Android auto issues - Google Pixel 4 Questions & Answers

Folks - the phone has been working great for one except a recent update caused a big issue. Every time the phone is plugged into Android auto, it slows down to a crawl. I can't use it at all sitting on the passenger side. Also, once I disconnect the phone from the car, it still remains slow for at least an hour. I deleted the cache and storage on android auto but it didn't help
Thx

HTC P3600i Freezing Problem

Hi Guys,
I'm new here, but have been following and reading these forums for quite some time now. Great Stuff!
anyhow, my problem, recently purchased a HTC P3600i PRO. Put a custom ROM on it, seemed to be running great over the last few weeks, but my problem is this. Now and then my phone pda will lock up and I'm forced to reset it. What happens is, I am still unsure as to why this happens, but lately it's started freezing up, and when I click on my start button, it shows my menu, and then when I click programs, it shows as "empty" when I know there's nothing empty, it's filled with stuff, randomly this happens to my settings window as well. Basically stuff randomly dissapears from my start menu, shortly after, 5 to 10 seconds, it locks up. The next thing I do or click on after seeing things disappearing from my menu, it freezes. I then have to do a soft reset, and after doing a soft reset, it's as if it's done a hard reset and wants me to re-configure the time, click on all 4 corners, etc.. I use have to use SPB Backup to do a full restore of my phone/settings/contacts/software etc..
Can anyone help?
Also, just to update.. I restored my phone with a backup today, and it seems to be running well again for some strange reason. Is it because it's overheating? getting hot or what? I'm not sure what it's doing. Please help
Figured it out
My backlight whilst on battery was set to brightest. figured it was overheating as it felt warm too.. I turned it right down to 3 bars from lowest, and it's fine now
Guess it my screen and battery were getting quite hot and the CPU was overheating. All resolved.
I got a HTC p3600 for about 10 months. i used to have the backlight set to minimum.
now i update my rom and it got crashes so often, almost every day, and I need soft restart the device all the time when get crash.
The worse, sometime my display picture just broken + crash, and I need more than once to restart the pda. When I restart the device sometime the display just turn black color moving from top to bottom, or sometime with colourfull dots on screen, and the device does not want to be restart.
In that case i take the battery to turn off the device.
Sometimes i need to wait some minutes until i can restart normally the system.
It usually crashes when it is connected to the computer via usb (charging the battery) and i need to use it. (i check and it is very hot)
Also, when i use wifi it tends to crash (very hot too)
Since i upgrade the rom my backlight settings are set higher...i reduce the backlight, to reduce heat and test the system stability, but i really think it is crashing due to overheating.

[Q] A few issues regarding winmo and android

Good morning all. I have a small amount of knowledge about this device (I’ve read a fair bit) but would still classify myself as a novice user. I am able to flash my device and have had android running for a while now. I have a few issues, and just want confirmation that I’m not doing anything stupidly wrong.
Firstly, I have flashed to a number of winmo roms, all with varying degrees of usability. I found them to be slow compared to android. All my rom including the last two roms, chuckyrom tabtastic and chuckydroid, have given me a few issues of varying degrees. They freeze a lot and require a soft reset or to pull the battery. Sometimes, if I try and restart straight away, the red writing on the first screen doesn't come up and the phone vibrates 4 or 5 times. Further to this, they may restart midway through booting up, or if I am transferring a large amount of data or using my phone as a wireless hotspot the phone also resets after a while. I have noticed the phone gets quite warm during this. Best results for a reboot come after pulling the battery and leaving it for 15-20 minutes.
Secondly, I have used a number of different android builds (all HTC based) and whilst generally the phone does not freeze when it is in idle mode, it freezes up to 15-20 times a day when using applications such as facebook, internet explorer, music etc. Is this normal?? I don't get any force close notifications. When people say it is “relatively stable” what does this actually mean – no freezing, 5 freezes a day, 50 freezes a day?? The device also freezes when syncing all data. Sometimes when I am in a call, if a change occurs on the device (text message or other notification comes in, even when on the move which I’m guessing may be location changes in the system) the phone freezes and emits a “bzzzzzzzz”ing noise (well, I don't know how well the word “bzzzzzz” conveys what I’m trying to say, but you may get the picture). All this in turn leads to me needing to re-boot, which then brings into play the issues of rebooting above.
The other day, I noted that the micro-usb cable had what appeared to be small burn marks on it, and the contacts inside the micro-usb cable were a bit corroded/eroded. I do remember a few weeks ago where my phone froze in the middle of the night whilst on charge and the phone became quite hot, possibly resulting in the damage to the cable. Yesterday, I got a new cable and woke up this morning with the phone quite warm again (battery temp was at 39 degrees). This was all whilst using android.
I have tried a number of different winmo roms and android builds, flashed radio, task29, different micro sd cards, formatted sd card etc. I am thinking of reflashing back ot the original rom and if I still have the same issues then sending away to get it fixed. Problem with this is that Telstra here in Australia claim it will be a month and that no replacement phone will be given to me in the meantime. I think I am paying about $160 a month at the moment – surely this is a bit slack not to give me a replacement phone in the meantime? Can anyone share their experiences with Telstra and/or tips when dealing with them?
Any help with the above would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

[Q] A500 has developed freezing "issue"

Hello,
ok, I gave up on moving APPs to external SD on ICS 4.0.3...
Here is my new issue in a nutshell....
I updated to ICS 4.0.3 with no problems and everything worked fine for months. Within the last month, the tablet has developed a random problem, usually 30-90 seconds after it boots, where it may or may not freeze up (i.e. the screen is unresponsive) and I have to turn it oss and reboot and hope it doesn't happen again.
Sometimes this happens one or two times in a row and then its fine, sometimes it will happen five times or more, and then the next boot it is fine, sometimes it works fine on the first boot.
I have removed all kinds of apps and media to make sure I have lots of room and curently have about 5G free. but that didn't fix the issue.
I looked into the GPS txt files being left behind and made sure they are removed regularly, but that doesn't help the issue.
I used a Device Info APP to display what is going on when this happens, and while it doesn't show any APP or process I can see as the culprit, the CPU is being maxed at 100%?
It also seems to have "something" to do with the WiFi, as when it "locks up" the WiFi icon in the tray goes away and when I go to settings it seems stuck trying to turn off the WiFi. But at other times then the WiFi is working fine?!
Also, sometimes if I let it go to sleep for too long, when I wake it up this will happen..
SO... anyone got a clue what this could be?!

phone hangs, restarts a lot

hi
Recently purchased a CM 11 powered Yureka phone in India from Amazon. The phone does well but off late, hangs a lot (atleast 2-3 times a day, especially during gaming), keeps restarting on its own and system UI keeps crashing, the battery never charges to full capacity, the max it reaches is 99%.
Any fix to the problem or should i opt for a return?
restart problem
I am facing same problem. what you done to resolve ?
have you changed cpu frequencies or governors?
Yureka behaving strange
Apart from restarts automatically, it has one more problem. Sometimes wifi switched off automatically without my knowledge. It is serious problem because it costs me lot of 3G data being unaware and downloading anything.
It restarts mostly while playing games. Otherwise its ok. But sometimes when wifi switched off automatically or bluetooth switched on or off, screen rotation off etc without my knowledge is serious issue. I also installed antivirus to check but found everything ok.
Please share any solution.
You guys should try clearing cache from recovery

HELP REQ - Stock Lollipop Note 3 N9005 - Random Reboots/Wifi-BT Clashes

Hi all,
Having a problem here.
Had my N9005 for about 18 months, never really had any problems with it - or rather, never really required anything of it which might manifest any problems.
I've always used Stock ROM's, soft-rooted.
Never triggered KNOX.
I'm currently running Stock Lollipop (latest Switzerland Open). Everything I'm about to elaborate is also the same using Stock Lollipop (latest UK Open).
I'm rooted on Lollipop using the method compiled by The TAMAS on XDADEV.
I root because my phone is work-critical, and so I use Titanium Backup to keep my data/calls/APN/SMS backed up and to make restoring easy, as well as to disable stock bloatware etc.
The problem may have pre-existed in pre-Lollipop ROM's, but the sequence of changes which caused it to be manifested included my need to update to Lollipop, about 5/6 months back.
THE PROBLEM - First and foremost, the damn phone reboots randomly. I become aware of it because it will vibrate for startup and play the Samsung startup tone and splash screen before booting to normal functionality. It can do this day or night, maybe 3-4 times a day. I have no error messages or warnings, it's done it while in my hand, while plugged in charging, while out and about, in the car, on wifi, on data. MOST times it reboots. SOME times it just shuts off and I don't realise it's off until I go to use it, or get a call on a second phone to ask why I'm not responding to calls or messages.
When it reboots itself, if I go to the Samsung Battery control panel pane and take a look at the battery chart it will show a gap which is longer than the time it took to reboot, and a shift in the battery meter level.
But, that's not the only possible symptom or problem with the phone.
I've noticed also that my WIFI does a lot of crapping out, or slowing to a crawl, even on my home AP. I've reset AP's, reset networks, reset the phone, forgotten and then reattached the AP in WiFi Settings. So I downloaded the Ookla Speedtest App, to see this issue in black and white, and sure enough, even though any other Android or iOS or Windows or OSX device in my place can connect via Wireless AP to my fibre connection and get great consistent throughput, the Note 3 can often appear crippled...
At it's best, it responds to ping quickly on the Speedtest app, and leaps up to the 30-40Mbps range with consistency for download, and up to 17-20Mbps for upload. This is the least I would expect it to do, my target standard.
At it's worst (which can be 'most of the time') it responds slowly to ping, and either struggles to get over 250Kbps download and maybe a crazy Meg or two for upload, consistently, a slow grind; or it may oscillate extremely wildly between slow and high speeds before eventually settling to unacceptably low transfer rates.
Up to press, I've been trying to chase these problems in isolation, believing them to be unconnected.
No success.
I've reflashed several times. I've Factory Reset. I've wiped data and cache. I've reinstalled and restored from Titanium. I've reinstalled and restored nothing but my SMS's and Call Logs. I've reduced my installed apps to bare minimums. I've tried it with a MicroSD installed, and without. I've bought another battery and replaced it. I've tried it in its case and without its case.
Then I started thinking that the problems were all the same thing, and stemming from the same root.
It suddenly occurred to me that my use of the phone changed significantly at the same time as I moved to Lollipop.
I need to be on Lollipop because apps and hardware that are critical to me are Lollipop dependent.
All at the same time, I began using a Moto360, a Bluetooth Receipt Printer and a Bluetooth Credit Card Reader, all of which are deficient in functionality or in some way hamstrung by not using Lollipop.
So I had gone from occasional BT user (maybe PlayerPro plus a BT link to headphones or my stereo occasionally; when needed, BT speakerphone in car) who usually turned BT off manually to preserve battery life, to a constantly connected BT user...
So I went back to Speedtest app, and tried to test the WIFI connection again. Sure enough, it was pitiful. Then I simply disabled BT on the N9005 and ran the test again, and had full 'through the roof' speed ratings.
I've tried this back and forth hundreds of times now, and it is predictable and established. BT is somehow crippling WIFI on my N9005.
I've tried running the phone on either wifi or data only, with BT off, and had a couple of days use at a time without any restarts. Put BT back on permanently, and the restarts resume within hours.
I'll be honest, I've even been cursing and swearing at my BT devices, because BT sometimes struggles to even maintain a continuous connection. I get vibrations all the time on my Moto360 indicating that the phone, which is on my person, has disconnected from the watch again, perhaps just for moments, sometimes for minutes, resulting in the watch eating battery life, trying to get reconnected.
I'm convinced now that all these things are related, and the problem lies somewhere in the interaction between BT and WIFI in my N9005.
It seems likely that I never noticed the problem before because I never required continuous BT connection before the point where I installed Lollipop.
Downgrading the ROM isn't an option. Leaving BT off isn't an option (nor should they have to be, on an 18 month old £600 smartphone).
Does anyone else have experience of this? Has anyone else had problems that they now suspect might be this same problem? Does anyone understand what's going on hardware/software wise, or have experience of a solution to these issues?
I'd appreciate your input urgently, even if only to affirm that I need to go to the inconvenience of temporarily buying another phone to replace this, while I send this away for a warranty repair.
Is this even a recognised hardware fault, or would I just get back an identical unit which is crippled from being able to perform as I expect it?
Please help.
