Can our mini USB ports be used to connect things like usb flash drives, I know it cannot by default but doesnt the samsung and qualcomm chisets support this? I know windows CE supports it as well.
I don't think the Hermes can host USB. There's a newish protocol called USB on the go that's meant to allow devices to communicate without a host, but nobody seems to use it.
Personally I would be happy with a bluetooth usb host device.
no, tytn doesnt have usb host functionality, this has been answered many times in different posts.

Can someone made a custom driver for this network card, i know that some of china aPad have this adapter in case and actually driver must be already interrated in OS.
its good to have some rj45 port on your tablet pc
wondering if there is an adapter somewhere to allow me to plug in my Evo4g(or any mini USB phone) to an RJ45 connector...for example a console port on a switch/router and use a terminal app to configure it.
is this even possible?
thanks for any info
Wow...
Wow lol, while that's a pretty cool idea I doubt it could work... I use a USB to Serial adapter on my laptop to connect to switch gear with a Cisco cable, this one specifically,
http://www.amazon.com/Keyspan-USA-1...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1318030317&sr=1-1
but the phone itself would have to have a driver for it, or you'd have to custom code one yourself... Either way I'm not sure a phone would even support serial emulation over its USB connection. Cool thought though!
I tried ordering a USB C to USB 3.0 adapter off amazon but realized my Essential Phone doesn't recognize or even power and needs a direct USB C port. What works out there to connect to the desktop and actually root this? The cable setup alone makes sense from a charging perspective, but damn them for not including something that can connect to desktops without a USB C connection...
Anyone have a suggestion on what works and how to do it?? I am dying that they don't work... UGH!
Never mind me.. I am an idiot for not connecting a straight USB C to USB cable... Nothing to see here, move along.
Hi,
I have a problem with connecting my Android device (Samsung Galaxy A5 SM-A510F (2016)) via a ethernet adapter and a OTG cable with LAN.
I bought an ethernet adapter and an OTG cable on ebay.
I rooted my Galaxy A5 successfully.
I downloaded the apps "BusyBox" and "Ethernet" (the app "Ethernet" should enable all settings needed to get USB ethernet). This app does not come with any drivers!
I also tried to connect my device using an active USB hub.
However, you obviously need the ethernet driver on the smartphone (which is not yet installed on Galaxy A5).
Does anybody know how I can get this driver?
Or does something else cause the problem?
Are there some better apps for connecting a device to LAN? (for example one which already comes with ethernet drivers)
Thanks for your efforts!
Best regards,
Simon
