4xl or OP devices.
Speakers is not too much important but good to have stereo speakers. What is a sad point at OP but Google Pixels has good speakers.
Display is not the best on P20 pro. I used Galaxy Note 8 before and Samsung is the king of the screens. It was sharper, it had better colors. But the screen is just a good point, not necessarily to be better than the Samsung's Amoled display.
I want to try out the OP maybe I'll not like it that much as I expect, but I might help then to chose between Pixel 4/4XL and OP 7T.
So my question is.
Should I chane my P20 pro for this couple of months to a OP 6 or 6t?
Or just wait for Pixel 4/4xl or OP 7t?
Thank you for helping me!
Camera is average, Speaker is average, Battery life is amazing, Software can be good latest patch is a bit meh but older builds are great.
It comes down to how much money you will lose from the P20 and then on the 6T if that's an issue for you. If money is no problem then go for it
Camera is average, but what about ported GCam? Does it help a lot or just a bit better??

Just a bit better... Camera sensors are budget Sony sensors.. So yeah nothing amazing going on here in the camera department if you require it at top of your list look elsewhere.
I came from P20 Pro as well. Go for it. You will not regret it.
Camera is really fine. The gcam mod makes it even better, especially portrait shots. You won't miss the P20 camera after a few days.
There is a stereo speaker mod for oneplus devices so you will not really miss that as well.
Battery is about the same usually. I'm getting even better battery life with the 6T with custom kernel.
Oxygen OS is far better than EMUI so you're gonna love it.
Thank you!
I think I give it a try. I'm interested in OP so it will be good for experience. If I like it and the Pixel will have some issues, I might stay with 6T for a longer time.
I would definitely wait for the OnePlus 7. The 6 and 6T are good options but the cameras not great, and no dual speakers, battery life is great on the 6T,I had the 6 also and honestly prefer the 6 over the 6T because its the fingerprint is better and the software is better optimized on the 6.
The only main advantage you would get from switching to OnePlus from where you are now would be the software. It is much cleaned and much faster than anything else with regular updates especially on the open betas.
If you must,go with the 6T if you don't mind ghe slower in screen fingerprint, but has bigger battery.
I would just wait for the 7 at this stage
Actually I don't want to pay for 7, I will be more expensive than the P20 pro, and my main plan is buy a Pixel 4 or 4 XL, so I'll go for 6T which is near same price with P20 pro, and save money for later to the pixel's.
im currently planning to buy a new phone, in my country one plus 8 pro is almost the same price of a s20 ultra, currently i have samsung active 2 and samsung galaxy buds plus, is there anybody here that come from s20 ultra or any s20 lineup and regret it?
Yes, I came from S20 ultra, then S20+ (for a 7-day free trial) then to Oneplus 8 Pro.
Both Samsung devices were running Exynos chipsets and were having poor battery life and getting hot pretty much all the time, even with almost no apps installed.
S20 ultra camera had big focusing issues, even with the latest updates applied.
I have NO regrets, SnapDragon 865 is just much better and Android OxygenOS is great!

hi all,
I have S20Ultra since the begining. Then I bought Oneplus 8 Pro.
PROs for S20Ultra:
great display
flat display
one ui
96hz refresh rate
one handed mode
able to customise UI using Substratum, Sinergy or Hex without root
compatible with Disabler Pro to disable bloatware
CONs for S20Ultra:
exynos chipset which is terrible
quick heating up
autofocus issues
bad overall pictures and filming due to 108mp sensor not being optimised
bad HDR
no reliable face id
I used Disable Pro to disable bloatware and i managed to get a decent battery life of almost 7hrs SoT and a decent standby battery drain
PROs Oneplus8 Pro:
great display
120hz refresh rate
good battery life
option to install and use gcam
CONs Oneplus 8 Pro:
no one-hand mode
no 90hz display refresh rate lower rate
curved display
unable to customise UI using Substratum, Sinergy or Hex without root
notcompatible with Disabler Pro to disable bloatware
no reliable face id
bottom line:
if S20Ultra would have had a Snapdragon 865 chipset or a decent comparable Exynos one
if Samsung would care to give great camera experience
if 3d face id would be available
then i would buy Note 20+ or S20+ immediatelly
If Oneplus 8 Pro would fix 3x camera zoom pictures and video
if no curved display
if 3d face id would be available
then i will buy Oneplus 8 pro without to think

Tough one. The camera is better on the S20 ultra (not the auto-focus) but not by a big margin.
OxygenOS is so much better than Samsung UI 2.0 in my opinion, and I prefer the screen of my Oneplus 8 Pro than the one on S20 ultra.
The price difference is also a factor and it is close to stock android.
I think I would have still switched. I am just disappointed with Samsung (and I had all of them since before the S7)

None, but I have the IN2020 with the BA software, and my understanding is that they mostly are safe (I saw that in another forum).
I imported it from China with the Global EU rom on it already installed (the box was sealed, so it must have been a version for the EU?)
The screen is gorgeous, no black crush, no retention.

able to customise UI using Substratum, Sinergy or Hex without root
compatible with Disabler Pro to disable bloatware
CONs for S20Ultra:
exynos chipset which is terrible
quick heating up
autofocus issues
bad overall pictures and filming due to 108mp sensor not being optimised
bad HDR
no reliable face id
I used Disable Pro to disable bloatware and i managed to get a decent battery life of almost 7hrs SoT and a decent standby battery drain
PROs Oneplus8 Pro:
great display
120hz refresh rate
good battery life
option to install and use gcam
CONs Oneplus 8 Pro:
no one-hand mode
no 90hz display refresh rate lower rate
curved display
unable to customise UI using Substratum, Sinergy or Hex without root
notcompatible with Disabler Pro to disable bloatware
no reliable face id
bottom line:
if S20Ultra would have had a Snapdragon 865 chipset or a decent comparable Exynos one
if Samsung would care to give great camera experience
if 3d face id would be available
then i would buy Note 20+ or S20+ immediatelly
If Oneplus 8 Pro would fix 3x camera zoom pictures and video
if no curved display
if 3d face id would be available
then i will buy Oneplus 8 pro without to think

Excellent analysis! So true!
OnePlus 8 pro compared to S20 Ultra has a gorgeous display with the crisp clarity of the details. The OnePlus8 Pro comes with DisplayA+ rated
I've been seen so many issues on this xda forum for this phone that its getting me thinking to keep the s20 ultra, overheat issues, besides the screen issues, sadly because I really like it, but with no official support in my Country, that would be a high risk, better scenario should be to send the phone to US / Texas and would be a hassle...

hi,
if using with playstore what notifications issues? meaning for which applications you don;t get notifications?
and what means aurora store with google but playstore won't work?
Keeping it short.
Ordered the s20 ultra, didn't turn up re: covid.
Cancelled it.
Ordered OnePlus 8 Pro.
Heard so much awful news about the lacklustre ultra is definitely a bullet dodged, especially the Exynos turd.

yep i had an s20 ultra at launch exynos version experience was really bad drain of battery even of standby is almost the same as you are using it i sold it after 10 days of use. reason im trying to reconsider the exynos version is have no choice thats my country available option only is that they may have an updates that would make the exynos likeable again

there is some notifications you dont receive like youtube gmail etc but there is work arounds but that is if you want to use mainly playstore,
if you want all your push notifications working then the alternative way is using aurora store and disabling playstore
