Hello,
Maybe someone can help as it looks like Samsung has changed download mode on the Note 20. I tried following the instruction for the S20 and go into recovery mode, followed by selecting reboot to bootloader, but I am greeted with a screen that does not look like the normal Samsung download mode. Has anyone had any success in getting into it as I would like to flash the TMB image on my unlocked model.
Thanks!
Same boat as you...the screen almost looks to be the bootloader screen from a pixel phone. Something has definitely changed...FYI to get out of that screen make sure it says Start at the top then hold down the power and vol down button. That should reboot to recovery where you can just hit restart system.

Exactly, looks like something out of a Pixel phone, but ya Power + Volume down will reboot back to recovery where you can restart. But for the life of me cannot find Download Mode.
Try the Power/Vol Up. That'll take you to Recovery, then scroll down to "Reboot to Bootloader"

That is what I have done, and I can get into recovery, but once you select "Reboot to Bootloader" your taken to a screen that looks more like a Pixel bootloader and not Download Mode.
Power off. Connect USB to computer. Hold volume up and down at same time connect phone

Pleaseee helppp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, my vibrant it's stucked on Vibrant screen (when you press on button). I've enter in clockwork recovery mode and format system, data, cache. When I try rebooted the phone diden't work. Please helppp meeeeeee
I don't know if this helps, but I was in your situation and I flashed using Odin.
i can't enter in downloading mode and i don't know whyyyyyyyyyyy, i never can. I touch volume+, volume -, connect the usb and nothing happends, just try to chargeeee. Whyyyyyyyyyy
just hit volume down+power and let go of power when you see the vibrant logo
To enter download mode do this.. step by step
1: - Remove your cover and remove your battery and SIM card
2: - insert back your battery and replace cover. (leave SIM card out)
3:- Do not turn on the phone
4:- connect your phone to the usb cable
5:- You will see a battery in the phone screen ( phone is charging)
6: - Press and hold Vol +, Vol - and Power and as soon the battery image fade away release the Power but leave Vol+ and Vol - pressed until you see the phone goes into download.
7: Release Vol+ Vol -
8: Open Odin
9: Select your Pit file
10: Select your PDA file
11: unplug phone from USB
12: plug again and you'll see in Odin that is recognized
13: Click Start and wait until finish
Loooookkkkkkksssss likeeewe you might beeeee pressing too manyyyyyy keys and now it no workieeeeeeeee

i have the same problem as M5devil:
My problem is even worse as I explained in a different thread before. I don't even see the charging battery when I plug in the USB cable. All I see is the depleted looking grey color battery that doesn't charge. ADB commands don't work - device is not found. So it's a brick and none of the methods worked.
I heard from someone who has 3 different Vibrants, was always able to get into download mode on one of them and never on the other 2. Sounds like some phones got this feature internally blocked and some did not. I guess those that easily enter into the recovery/download modes are the lucky ones.

Do you need the $6/month insurance to get a new phone under these circumstances?

Try this, remove battery, while holding the volume up and volume down only, pop the battery back in, that's the only way I can get into download mode on mine

Have you tried using ADB to get into download mode?
Code:
adb shell
su
reboot download
-Make sure you have debugging mode enabled on your phone.
-Make sure your screen is awake so you can grant adb super user permissions after entering the "su" command.

If you get stuck in a boot loop, is it really the only way, is to hook the n7 up to a pc? It's not exactly like you can pull the battery....

long pressing(10-20 seconds) the power button will reboot the device. if you also press and hold the volume down button when it reboots, it'll take you into the bootloader. from the bootloader, press the recovery option.

update your bootloader. you should be able to get into your recovery with the recovery option if you connect your device via usb to your computer.

I tried connecting the device to my computer via USB before selecting recovery. When I do that, volume up/down and power do nothing! So I have to reboot by holding power again. What do you think now?
I didn't realize I had to update the bootloader I was in the process of updating my ROM from SmoothROM 4.1.2 to Modaco 4.2 and it did not flash properly. So at this point, I cannot boot up. I'm stuck here.

Hope someone can help. When I try to go into download mode (Volume Up + usb cable), it gets stuck in "Keep pressing the volume up button until download mode appears". Anyone knows a solution?

Hey man. Are you able to boot in TWRP? If you are, try this: Wait for TWRP to boot up, press Reboot button and choose Download (But make sure to be connected to your PC with a USB cable before clicking on Download button) and tell me if it works for you.
Edit: Actually, can you also just try holding VOLUME UP button for a bit longer? Just keep holding the button until "Firmware Update" screen appears, I think it should work for you.

Unfortunately it didn't work... I held the button for about 3 min and nothing.
Then I tried using TWRP, I can go into the TWRP, but when I connect the cable and press the download mode it just reboots normally. Don't know what else to try. Tried restoring the stock backup I made, but even after that It does not go into download mode...

Yeah, no problem. Just asking Thanks anyway.
please help, woke up today with phone in boot loop and very hot, tryed odin to flash new firmware it was working fine, but near the end i get fail, so i used smart switch for phone initialization, with model and serial, it did his thing, but when it finishes and goes to reboot device it goes back to boot loop, what can i do?
So i take it from the lack of replies it's dead, so is there a way i can pull photos and videos from the internal memory? it still powers up, just stuck in boot loop, i can still get to download mode, just cant get into recovery, is there a way to get to the files?
If the phone is in bootloop she's not dead.
Try wiping it trough the fast boot menu and start over.

Ok, i searched and donwloaded platform tools to get ADB and fastboot, but from what i read i need to be in recovery for adb to pick up my phone, and i cant seem to get into recovery mode, pushing vol up + home + power does nothing, holding power to turn off phone also does not work, as soon as i connect phone to charger it turns on and goes into boot loop, only thing i can do is enter download mode, but in download mode i cant seem to get adb to find phone.
Put it in download mode, push an original OS from Samsung on it and after that you should be good 2 go.

I'm just getting used to my Samsung device and as yet, I have little experience with it however, with other devices
adb reboot-bootloader
or fastboot reboot recovery

So you already did this;
Phone in recovery mode; wipe it completely and restore to factory settings.
Phone in download mode; original OS via Odin.
After those steps it should work. Had to do the same to my phone last night. Lol.

the only part i didnt do is
Phone in recovery mode; wipe it completely and restore to factory settings.
because i cannot enter recovery, it supposed to be vol up+ home + power, but i think it requires phone to be off, and i cant turn phone off, holding power to turn it off does nothing, already let batery die, but as soon as i plug the cord it turns itself on, and goes back into boot loop, so again when i try the combo to go to recovery it does nothing (because i think it really needs to be off to enter recovery) so all i can do is do vol down + home + power and go to download mode, but i'm not getting adb to recognize phone in download mode, so i could command it to reboot to recovery =(
If you hold all buttons down it will restart the phone. And as soon as the screen goes black release all but volume up and power you should get into recovery mode

I'm having similar issues with my Galaxy S9+. When you say "Wipe it completely" I should do the standard wiping or advanced wiping and select all folders?

Can you power the phone off?
When it is off can you follow the steps below to get into download mode?
6. Reboot Phone in Download Mode (1st plug-in USB-cable to your PC), push Bixby + Volume Down buttons, while pushing them plug-in USB-cable to S10
Just plug your phone to computer...
and press and hold power down, bixby, power.
will get you to download mode.
I often get stuck there when first trying to root my s10+
