Hello Everyone,
I've installed LineageOS 17.1 and BitGApps on a Huawei MediaPad M5 lite.
So far so good.
The problem I'm encountering is that I'm not able to install applications from the PlayStore because the system tells me there isn't space left.
I've checked the space left on the device and from the settings I receive following:
/storage/emulated/0 --> 1.18 GB Used, 23.78 GB Free
/system --> 2.04 GB Used, 623 MB Free
/data --> 1.18GB Used, 23.78 GB Free
Now I see that the /system partition is relatively small and hasn't so much free space left - but if I've correctly understood this partition should be used only by SystemApplications (such as BitGApps).
Other Apps (the one from the playstore) should be installed on the /data partition correct?
What could possibly be the problem?
Thanks in advice to all

For example, I've got A2SD installed and I want to know how much I've got available in my sd-ext partition, but none of the stock storage utilities tells me how much storage I have in my partitions. Only internal and sd card.
I'm currently running NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.0 (Kernel: tytung_HWA_r2) with 40ad2sdx.
When I'm looking at my apps via ROM Tooldbox Pro, It shows I have less then a MB left in System, but my internal storage is well over 700mb.
I had to do some digging around in File Expert to find out where my downlaoded apps where going. They wound up in /data/apps on phone internal storage, which means the script didn't install right, or it's spoofing internal storage so good, it's fooling file expert.

Less than a mb left in system is normal I think. The system partition is filled up by the ROM apps (hence when you flash a ROM you flash a system partition)
Try titanium backup. Internal memory is displayed as a2sd. The actual a2sd partition is displayed as internal.

FreeSpace
Hello,
I'm trying to install the aforementioned ROM on my GF's phone, while trying to maximize free space (She complains that she needs more space for applications).
I've setup the MAGLDR partition 165 MB, with minimal cache size of 5 MB.
I have two questions:
1. Is it possible to install this ROM without CWM?
2. If not, what should be the minimal partition size for CWM. assuming that I will not use the backup feature?
Thanks!

No it isn't possible and (I think) that is the minimum partition size. If you created an EXT partition on your gf's SD card then install 'Link2SD' from the Android market, you should be fine for internal storage space. I'm using the same setup (well, v2.0 cos I've heard there are issues with 2.1) and it works fine.
Hi,
I just installed miui 6.9.29. Everything is working fine but one thing: the ext3 partition i created in CWM (512 mb, 0 mb swap) does not show up as internal storage. I tried to mount it in CWM, but still no luck . Can someone please help me? I really need more than 115 mb of internal storage, since there is only 23.54 mb available. Pretty stupid actually because i only want about 3-4 apps more..
Please help!
1 - does that rom support a2sd natively? or do you need to apply a script yourself?
2 - it never does show up using the standard system apps to view available storage
yes it does, and i already fixed it by using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26286781&postcount=1
thank you anyways
Ahh it must depend on the rom / script used then.
150mb usable internal storage - storage taken by GApps = Too little
As far as I know, the memory increasing scripts (For example Amarullz script) only work when you're running a specific kernel, how can I have the same effect on CM11? After installing GApps, only under 100 mb is left for apps, which is way too little to actually install apps and use the phone
Use Search
anyway here's a guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-y/general/how-to-increase-internal-memory-samsung-t2963600
I've got an almost fresh and empty J3 (2016) with stock Android 5.1.1
One of my friends has been complaining about low internal memory warnings.
So I installed TWRP and got it rooted.
It shows the following:
System memory - 7,02 GB
Used space - 664 MB
Available space - 310 MB
And when I do a TWRP backup, it says - ok, system partition is approx 1.4 GB, data 800 MB. In total, full system backup is slightly more than 2 GB.
Where did the rest 6 GB of internal memory go?
Mind you, there is *no* pictures, no video, no apps, nothing.
Wiped cache/dalvik.
But 5 or 6 gigs are still missing. Whats wrong with this picture?
Maybe there's a hidden partition? Can you give me a hint how to visualize ALL internal memory, all available partitions? And possibly kill and resize the useless ones.
I'd greatly appreciate it!
