Got it down to 0 today so did a test. Bear in mind I'm also going through a UK plug adapter the vendor supplied
I put the phone on wired charge with their supplied cable and plug at 16:03
I stopped out for some beer. Came back and checked the phone at 16:30
It was 100% charged. If the marketing waffle is wrong it isn't by much! A day's power in half an hour? Try FULL power in half an hour (with time to buy some beer!)
Is there anyone that knows or has been able to find which charging speed the phone supports when plugged in to an ordinary USB-PD charger?

20v PPS up to 55W.
Shouldn't even have to say it. We all know it's incredible. 40% in 5 minutes, 100% in 22ish.

Very disappointed. Never exceeds 2A
With original charger+cable, the speed is pretty good, surely way faster than my Samsung S7.
Way faster than my previous s9 plus
I figured out there are 3 different charing modes, normal charge, fast charge and SuperCharge...
I think it depends on the charger ....

Supercharge mode, which is the fastest possible, requires BOTH a compatible battery charger AND a compatible cable. Usually , cables have purple plug. Non-compatible systems can charge at fast charge speed, which is like quickcharge 3. Thanksfully, neither the charger nor the cable are very expensive.
When the battery is lower than 30%, I usually get 4,5V and 5A (measured with a device, not an app) which is what the plug says
It also takes 9V and more than 2A from my Power Delivery Charger, which is pretty good
Only with the adapter and cable that came with it it is super charging.. if I use Samsung's fast charging set up or any other set up it is only charging, slow!!!
Very disappointing.
Hello there.
I was wondering if there is an option for non-supercharge in android oreo settings.
I want to know that because i think that with supercharge, the battery life will reduce faster.

I wouldn't worry too much about it Otherwise, just use a different cable or charger than the stock one and Supercharging will stop working.

I was able to get almost 1 ampere but at 9V. This is almost as good in terms of power as the standard super charge adapter.
I am so glad that Huawei decided to make their devices compliant with the common standards so we can choose from a wider variety of charging options.

9V1A is nowhere near supercharging levels (4.5V5A or 5V4.5A)... its 9W compared to 22.5W of power!
Never used a Power Delivery Charger personally, and if it only does 9V1A, I won't anytime soon! A standard Huawei charger gives more power (5V2A - 10W)! And Huawei doesn't use the most common standard...Qualcomm Quick Charge, so we don't have have a wider variety at all!
for a first time user with a fast charge/ dash charge i'm really impress with the charging rate.
Fast charge with original charger and cable. about 30mins I went from 25 to about 86ish%
Charging works well for me.
Large Apple Charger, 80W Fast charges
Huawei Original Super Charges
Oneplus 5 Dash charger Charges normally
Galaxy S5 charger with a different cable - charges normally
Haven't measured the volt and A
Does any one know what the actual charging standard is called on a "technical" level?
Super-charge is hardly a tech spec

Believe it's close to 4000mA I think..
That's supercharging..but it'll lower as you gradually get higher..so speeds at 90% will be lower than at 10%
Coming from OnePlus3 - 0% to 60% in 30 min (tested many times), I am not impressed by the Huawei P20 pro supercharging...
Tested again today, I got from 9% to 45% in 30 min.
Huawei claims the P20 pro will do 0% to 85% in 45 minutes.
I got from 9% to 80% in 1 hour!
I am on the latest Pie Rom - 9.0.0.195 and using the original charger + cable.
Any suggestions? I don't have any other huawei charger to test with...
Also on a "regular" good quality charger (in the car) it is slower then the OnePlus3 (and I do realize it is 4000 vs. 3000 mAh capacity battery), but still feels much slower...
Charging issue!

Hey just wanted to know if charging ever gone Above 2500MA, using the Amper app?. And does it stay about 2000ma or does it drop?.
My issue is it hits 2500and then drops down to sometimea 550ma.?, I got no clue Y!
It charges a few point up and then slows its input into the phone. in the range of 700to 900ma. And also I have restarted the device, closed all apps. Useless and also charged it from 2%, It's still pathetic! Please advise as I feel this model may have a manufacturer defective possibility.,
Thanks

I just tested the original charger and cable with my p20 pro:
I got stable 4290mA in Ampere App (at least over the last 10minutes)
(The phone is a CLT-L09 with latest 9.0.0.270 firmware)
Charging issue!

The charger included on the retail box is amazing ! Using it with the supplied braided USB-C cable, I can have the phone charged from 0 to 100 in about 45 mins.
The charging time is extended with a normal charger (5v, 2A) to about 1.5hrs, and several hours if you connect it to your computer.
On any scenario, I did not detected any temperature surge on the phone at all. Using the ROG charger is the best option for its speed and the advantage of having all the electronics on the charger, rather than on the phone (at least for the fast charging option).

its normal for huawei to preserve battery life span.... other phones do the same they just display you 0% when there is still juice left

Does anyone know shat charginspeed is used when charging over USB-PD?
If I connect the wireless charger to Huaweis a 22,5 W supercharger => it charges but it does not fast charge over wireless charger
If I connect the wireless charger to USB-C PD desktop charger that is capable of 60W => the wireless charger shows fast charging exactly as it does when I connect Huaweis 40W supercharger
Charging is slow myvphon
I don't use charger supplied with the device; I don't require to be charged this fast.
At home I'm using Anker's wireless charger. It's connected to Anker 6 port charger and I think it charges with about 10W. Works fine overnight.
At work I use generic wireless charger connected to Anker's 18W QC3 charger. I think it's 10W too, although I cannot be bothered to calculate it properly for both; I don't charge USB charge meters so this would be difficult too since phone doesn't give all the data, only charging speed in mA.
I need to get some better charger for the car because my current one, paired with 2m cable, is supplying barely enough juice.
When I tested 40W charger supplied, it's pretty nippy - I'd say just over an hour to get from 0 to 100%
Mine takes about an hour and 15 minutes from zero
Mine takes around an hour and 15 mins to charge to Full.. Really impressed with the speed.

Hi.
I want to know how much mAh does it show on when charging ?
I used many chargers even the 40w one and it can not goes over 3300mah
Now with 65w supervooc its 3400mah.
Does it the max ?

I let my phone get down to 1 percent before charging it. I was halfway trying to pay attention as it charged tonight. It was 40% when I looked 16 minutes in. I forgot about it and looked at the phone and it was at 100% after an hour. It was probably even less than an hour.
In terms of drinking red bull, i guess the phone charges about as fast as my drinking a can of red bull. Kinda quick but not fully charged.
0 to 20 in less than 10mins
0 to 50 in bout 25 mins
full charge takes an hour exact for mine
It charges very quickly. About two cups of coffee. Maybe three. (I don't do Red Bull. It tastes like transmission fluid.)
Since my last OTA update it takes 2 to 3 hours to get the phone fully charged
It just like the advertised 70% in 30 minutes +- 1 minute full charge around 45-50 mimutes.

My OP7T charges 50% in half hr but as OnePlus says it charges 65% in half that's not the case here. And it take around 1hr 20mins tho charge 100%. I don't know what's the issue here

Its too strange. Maybe something wrong with your adapter. Do you get a "Warp Charging" text in lock screen when you charge ur phone?
0 to 90% in 40mins... the last 10% takes longer time to charge...but it is best fast charging i have ever used..

Not the absolute fastest around, but damn sure not the slowest... especially when you consider how much further every 1% of battery will take you on this phone compared to other phones in its class. Fast charging kills batteries anyways, so I charge slowly most of the time since I'm always around a plug these days. I really wish I had this phone back in 2011 when I lived on a bicycle and was always on the road away from home and/or power. My only other gripe is that I wish there was a software switch to turn off fast charging like Samsung offered. Sometimes I only have a fast-charge enabled charger around, but would prefer a slow charge.

I don't slow charge in the traditional sense, but I use a QC 3.0 charger for the same reason. It maxes out at 3A to the battery, or 0.6C charge rate. It's still plenty fast, but slow enough relative to battery capacity that it doesn't stress the battery much and no need to worry about turning a setting off in the phone.
Im using 25w adapter PD to charge V60, charging speed is too slow, need above 3hours from 10-100.
Checking battery in hidden menu, saw charong current max is 1,7A, usually lower.
Normal adapter give me same speed (like a cheap samsung fast charge adapter).

I am having the exact same issue. Have you found any solutions yet? I am about to either return the device or change the battery and charge port. Although, I am not sure if it will help because it has 10 watt wireless charging and still maxes out at 6 watts on wireless.

This combo charing my V60 fast (about 1h30 -2h). Its acceptable for me.
Now i dont mind about charing speed anymore.
