I ran a wifi tests to see how my new M51 it would compare to A71
I ran the speed checker app on both this my M51 vs my A71 and the numbers were pretty much the same for throughput about 370ish Mb/s but the M51 was always consistently slightly higher by 5-10Mb/s
but when it came to Ping the A71 was constantly in the 2-5ms range while the M51 was 10-12ms
odd.

Signal strength is excellent in device as far as my usage.

a lot of users saying 4G+ is not enabled in M51. not sure why. most of them are inidian users.

internet network reception is low
Not reliable for network . My older 2014 xiaomi phone is getting internet at the place where it is not the same with m51.
Does carrier aggression work with m51 ?

So far it's receiving signal better than my old 950xl and a s8. Noticeable difference as I have my work mapped out mentally as to where signal sucks(I thought) and where it's good.
10-20% signals on both previous phones at my desk, now it's a solid 60% WITH lte+ vs the others were always hopping between lte and 3g.
Mine appears to have a better signal then my older HTC and S8 plus.. Not to mention the GPS on Waze while on my S8 plus would sometimes be off and move around, so far my Razer has been perfect.
I am having in call issues. I am using Virgin Mobile on my Razer phone and one of my friend uses koodo on his one plus 5t.when on call I can hear him fine but he cannot hare me. He is the only person I have faced this issue with and same is for him. Not sure what the problem could be. Any thoughts.
Appears to be fine. I live in a remote area where coverage is scarce.

My router is placed on the first floor and I have trouble getting stable WiFi connection at ground floor, especially my kitchen, which is at the rear.
I am surprised nobody mentioning this. The XZ2 has the worst WiFi reception among phones I have used recently (P10, Redmi5A, Samsung S8, OP5T). Yes, it is even worse than the budget Redmi 5A! I am on .265 firmware.

Like a freaking BoSS...
At my in-laws place, the network is so weak that with all my earlier phones, be it MiA1 or G6 or U11, I had to go outside to make a call that too at a particular place.
And FORGET about using Mobile data ever.
But then comes Nokia 7 Plus...
I call people from anywhere and everywhere...
I watched Chelsea vs Huddersfield live on Hotstar streaming.
While others suffered with their mobiles...
Freaking BAWSE
I would say that it is awesome. As a comparison my wife and I are on the same network and both of us had the same LTE network bands.
At times my wife's Mate 10 lite / nova 2i would lose signal and mine will still have excellent LTE signal.
But there's only one complaint is that the phone, despite of me selecting manual network, it will then change back to other network. ( I received 2 bands of LTE network at my place one is faster than the other and both have strog signal but it will always go back to the slower one).
Easily goes into 4G+ mode and hence, higher speeds.

Does anyone nokia 7 plus heat up during weak coverage...mine get extremely warm to 45C when coverage is very weak.

That's normal for most if not all phones. To avoid this try locking into a single network like 3G only if 4G is weak
Great signal quality and coverage here as well.
Like some phones( sony and samsung for example) it heats up a bit and use a lot of battery during low signal quality.

WiFi signal strength is noticeably weaker than Galaxy S7.
Connection drops from time to time.
3 stars.
It's terrible... This whole phone is a huge disappointment to me. One of my favorite experiences I've ever had is with the Asus Zenfone AR. With three degradation of my pixel 2 experience ( I can't even use it it's so slow) I miss the AR. To get back on topic yes the wifi receiver in this 5z is honestly really really weak. All the crazy positive reviews on this phone all over the web I am starting to not put any stock in any review now. Maybe it's just my particular device blah blah blah .....I'm Asus biggest fan but c'mon now.... Anyone have a 8gb Zenfone AR wanna deal?
Wifi signals are weaker compared to even other midrange phones.
I also confirm same. WiFi singal is not only weaker but weakest. AZF5Z India version.
Same spot at hotel room, my zenfone 5z get poor signal (1 wifi bar) but redmi 5 plus can get good signal (4 wifi bar).
Just bought this phone and I regret it.
Can it be rectified through an OTA update? Or is it a hardware issue?
any solution to weak WiFi in Asus 5z?

Wireless signal strength is avarage to poor. My Xiaomi Mi4c finds networks where as my Mi8 doesn't. My Xiaomi Mi4c has almost full bars where my Mi8 has only 1 and even disconnects. The Mi4c wireless is the best I ever had on a phone, even beats the iPhone X in both range and performance.
Troughput is good, i dont have wireless AC, only 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. I get 200/20 from my ISP. A wireless speedtest when i have full connection over 5Ghz results in the following:
Download: 168 mbps
Upload: 20,5 mbps
Ping: 10 ms
These results probably could be better when using better equipment. My wireless network is provided by a TP-Link WDR4300 with stock firmware.
It's excellent. Nothing to complain about, 250/250 connection.
Excellent, on 600/600 5 GHz wifi
Can anyone else contribute on the wifi connection range and strength vs other phones?

Nope, as it's excellent, just like most phones today.
If someone have an issue it's due to their ISP/router etc. like @ndonkersloot, not the device.
No problems. Better than the Huawei V10.
Poor
My Mi 8 has a poor signal, I had a Mi 5 and the strength it's better, like @ndonkersloot I have the same issues
I just tried to disable the data, then I connected to the WIFI at home and I activated the Hotspot. Then I connected to hotspot with an old simless smartphone and was able to surf the internet. Virtually the Mi 8 global with MIUI 10 stable function as WIFI extender. Stefano from Italy.
Average at best. I have noticed it suffers from some of the issues that older iPhones had due to antenna placement. When you hold the phone horizontally (landscape), poor connections take a huge hit.
