Hello - I urgently need help with my Samsung Galaxy Tab.
I flashed a wrong PIT/PDA & what happened is:
- my Galaxy Tab does not reboot at all
- the flashlight in the back suddenly switched ON automatically
No matter how long I press the Power Button, the device switches off just for one second, and then the flashlight switches ON again - but no reboot.
I cannot get into download mode / when I try to use commands with Odin, it only says: error: device not found.
Odin does show my device ([COM:4]), it appears as: Added // only the download mode does not work!
When I tried to start SuperOneClick, trying to Unroot, it is stuck with: "Waiting for device"
Weirdly, though, my netbook does install the drivers automatically when I plug it in. Which means, my netbook can "read" the device.
Does anyone here know how I could make the extreme Hard Reset, without having to reboot?

If you think this post should rather go to the Developers section, please feel free to move it // I am thankful for any help
Have you tried connecting to it with ADB to see if you can reach it at this level (apart from with SuperOneClick)? Try installing the Droid Explorer application on your Windows PC and see if it will recognise your Tab. If it will you should be able to initiate a reset from the Droid Explorer UI. If it won't I would suggest that you are hard bricked and it will have to visit Samsung. Good luck!
Hello,
thank you for your advice.
adb does not detect my device ..
and, unfortunately, neither does Droid Explorer
Just find it so strange that ODIN does ..
but like you said -
I am also afraid, that this is a "hard brick" & I will go see the retailer tomorrow.
Thank you, though, for offering help.

If Odin sees it, its not bricked. What image is on the LCD when Odin sees it, or is it blank?

I guess the problem here is that even if Odin sees the USB device connected, if the Tab won't go into download mode then it's as good as bricked. With the SGS you can construct a USB jig with a 301k resistor between pins 4 and 5 of the micro USB to push the device into download mode if it won't respond any other way. I wonder if a similar thing would work for the Tab... Sounds like a challenge for someone who has two Tabs and doesn't mind experimenting a bit with one of them.

lol, I'll get my cheap Chinese Tab cables this week and hack one up to test.
My guess is that Odin will only see the Tab when it is in download mode. Id try flashing it in that state and find out for sure. It sure cant hurt.
You went to your retailer?I have exactly the same problem!!
First of all - THANK YOU for having started this discussion.
Yes, I went to the retailer. My Galaxy Tab is with Samsung Technical Support now; will keep you posted.
To answer some earlier questions, yes ODIN did recognize my Tab; but the screen on the Tab remained totally black. Only this strange "flash" light on the back kept glowing.
rotohammer, if you really get to test what you mentioned before, I'd be interested to hear what happened - but, personally I would not recommend it, unless you are sure you want to risk completely ruining your dear Tab.

I did ... and less than 2 weeks later ..
Update:
13-Jan-2011
Today noon I got a call from my retailer my Galaxy Tab was ready to be picked up & I was really lucky: my retailer said the repair would normally cost EUR 650.-
.. as I had damaged the whole mainboard ..
but as the Tab was less than 1 month old, they were so kind to do it w/in my warranty - so I did not have to pay for it.
I'm very relieved, as you can imagine.
Got my Galaxy Tab back with a brand-new mainboard, everything is working well &
I sure learned my lesson.
I will not flash the Galaxy Tab again.
Only because Galaxy Tab and Galaxy i9000 are both on Froyo, it does NOT mean that you can flash the same software!
I wanted to apply the 3 button combo fix on my Galaxy Tab but apparently it does not work!
Bricked mine as well, but mine is a weird case
I bring up the weirdest case of bricking so far, i was on an official Arabic (P1000JPJK2)Firmware, and i noticed a new Arabic release on SamsungFirmware.com (P1000JPJM3) i downloaded it and downloaded the .pit file, Started Odin v1.7 and unchecked repartition, selected the PDA and the pit and started the processes, odin finished and Reseted the device and give me the green light with the word PASS, however, the my p1000 decided to reboot into download mode automatically, so i rebooted the device manually and got stock in the Samsung Logo and keeps looping. so i decided to go back to my previous Rom but it will always fail and i would have to reboot my tab and it will show the good ol' Phon-PC logos, however, odin would see it and would flash anything i want. i tried flashing various versions of rom's but they would all fail... i tried repartition checked and unchecked and nothing worked, so lastly i decided to flash the .pit file alone and that worked and got me back to where i was stuck in the Samsung logo loop and no ROM would be flashed through Odin BUT the (P1000JPJM3) but it still will not boot! and funny enough i took it to sammy's repair shop and they told me to come pick it up in a few hours but they told me that they failed to repair it and they would need to keep it till tomorrow, but they guy was not that optimistic about getting it repaired and to make things worse i couldn't get unrooted so there is a good chance that there will be no warranty... does this mean that i bricked it for good? please help me.
Hi everyone I have readed all the threads regarding flashing/hacking/fixing
first of all i have try to do this odin and with the the flash but found out it wasn't that eazy first
when i went to get my tab into downloading screen the computer can't find the dumb tab thats connected.
if you have that problem what i did.
first i disconnected the usb fromthe tab and click on setting/applications/development/ and click the usb debugging check mark it will not let you check it if you have the usb plug in (Im dumb so i found out the hard way) then installed the samsung kies ( i don't knwo if that helped or not but i just did everything that i could find to try to get this to work which was to connect the tab to the computer when the tab is on downloading mode)
now i started odin3 and it show that the yellow box showing it was connected.
started the with the normal p1 hidden pit /gt-p100/modem p1000
i was thinking yes i'm on my way but hold on it freezed on me. and just stop with a error and odin tells me it fail. but on my tab it show that its at 50%
so what i do i hard reset my tab and now the next problem
the famuse 3 icon the phone/ <!>/ computer Icon
i was oh ****. so what i did form that screen i turn on my odin and it show its still connected. so what i did was try to do the same thing again but nothing just error.
so the next thing i did was open odin and just run modem.bin file which is the modem_beni9000 file and with that i was about to get a splash screen the Samsung Tab ... and nothing else. well from there i figure ill try to finish the process. when i got the samsung tab screen i was able to get into the download screen again with power + down volum and i'm in the download screen and still the tab is connected to the computer and the odin still reconize that its connected so i ran the P1000XXJK5 and bam... i was able to get my tab back and was able to get the phone icon and working. i might be lucky that it work but if your in the same problem as what i was in i hope it help. i no expect after the 2 days of reading and trying stuff i'm no noob now still call myself noob PM if u need to ask quest ill be happy to help as much as possible ^^
Hello every one,

(My 15 yr daughters) and got the tab back from the cop shop it came back wiped and wont boot! gets as far as samsungs logo and stops. Has twrp on it. I have tried to load stock rom as of right now I dont see this going to happen as it sits. I linked tab to my computer running win 10 and odin sam drivers down loaded and computer does not see this tab I can link the wifes tab 4 and it sees hers so I know usb and computer, drivers, Odin are good to go. One question that I have is can I back up the wifes tab on a sd card and reboot my daughters tab with that sd card? or do I need to get in to down load? I have spent 5 days on this site looking for answers that I could not find in other posts before asking for help.
Thanks for any info you could give me.
Hello everyone,
First of all, let me explain what had happened, my mom shut down her tablet before she went to bed and when she tried to turn it on the next day it showed a usb logo.
I cant access recovery mode, or any mode...
My computer doesnt read the drivers, well on windows 7 it doesnt read and windows 8 it says that it installed even though it didnt, its still unknown, anyways long story short I cant see the device in any program I tried.
The drivers name is moorefield.
I don't know what else to do, my mom is so sad and I really need to fix this, she loves her tablet. If someone can explain how to fix it, instead of giving me a link to a tutorial. because even when I followed other ones even on this website, the problem isnt exactly like mine.
The worst problem here is that I can't find it in the programs such as asus flash tool or xfstk downloader.
I really appreciate the help, thanks in advance!!!!
I have the same problem, hope someone can help us out....
Have you tried putting it fastboot/bootloader? Does data matter? Does the screen turn on at all? If you answer some of these I might be able to help
Soo i accidentally disabled the dev options on my samsung galaxy s7 edge and then decided to restart my phoe because i didnt notice and now im stuck with an error that says "custom binary blocked by FAP lock" now i looked around the internet on ways to fix this but the thing is that i cant really connect my phone to my computer, yes i did the volume down+power+home button thing and i connected it to my pc but nothing happened, odin didnt recognize my phone and my computer reads it as "gadget serial" i tried installing the usb drivers and all but i keep getting errors, its like my phone doesnt realy wants to cooperate.
Anyways i was wondering if any of you could help me with this please, i beg of you if anyone has an answer im willing to try, also if you need more info just ask, ill be glad to provide, thanks!
Anyone?...
Well i managed to fixed it so heres the solution for all of you that may come across this,
Soo basically make sure youre pc is fully updated, it must have all window drivers installed (i used windows 10) all window updates, make sure all the pieces of your pc are updated and then connect your phone and for the love of god be patient
I take it this is you're first time encountering something like this... at any rate, welcome to the forums.
