Alright, I've been running LineageOS 17.1 on my T510 for a few weeks now. It's been fun and all, but the cons outweigh the pros, so I wanna return my tablet back to as close to stock as possible. Don't care about data or root loss. Can anyone point me to a good guide for the process? Thanks in advance.

I'm currently running RR 7.1.2 (Nougat) which failed when trying to install Xposed Framework and I really want to give Xposed a full-fledged go so I'm wondering what marshmallow rom is the most compatible with Xposed with my xt1607 g4. Any help is greatly appreciated. I did some digging and I'm leaning towards CM13, which I understand is no longer supported, but please express your opinions. Thanks!

Stock - works great with Xposed. Why mess around with a custom ROM if going w/Xposed which gives you complete control over everything except (arguably) theming.

I first rooted and flashed this phone months ago and have lost the stock rom since (rookie mistake, I know). Is it possible to find it online/is there a repository somewhere? I tried the cyanogenmod 13 and xposed which seemed to work flawlessly until I realized I couldn't make or receive phone calls. Just now got it all figured out and it was most definitely a doozy haha. Still not 100% on what went wrong but ya.
Edit: Just found a debloated/odexed version here on XDA. About to flash it and jump back into this nonsense that I enjoy so much hahaah. Thanks for the suggestion I'm excited to see where Xposed goes on a bare bones rom!
Hello everyone, I'm pretty new around here I guess you could say, but I'm here today looking for your help.
I've had an S5 for almost a year now and have gone off and on with different rooting (had SuperSU and now have Magisk). But anyways, I am wondering what the "big deal" about Custom ROMs are. I've read up a little but haven't been able to decide on if it's a good idea or not. For example, I looked at Resurection Remix OS for the S5 and it seems pretty cool. Except I loose my data. Now I'm not too worried about that, but I would like to keep my text messages and such (if anyone could tell me how to back that up, that'd be great).
The second problem is that, I'm worried that I may end up hard-bricking my S5 when trying to install a Custom ROM on it, as this would be the first time.
The third problem is, I have no idea what ROM would be best suited for both me and the phone.
In summary, what I'm asking is:
1. What advantages/disadvanges are there for installing a Custom ROM on my S5.
1a. How would I backup important information (text-messages mainly, as I have done nanodroid backups and such)?
2. How "hard" is it to hard-brick a phone from installing a Custom ROM?
3. What good ROMs are out there that are well suited for the S5?
i have a verizon galaxy note 4 i haven't used in ages that i need to start using again and i wanted to go to stock rooted and clean up some bloat. what is a good way to do this?
thanks!
some more details
The phone is currently running EmotionOS 7.1.1 and 2CPL1
i decided to stay with custom roms:
upped to twrp 3.2.1, wiped memory, odin to CQL1, twrp installed RR and open gapps.
anyone know a rom that has working miracast to windows 10 or any OS?
I have been test LOS 14.1 and it works okay but a little unstable. Seems like the best I can get on this phone will be as close to stock as possible. I had it working well enough but I wanted to root the device.
So I would like to know what combination of bootloader and firmware/Rom will give me
unlocked bootloader
Twrp
Stock MM
Root
Best cell performance
Thanks in advance
Hello Good Evening... Recently there has been a lot of privacy allegations against many of the mobile brands that led me into considering custom ROMs. For the last 6 years, I had been using a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which had a factory unlocked bootloader and hence could flash ROMs and even fix bootloops easily. I am a new Xiaomi user and am considering to change to a custom ROM. Here are the list of things I am looking forward to:
1. Details on the procedure for unlocking the bootloader
2. Custom Recovery recommendations
3.. Custom ROM suggestions and how to get out of a bootloop if I get stuck into one as this is my daily Driver'
4. I really loved the battery life that I was getting with MIUI 11, is there any way to get the same while using custom ROMs, any custom kernel suggestions for PE Rom as I am familiar with it on my old Note 3
Thanks a lot for your valuable time
Regards
Sunil
Hey,
In order for you to unlock the bootloader, you will need to download the xiaomi unlock tool from their website. You might need to wait a couple of days after you press the "unlock" button to get your device unlocked but after that you are good to go.
For Custom Recovery, both TWRP and OrangeFox are viable options.
I haven't experienced any bootloops so far (fortunately) so I can't give you any tips about that topic.
About Custom ROMs I've tried Pixel Experience with Android 10 and I liked it. Google Apps are installed with the rom so you don't need to worry about that and the battery life as more or less the same as the one I was getting with Miui 11. Currently I'm using Lineage OS with Android 10 and the software is nice and battery liffe is better than the one on the Pixel Experience. I ran into some issues because of the Google Apps installation. My device must have a issue with the Pixel Setup Wizard but it crashes every time during the setup process. The only google apps package I was able to install with success was the BitGApps.
Hope some of this information was helpful ?
Can someone comment on Havoc 3.6 vs Lineage 17.1 concerning Battery Life? I am on Havoc 3.6 now and I noticed a considerable drainage difference lately. I checked apps and running services. I saw also this today which confused me a bit.

So bro, are there any custom kernels to enhance the battery life? Also will I be able to use banking apps and most importantly McDonald's App as a lot of good deals come online? Thanks again ?
Hey guys,
Anyone have any info when either unofficial or official twrp is coming for Android 11? I made the mistake of upgrading to 11 from 10 then tried flashing twrp which bricked my phone ( I fixed it, no biggie ). I just really want to flash a custom ROM and I can't find any other custom recovery that will do that and side loading twrp also gives a crashdump error. Unless anyone knows how to downgrade to 10, the the furthest downgrade I've achieved is 11.0.0, once I hit 10.x.x I get either a black screen or crash dump.
It's a lot there, I know. Much appreciated everyone.
Edit: reading more on this forum, I think I found a way to flash a custom ROM on Android 11.. I guess you can side load roms? So I guess I'm going to give that a try. I'm so old school, like back in 2011.
I had the same problem. Im using the Lineage recovery atm an idk why tbh. I think i used it for rooting and for now im only using magisk modules to obtain some featurers.
Sideloading roms is a thing but man i miss those old HTC Hero., HTC Desire times. Last years i was using a P30 pro without root and im so happy to have root again.
Anyway read carefully and have fun. I would love some answers from your experience here.

Most custom roms include all the files needed to flash the entire rom from a batch file. CrDroid for sure, but also Lineage. I'm sure there are more. My issue is not flashing, it's that all important nand backup from TWRP I miss the most. Switching roms is a lot more tedious when you have to re-install everything to revert back to your old setup.
Twrp for 8 and 8 pro may not happen ever, encryption is the problem
TWRP doesn't look promising considering the time that has passed since 8 launch...
