Mediocre speaker
Probably my least favorite part of the Wing is the speaker. Unlike the LG Velvet, which sounds great, this single firing bottom speaker is not good. Lacks overall volume and depth.

I agree.
I really wish it had better speaker \s .
I was impressed with the speaker after reading these reviews. ( I read these reviews prior to purchasing the phone.)
Loudness is just fine for me. I used to have an LG v20 in this is louder and more crisp when talking on speakerphone.
The Sound is not that bad. is only that is not the same Quality of other device in the same price Range. is going to do the job but can't compete with the top dogs of that division (sound).
Try Volume Booster by GOODEV, this really helps to boosts the volume in LG Wing
The speaker volume is low compared to other phones and sometimes I don't hear phone calls when I'm outside, this is frustrating.

I tested at the IFA, which was a pretty loud environment and volume was similar to my Axon 7 despite the V30 having only a mono side speaker. Clarity was good, less distorted than Axon 7 at high volume, but hard to judge because the environment was loud. I will wait for GSMarena#s audio testing.
Pleasantly surprised by the speaker. Gets loud enough but I wouldn't say particularly louder than any phone. Pretty good quality however.
Seriously speaking... this is probably the only "meh" feature of this phone. Glad to hear the simple mono set up is fairly good for what it is though.
I used the G4 H815 since 2015 and comparing, the V30 is not so loud or clear. The G4 gets even louder if over a surface with the screen up. The curve let to the speaker space to "create" some kind of amplifying "sound box".
The 3.5 jack on the top is also a minus for my kind of use and my car setup...

So far I’d say its just better than the v30 and not as good as the G8. It’s good and loud for games and YouTube but not the best for music. Could do with a little bit of bass and low mid.
I'll throw in that the "Boom box" speaker tech actually works to boost the speaker volume when you have the device installed in the Dual Screen Case accessory. The Boom box speaker works by resonating whatever surface the phone is placed on, like a table, or either really well on a cardboard box. But this feature does increase the volume of the phone inside of the dual screen case.
But even outside of the case, the speaker is quite loud and clear, and in calls there is an option in the volume pop-up to toggle a simple volume boost, which increases the max volume even further.
When compared with S9+, V50 has a wider spatial feel when listening to music. The bass is very weak. I bet a headphone will do a much better job.
Phone conversation are clear enough in both sides though.

sucked with the DTS setting on, better without.
while in a call you can pressw the volume up and select boost, that helps a lot...
as someone whos on the phone a lot (business owner) I usually carry a bluetooth earpiece, that works great,
It could be louder both for calls and video playback.

It's true that the DTS for the speaker have a live effect who is not quite good. But, DTS and Quad DAC are good both with a good headset.
The loudness is... satisfactory, but not exceptional. Clarity is atrocious. Sounds is flat, uninspiring, and completely lacking anything beside human speech range. Low trebles are overpronounced, highs are quiet, and bass is completely non-existent. In-call quality is surprisingly good, but turn on loudspeaker and ears bleed.
LG V30 has MUCH BETTER speakers, both for media consumption and calls.

well at full volume is very good but when I turn the volume down at about 30-40 percent it seems like it has some distortions not a big deal overall happy with it
It is loud android smartphone. Also it is clear too. Turn up full volume and hear this kind of songs. Loudness is great and when in low volume it feels like some distortions.
Loudness is on another level with V4A - very noticeable.
I think I will try out this device
This is a gem
With the 7T, OnePlus made the front-facing top speaker even beefier. So much beefier, in fact, that it needed to move the SIM tray to the bottom of the phone. Somehow, OnePlus managed to make the 7T even slightly louder than the 7 Pro. The sound was clear and clean with no distortion even at the highest volumes.
Meanwhile, Nightscape is now allowed on the ultra-wide camera. There is also a new Super Macro shooting mode that uses the ultra-wide camera to get really close to a small subject.
Speaker is very loud and nice, but I noticed that if you listen music with full volume then after few minutes volume turns down to ~70%.

Like to know too. How's the earpiece volume, i mean can you hear a soft speaking sound when you put the phone 50cm in front of you?
It's pretty good in my opinion, my ears are not very good so I can't really tell the audio quality that well but it's plenty good at its price point. Gets loud enough to fill a room and doesn't get tinny even if you turn it all the way up as far as I can hear. Besides the fact that it's easy to cover since there's only one port it's good enough if you're not an audiophile.
Can confirm audio is excellent. Even with Galaxy Earbuds Plus!
Definitely a big upgrade from my Oneplus 3!
It's louder and sounds better.
Can't say something about the earpiece, because I didn't use it a lot
Using it to call other people or checking some Youtube, it's really loud en pretty clear. Distortion is from the speaker itself is at normal volume OK. At higher volumes it is a bit worse.
Good to know, the whole phone acts like a soundbox. So it sound like it has Stereo, but hasn't. Because of this the whole phone vibrates.
