Hello,
Does anyone have any input on which ROM I should install that is the best maintained (A2017U)? Mostly I'm concerned more with having later security patches than a higher version of Android.

Coming from a Note 1 (N7000), I'm quite satisfied with the work of XDA developer bauner . He set his focus on providing a stable CyanogenMod based ROM wich is always updated with the latest security patch level - no fancy, just stable and secure. He is even working on a CM14.1 ROM.
I got an old Note 3 from my son. I'm not sure, if I should keep it, despite it's way better hardware wise than my Note 1 from 2011. I keep some business related data on my phone, so my focus is on security.
From looking around, I found several ROMs for the N9005 which haven't been updated for months. I found some other ROMs (based on Note 7 stuff) which are updated frequently, but seem to focus on fancy stuff, nice features, but never mention any security related update.
So I'm wondering: is there really no ROM for N9005 with focus on security? Or did I miss one?
I'm sure most of the CM13 roms comes with the latest security updates. Trader is still updating temaseks cm13 with security upgrades for example. You can also go go ahead and try out one of the two CM 14.1 roms here on the forum.
The CMs are constantly updated. If you want 6.0, there is Temasek's. Otherwise, there are also the CM14.1 builds from trader418 and christer12, even if the first one seems to be more stable
still can't find a suitable ROM
Thanks for your response.
Reading your comments, I was continuing searching all XDA ROM threads for Cyanogen ROMs. Google is pushing security updates on a monthly base. So I was looking for a ROM which follows this path. I would even pay a monthly fee for it.
From what I've read so far, I got the impression that the work on Temasek CM13 ceased in favor of the CM14 builds (which are not stable enough for my personal use case). From android-hilfe.de (German forum)
Is there anybody working on this ROM? - No, work on CM13 stopped

Looking at the Temasek thread I can see under "current info"
Android Version: 6.0.1_r30

A quick google search shows this version is from April 2016. Looking at his repository, Temasek stopped his commits in August and I wasn't able to find another repo which is still maintained. Trader is developing CM14 and he is supporting CM13 for Verizon. There's a Temasek 12.2 from October, also build by Trader, but I don't know the patch level. Looking at his Twitter account, Trader is busy with university stuff at the moment, so he had to reduce work on the ROMs - he omitted at least two patch levels (or even more).
Looking at Purify, the last version is also from October (hmm, does he depend on the work of Trader?). And finally Christer closed his threads CM threads for unknown reasons. Maybe because he was not providing his kernel sources, like the XDA guidelines demand for GPL stuff.
So, which CM based ROM did I miss? Is there one I'm not aware off? It seems I still can't find any CM13 ROM which is actively maintained on a regular basis.

My fork of temaseks cm13 is found at GitHub.com/trader418. I'll upload an update later today with the latest security patch. I aim for a monthly update at the least however uni work had been getting on top of me. But now I'm finished for Christmas I have more time.
Hello
I wanted to know if it was possible to patched by twrp or otherwise "the google security patch" on the rom stock 20s.
Because the security patch is only October on the rom stock.
If so, how?
Thank you for your answers.
This is not possible as the ROM on Le Pro3 isn't 'stock' AOSP
Thank you, it's a shame.
It will be hopefully available in February. As it is common practice for Carrier-Bassed phones in USA to receive security patches quarterly. Otherwise we do have CM13 and Slim6
Hello everyone
I wanted to share with you the ROM LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2) for HTC ONE M7 compiled for a personal need.
The ROM is available by following this link (copy/paste this link in your browser) : independanceprods.com/2017/10/07/lineageos-14-1-htc-one-m7-03102017/
The site is in French since I am French
I do not do tutorial since the installation is similar to all those present on the NET.
Google Apps are pre-installed
I have not noticed any bugs since its installation and it allows us to stay up to date in terms of security (Lineage does not compile but the changelog evolves)
Take care of yourself
Peace
You're in the wrong category, also there already are recent unofficial builds for LineageOS for the m7.
Thanks! Just a few questions: isn't it a problem to pack google apps with the rom? Doesn't google disallow that?
Also is the battery life okay? I notice a strong difference between Sense roms and AOSP roms, would like to know if this one works fine.
After testing the rom it looks pretty good. But there are no gapps preinstalled and speakerphone bug is present like in all N roms.
Gets very hot, and why is the sound worse then the stock firmware? Where is the google store? I dont have youtube app. Hopefully it will all be upgraded.
Do you mean by staying up to date that off the statistics your device will every time update? And later a release will be compiled? Because I keep hearing cracks. Or just a release will be compiled?
Released date : 18th april 2019
Android security patch date : January 1,2019
Caution : In order to avoid various problems with the device, developers recommend to wait for the release version of the update, because in this version there may be various kinds of bugs/errors!
Get It From Here

Hi,
Is this still based on android 7.0 or is it finally based on some newer version?
Is there a change log about the improvements?
Is there a chance to get update on global version? Or we should forget having global ROM.
Thanks

From side of meizu, android version will not be updated, but flyme 8 will contain all the features of latest android version. Only phones released this year will get android upgrades. So our phone still lives in 7.Yes upgrades to global might be late. It is dead before, but now may be updates might come after 7.3 A stable released. Change to A version if you can.Hope u understand it.

I'm sorry I don't know what the best version is, but these forums have at least two modern CM 16's for Axon7. One thread is

I would recommend updating to official 8.0 version B04. Works well and is an improvement over 7.1

Where can I find this version to download? Do disable encryption for TWRP work in that version? I couldn't disable it in B02 Oreo version no matter which method I tried :/
