Install via USB not working in developer option - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello everyone,
I have Redmi note 4 Snapdragon version miui 8.10.0 MCFMIDI global stable. I was having problems with external Sd card dislodged abruptly so I did factory reset (soft reset) through twrp and restored all my apps now I am facing lot of difficulty in developer option Install via usb is not working,It says temporarily restricted, I don't know what is happening because of this I can't use Titanium Backup (Lost all backup in factory reset). I searched Internet couldn't find solutions somebody says user Vpn and connect to China server etc etc,did lot of things but still not working.
I also can't sign out of mi account also. Screen shot attached.
I want also want to know could this be that India has blocked Chinese apps including Xiaomi Mi community app.
Please anyone can provide solution.
Thanks in advance.
Best Wishes

I know its a quite old post but if anyone faces this issue install the latest version of miui global rom and flash it.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply even for an old post. I am quite comfortable with the rom I am using. Searching the internet and xda itself I found that this problem occurred in the later versions of MI rom also as lot of people were complaining.
Using RN4 Now as a backup phone with still a lot important data in it which I can't experiment with flashing Rom as I am not that an advanced user. In past suffered huge data loss due to flashing Rom and some other experiments.
Thanks a lot again for the reply. Really appreciate it.
Best Wishes Tc

Its always risky i myself lost lot of data in my redmi 3s prime. It was such a pain

New user on xda-developers needs help..for finding/installing andriod 4.XX

Dear All,
Im a brand new user. Can somebody help me out...I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 wiffi...
I managed to rooted my device successfully ..now I’m looking for a stable android 4.XX with the capability to charge the tablet when connect on pc or laptop via usb. It it possible to install android 4.XX without losing all my installed apps?
I t would be even great with a good instruction how to install it on the tablet.
Can somebody guide me in the right direction..
King regards,
Gevonden
You should really do some searching - the search function will be your best friend. Assuming you are rooted and have a custom recovery installed, I would recommend installing AOKP from this thread and giving it a try.
Again, I would do some searching and READ A LOT. Not everyone is kind when it comes to random posts spamming up the forums.
Well aokp it's a really good rom but you should take into account the fack that the camera it's not working on any ics rom at the moment.
As for your question about the apps i find out that the best way it's to make a cwm back up and then using titanium back up pro (you have to spare some bucks) restore the apps + data that i want from the back up. Also you can make the back up using the free version before flashing the new rom.
Cheers!

[Problem] Redmi 2 issues & pop up ads

Hi guys,
I have been a iPhone user for the past year, so sorry for not being updated.
I ordered a Redmi 2 for a friend. But she complained the phone was too slow, so I asked her to borrow it for some time.
First thing I did was a factory reset. Then installing the most comon apps, facebook, messenger, youtube. nothing more.
So far, appart from the low available RAM at any given time, what's really driving me crazy are pop up ads. They show everywhere, facebook, youtube, messenger. Even in the homescreen.
My first question is.
Are these normal nowadays in Android? I find that hard to believe.
Second question. How can I disable this. I understand in app adds and why they are there. But youtube/facebook/homescreen? The add is pretty much the same almost every time, "Lebara Talk" and shows every time I enter the apps after not using them for like 5 minutes.
Please let me know if there is a way to remove this.
Now on other topic, in case the phone shows itself laggy as she told me, are there better optimized ROMS. Keep in mind this is a non tech-savvy girl using it.
Many thanks
Best Regards
Is it the HM2014811 model with 1GB ram? It probably came with the chinese/global rom which has bloatware. Download the global rom from here: http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/5-10-15-16.28809/
Just make sure you download the correct version! for example for the HM2014811 it would be: xiaomi.eu_multi_HM2014811_5.10.15_v7-4.4.zip (dev rom).
You have guessed it right. Thanks for helping. Are these ROMS stable? Also, I am going to search for it, but until then, it would be much apreciated if someone could point me to a tutorial on how to install these.
There are 2 versions, Developer rom and Stable.
Developer roms get updated every week, stable every ~3 months. The stable one is based on MIUI V6 and the Dev on MIUI V7 so sometimes various fixes that are installed on latest dev roms take a while to get to the stable. I would recommend the Developer rom for Redmi 2 as it has less/ no issues (people have reported SIM lock issues on the stable version).
You can use this guide: http://en.miui.com/thread-142581-1-1.html to install the rom through recovery. With this method it will wipe all the data/apps of the system.
If you want to save your internal storage/apps you can do a backup with the MIUI app or with Titanium Backup and restore afterwards.
Many thanks for the help. It's a new phone now. how can I mark this as solved?
No need, enjoy!

The sound in the phone ear speaker while on calls is too low after xiaomi.eu ROM

I was for a while on the Global Rom (a few months) after receiving the phone with EEA software.
I think one or two weeks ago I wanted to give it a try and update to MIUI 12 and took and installed the suitable ROM from xiaomi.eu, followed by a couple of updates (I think both were made bt TWRP).
I bounced a bit between ROMs, now I am on stable beta 12 that was released a few days ago, I tried before to wipe davlik and data options I think to see if in some way something got messed up on the way. A few Roms I tried were installed with MIFlash utility as well, trying to see all options/find a solution.
I looked a bit here on xda to see similar issues from other posts/people but there were some suggestions to go into the Android files - yet, I did not want to mess if further without asking beforehand - maybe someone knows a little better.
Thanks in advance for any info
Have a nice day

MIUI 12 slow as ...

Hello everyone,
I have my redmi note 7 with which I've kept using MIUI since I bought it. But now the android system weights for 9 go. I think it is insane for a phone, correct me if I'm wrong.
The phone is slow and when I try to erase everything et reinstall it. The system is faster but the system is still heavy.
Do you think rooting it can help solve the issue ? Or may those 9 go of system be caused by some viruses ?
Thanksnin advance,

Unlock the bootloader and flash a customer without root. You have a big choice, the most one are very fast and stable
Thank you for your answer.
0) what is the weight of a normal custom system once installed ?
1) Do you mean to flash a rom and still using the original kernel ?
The last time I flashed a system, it was on a Galaxy S2.... Did the things changed ? At that time we had an important risk to brick the phone under gingerbread version of Android (that version had some kind of bug) .
2) Are the risks still high today ?
I looked a bit through the list or roms on xda and the lineageOS seems to come out as the lightest rom.
3) Is there a room that is more stable than the others ?
4) Is there a rom that is kept updated more than the others ?
5) What about the android security updates once a custom rom is installed ?
Sorry that is a lot of questions but I need an update since my galaxy S2
Thanks in advance,

First, when you unlock your bootloader your phone make a factory reset. Then you have the choice which ROM. lingeos, havoc, pixel os are stable and have the last security patch. Then you have the choice with or without gapps (Google apps). In every thread is a how to and the recommend gapps. Orange fox is a very good recovery. And brick risk is small. Sometimes I had a softbrick with testing around kernel and modules, but it easy to fix. Make a backup with the customer recovery before. The weight I don't know in the moment. My daughter change the pattern . In the forum is a old how to unlock and under development is the recovery. You will find it. Have fun

Thank you very much for your answer.
I'll post the comparison of the weight of the system once I'll have installed it.

Seeking English ROM with gApps for Huawei DRA-AL00 (Y5 2018/Enjoy 8e Youth)

I have a Huawei DRA-AL00 (either called the Y5 2018 or Enjoy 8e Youth depending on which source you believe) currently running Android 8.1 (device details from Droid Info attached).
I am seeking an English language ROM with gApps (or the option to add it). I have already searched the forums and found this thread, however, the ROMs listed seem to just be copies of the stock ROM (or, at least, I can't find any details about them except that they're Android 8.1) I'm worried they'll have the same issues as the factory reset OS that I've already tried. I also searched google generally and found a lot of ROMs for other Huawei phones but none that looked promising for this one... Neither LineageOS nor ArrowOS seem to have an option for this phone. I also don't see a TWRP version that's been specifically tested for this phone, but I'm thinking of trying the one that's recommended for the Y5 2017 or the Enjoy 8 Plus. Of course, that's only relevant if I can find a custom ROM worth using. I'm willing to risk bricking this phone by using a TWRP and ROM that are intended for a different but similar phone, but I'd rather do so with input from someone who's more knowledgeable about phone OSs than me . I'll post the results of any ROMs I try here so others with this phone can have clearer info on what works with it.
Thanks for your help!!

Additional info below, not necessary to answer the original question .
For context, I'm a complete newb to flashing custom ROMs on phones. That said, I follow directions just fine and have spent most of today watching and reading tutorials for other Huawei phones (can't find one for this phone specifically...). I've also already tried several different fixes to get this phone functional without replacing the OS, but each new fix keeps raising a new issue or only partially resolving the original one. Hence reverting to the solution that's always served me well on laptops and desktops, replacing the OS.
I have already:
- Factory reset the phone.
- Set the system language to English (this succeeded in getting most of the day-to-day interface to show up in English, but about half of the pop-up messages and the contents of the in-built app store/browser/etc are all still in Chinese...).
- Replaced the keyboard app as it was also still an odd mix of English and Chinese which made typing pretty difficult...
- Tried four different methods to install gPlay on a Huawei phone all of which appeared to be working during install but result in a gPlay app that won't open.
- Tried installing the apps that I need without going through the Play store, however, anything affiliated with google (eg gmail, gmaps) refuses to work. I updated Google Play Services and Google Services Framework APKs to the most recent versions I could find that are Android 8.1 compatible but that didn't fix the issue.
- Disabled as much of the bloatware as I can.
If I can't find a decent ROM for this phone, I'll keep trying to work around its issues using third party apps. However, I'm starting to lose hope in reaching a truly functional solution with the current OS. It'd be sad to give up on this project since it's a quite nice little phone for the very basic functions I need - decent speed and truly epic battery life (nearly a week if I'm not using it much!). At the end of the day though, it only cost me $88 in the first place, so I'd rather risk bricking it by flashing an incompatible ROM than leave it to gather dust in the back of a drawer somewhere .
Hey I have a Huawei DRA-AL00 with English ROM . It comes with Gapps and stuffs but my problem is getting Twrp for it. Can I ask how you got yours?
