I plan to root my Samsung Galaxy S5 G-900T with MAgisk. Some manuals suggests to decrypt the data first by using the Format data in TWRP recovery following by flashing with the no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip and MAgisk.zip files.
1. Should I format Data and install no-verify-opt-encrypt before the flashing the Magisk on Galaxy S5?
2. If answer is "Yes", what version of the no-verity-opt-encrypt I should use: 5.1 or 6.1. I have both. Or it doesn't matter which one to choose?

Don't know if you still need the info, but I've just worked out TWRP. I've been rooted for ages but never saw your post; it's only because I decided to try TWRP again that I found you in a Google search.
TWRP that works on the J320ZN is for j3lte. To download: https://dl.twrp.me/j3lte/
Others have had issues installing SuperSU.zip in TWRP.... as did I. The only way to get root that would work is CF-Auto-Root..... because usually SuperSU.zip would then cause a bootloop. BUT of course, what I didn't realize at the time, was CF-Auto-Root once installed reflashed stock recovery! But what it DID enable me to work out (once it clicked in my head that this was going to be the issue and after I'd nearly set up my phone again) was that I was getting a dm-verity error.... something I know nothing about other than it's a new thing I have to do on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A. So MAYBE SuperSU wasn't installing because of that? Who knows.
Anyway, now I'm fully working with TWRP and root and it's sticking with no problems.
So install TWRP the usual way....(I used twrp-3.2.1-0-j3lte.img from the link above). If you need help with this quote me and ask, or look for a TWRP tutorial on j3lte (I know the J320YZ uses this TWRP and has a tutorial on how to install TWRP with Odin).
Then install the latest SuperSU.zip:
https://download.chainfire.eu/1220/SuperSU/SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip through TWRP "Install" method.... it must be on your external SD card. Go to the "Install" button on TWRP menu, select storage to extSD and then find SuperSU.zip.
THEN I had to install the Dm-verity and Forced Encryption Disabler through TWRP "Install" method (so this file also needs to be on your external SD card):
https://androidfilebox.com/miscellaneous/dm-verity-and-forced-encryption-disabler/
I used no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip
Then reboot, and reset up your phone.
FINALLY!
Whether you need to do the dm-verity thing I don't know... I'm FAR from an expert. This was all through trial and error but it is the only way to keep root through TWRP without CF-Auto-Root.....FOR ME PERSONALLY.
You could try just TWRP and the latest version of of SuperSU.zip through TWRP....see if that works. If you get stuck in a bootloop, then I just flashed CF-Auto-Root with Odin and it fixed that.... then start the install process again, this time adding dm-verity patch AFTER SuperSU.zip.
If you want to skip TWRP and just root your phone, then the easiest way is to flash CF-Auto-Root with Odin. File at https://download.chainfire.eu/986/CF...etrieve_file=1.

So I’m getting this in my Samsung S7 edge exynos with latest stock rom 8.0
¤Magisk 18.1 and magisk manager 7.1.1¤
Format /data,
restore stock boot.img to install magisk zip
install remove encryption,
install Magisk 18.1,
Reboot system.
After reboot to twrp, /data is again encrypted.
(But the data remains unencrypted when rooted with SuperSu)
☆Please tell me how do I keep my data in twrp unencrypted while keeping magisk installed☆
《Any help is greatly appreciated》
You can flash the modded twrp with encryption support so you don't need to remove encryption of your device.
the latest one I'm using is the one on my signature.
If you wan't to keep device unecryped anyways use this video for as a guide, this is the first guide I used before using xda forums: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwLja68KmKM
I installed TWRP, formatted data partition and ran the no verify opt encrypt 6.0 zip. The phone boot loops. I would appreciate any help

I have the same problem
have you been root?
I patched the boot image using Magisk Manager app and flashed it using Odin. I can't post externals links yet, so PM me if you need help
Thanks @0Dias for the help. I was able to root stock pie with Magisk.
Hi, How did you get to install twrp and also root android 9.0? Would you mind sharing the tutorial you used for doing it?
Steps I took:
Install Pie via Odin
Used Miracle box to remove RMM prenormal ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-rmm-fix-oreo-8-1-oem-unlock-fix-dez-t3877764 ) and flashed TWRP recovery ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...730f-fm-g-gm-x-samsung-galaxy-j7-pro-t3835629 )
Boot to TWRP> select to keep system read only> Wipe>Format Data> Go back and reboot to recovery >
Install no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0 zip file >install RMM bypass zip file ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75514982&postcount=2 ) >
Install magisk zip ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445 ) > install RMM bypass a second time> reboot to system
Thank you @strai

Hi,
There is several threads about s7 edge rooting, but i can not find latest method. So, can you tell me what is the best method to root Galaxy S7 edge? SM-G935FD (Dual Sim), stock rom Oreo 8.0.0
I found two methods on youtube, can you tell me which is better?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TORwcYuRT7E - SuperSU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWFVtONNgOQ - Magisk
! Factory reset is neccesary !
*Install drivers
*Download latest version of stock
*Download Odin
*Find TWRP for you version
*Download magisk/supersu zip and put on sdcard
Unlock developers options and enable usb debugging and oem unlock
Reboot in Download mode
Open Odin - uncheck f. reset time and auto reboot.
Put TWRP img - AP
After flash press in same time power + home + volume down and when u see Samsung logo switch to power + home + wolume down
Now u are in TWRP.
Go to wipe- advanced - tipe yes to format.
Go to install and flash dm-verity and force encryption disabler zip.
Now flash magisk/supersu zip.
Reboot and enjoy
factory reset - wipe data or from where to do? from operating system?
TWRP version you uploaded is already for my version? here i found https://eu.dl.twrp.me/hero2lte/ more updated version, but which to choose? tar or img?
download odin - which version? https://odindownload.com/download/#.Xk_1AjIzaHt 3.13.1 or 3.13.3
from where to download magisk/supersu? or which is better?
also may i write both zip file at once on sd card (no-verity..., magisk)?
Is it possible to root with this method without sd card?

You can remove all of these
Basic information:
My Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e, (SM-T725C)
Magisk: Magisk is installed, using falsh patched image.
TWRP link: https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxytabs5elte.html
Issue:
Now I wish to install TWRP to my device, but I can't. I followed the instruction on TWRP page, install TWRP app via google play, download the vbmeta.tar and flash it. Now I ended up with the result that I can't get into my system. (When I enter recovery, it's TWRP, when I boot normally, it just stays with samsung logo.)
I managed to reflash the magisk patched image and now I can boot into the system. But how can I flash TWRP, with magisk enabled at same time?
(I use TWRP to flash opengapps because google apps are not included in Chinese version of Samsung system)

I dont know if this works with the latest update, but it certenly worked with android pie and the first android 10 update.
Edit 'I have just seen your device is a different number so may not work'
Instal TWRP without a P.C. for Galaxy Tab S5e (SM-T720) keeping stock ROM.
I wrote this guide because I had difficulty trying to instal a patched version of twrp through odin so I found this alternative way which worked very well for me. Please read all through especially the warning at the end before attempting to...

Hope this helps
