July Security Update - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Guides, News, & Discussion

Just received and installed July Security Update (~30mb)

I received it too. Fortunately it flashed successfully, i don't feel any changes maybe a little smoother.

I receivet it to, Serbia, 30 mb. I think that there are no changes.

If it takes 2 more days to get it out, they could call it the August security patch...
V11.0.12.0.QDIMIXM

Definitely Xiaomi should not go ahead with Mi A4.

Only visible change was that the feedback app was redesigned

Who has this full zip file?

I have this irritating bug...why does it show none in ringtones
Please help

Recieved...no changes

i think they silently added also a play store security update to july 1st.

New HERO update released

Looks like it's something to do with Utube and client update (whatever that is).
http://www.htc.com/europe/support.aspx
NO...
there is info:
Update Information: Firmware over-the-air (FOTA) client update & YouTube player Update
Can someone who has this come up get a logcat of the url please.
Change the system date and the update notification will pop up.
Nothing changed besides the Youtube player (it is working now, geez it just took HTC 5 months to fix it)...and the settings menue look differently.

Moved my date forward to 16th June (Yesterday) then allowed the phone to re register on the network and it the update popped up. Didn't take long to download (it is only a minor update at the moment though) It took quite a while to install though (about 20 mins until it was fully settled).

Oh, right, it's because I have a HTC Hero Orange, but I've got my T-Mobile sim inside, I guess that would matter, silly question to ask, but need it answered.
Thanks

Missing changelog pulldown on update screen in playstore

The title says it all. Am I the only one that lost the the changelog pulldown on the update screen in the playstore? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. It was one of the best additions with true time saving functionality to the playstore IMHO. I haven't had it in some time. Deep down I was hoping that it would magically reappear.

If you mean the "recently updated" section? it is still there for me. You may want to update your Store app, the new one has "play protect" and I don't see that on your screenshot. My version (not beta) v8.1.73.S-all [0] [FP] 165518514
EDIT: just noticed in your sig you are still on 7.1.1? ha ha I also have the N7 Flo, running LOS 14.1 current weekly.
Thanks for the reply. And yes I haven't updated since i got received a new phone from huawei due to the bootloop of death.... I figured I would wait for the bugs to get worked out of oreo and start there! My playstore app is current at 8.1.73. The picture is dated but it shows the pull down dialog that I am asking about. It allows you to see the changelog without having to open up the individual app page. Please don't criticize my excellent MS paint skills.....

LOL. 8.0 is the bug fix for 7.1.2. Smooth sailing here with 8 on several devices. Did not really appreciate what you were talking about before, but then I have never pre-inspected the changelog.... just auto update everything without looking first. If one app is of interest I read the changelog as its downloading, but that's rare. If I were you I would install 8.0 and not look back.... after all why did you buy a Nexus device, if not for anything but security updates which this month in particular is very important in light of the wireless 'BlueBorne' attacks. Best of luck to you.

Downloading N950USQS2BQK2 VZW Firmware...going to upload it tomorrow...
What's the difference between N950USQU2BQJA and N950USQS2BQK2 ? I just got the first update 2 days ago and just got the second one just now. But can't find any information on it.
Im wondering the same thing.. An update a day after the other update? Sounds like someone broke something or did an Oopsie.
First update had the October security update and camera enhancements, the second update is the November security update.

The BQK2 is the release build for November patch with 2nd bootloader...I am uploading the firmware...link posting tomorrow

Unfortunately, the update borked my phone -- I just get a black screen with a message "System UI has stopped" -- when I click it off the screen, it comes back a second later. I saw in another forum that perhaps substratum is the culprit -- anyone have any ideas on a fix? I know that the phone is working to some degree, my Huawei watch is still connected and I get notifications on it. But I can't really access the phone at all, only black screen and error messages. Also, I have tried safe mode and I get the same issue -- which tells me that it shouldn't be a substratum issue since safe mode deactivated 3rd party apps, but who knows? Thanks in advance.

A lot of issues with sustratum and latest build...not sure but I think most are rebooting to recovery and clearing cache...but there are several posts about it if you search

I had the same issue like u after the update. if u do have a substratum theme installed then that's most likely your issue. Luckily for me I had usb debugging on and I was able to adb and uninstall the theme systemui by running these command through adb.
adb shell
pm uninstall com.android.systemui.SwiftDark.Android7SamsungS8

Can you tell me the keywords? Have tried to search and I'm not finding anything. Not rooted, so don't think I have recovery.

Anytime you do an OTA the Substratum app developers suggest uninstalling all of the themes. Nothing is broke on the device it's just causing an issue with seeing the home screen/settings.
This is also why using ADB to uninstall the layers would fix the issue.
Just for future reference for everyone.

Search "OTA sustratum" or remove sustratum but from within Note 8 forums....or just substratum
Anybody know if this new update kills the hotspot trick for grandfathered UDP?

Gmail lost dark mode after Feb android update

Humm, since last update, Gmail no longer offers dark mode.
Seems to be a bug, as many users are complaining about this.
Waiting for an update, soon.
https://9to5google.com/2020/02/03/gmail-dark-theme-missing/
Saw a fix that someone posted on Reddit and it worked for me.
If you have root go to /data/data/com.google.android.gm/shared_prefs/flagprefs.xml
From there edit the DarkThemeSupport flag to true.

Thanks for responding. I'm on stock locked Verizon February update. Call screening worked in January but I don't think with locked BL I can go back. Wonder why they deleted it??
FYI, with the latest gmail version I still had to:
- force stop gmail
- clear cache
Dark mode is back

Dark mode never left for me in Feb patch. Im running stock rooted. I too have the now have the automatic call screening which I'm using. The one feature I was hoping to get but dont have from the pixel 4 is screen attention where the screen stays on if your looking at it.
The Feb patch seems to have stuck my phone in a boot loop.
EDIT: eventually my phone managed to boot again, and says that the update installation failed. I think I'll leave this update alone for now.
