What is the difference between the T725 LTE and the T727 LTE? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e Questions & Answers

I was looking to purchase a unbranded LTE capable Tab 5e and found that there was an T725 and a T727 Model. Looked on the Samsung website but they onlyrefer the the Tab LTE. I googled but no answer. i wonder if one is the US version and the other the international version. Anyone know?

If by "unbranded" you mean one not locked to a carrier, then you want the T725. Anything else will be locked to a carrier.

Yes. I have the Verizon Tab S5e which is SM-T727V.
The T727 isn't just in the US. I found a Turkish variant of the 727.
I can't seem to find a definitive answer as to what the differences are between the 725 and 727 though.

I don't know if this will help anyone looking at the issue in the future, but I got the LTE variant from Vodafone in the UK, and it is the SM-T725. There is no network lock.

S5 model help!?

Hello I recently purchased a galaxy s5 on Craigslist and thought it was an unlocked version but when I got home and looked closer the model number of the phone is SM-G900 ... Does anyone know what carrier the phone originated on?i can't seem to find anything online about this version as all other carriers have a letter after the 900 telling you what carrier it's to. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Also with the version will I get lte on att network?
Nobody can read anything in that tiny screenshot man

Yeah, the screenshot is just a thumbnail. As far as I know, there's a few unlocked versions out there, where the G900W8 and G900F support 4G, and the G900H does not. The G900T is Tmobile's phone, but it is unlocked, supports 4G, and works on AT&T's networks. It looks like whoever sold this to you tried to get one over on you by hiding the letter, because if the actual model of the phone turns out to be G900H, then you won't be able to use 4G on AT&T, because, hardware-wise, the G900H doesn't have the bands necessary to use 4G.
If you can't find it in system info, see what happens when you plug it into your computer. Sometimes (in my case for one), Will say something like: "What would you like to do with this device?"
And then give you the model number of the phone.
If it still turns out to be G900 with no letter, then who knows? Maybe it's some model manufactured straight from Samsung designed to be a developer device. I'm not sure if this is possible, but it's the only other explanation I can come up with.

There you can see the CSC code. You will know if it is a international version or branded version.

international vs. US version? Difference?

Looking for an unlocked S7 Edge (for AT&T network)....the "international" versions are cheaper. Outside of the lack of warranty, are there any other differences? I believe I read somewhere that WiFi calling does not work on the international version....can anyone else confirm this?

I don't know about wifi calling, but it is the same except for CPU. The AT&T version will have the Snapdragon 820 and the international version will have the Exynos 8890.
Long story short, I had the AT&T version since launch. I kept hearing how the Exynos performed better and had better battery life. So I sold my AT&T version about a month ago and got the international version. I'm not looking back. The added bonus is unlocked bootloader and root.

I have the 935f and it works great on At&t. I thought T-Mobile was the only one with WiFi calls. I also heard that Samsung pay doesn't work on international version but I don't use it.
I sold my sprint edge variant and got me a exynos... getting around 2 more hrs sot.

Isnt that whats been said about almost every samsung phone?
You have 1 choice as always with Verizon. You get the Verizon version like always.
How do you even pre-order the international version? On the samsung site all I see are the carrier branded ones.

You can order it here, and they ship worldwide and are reputable:

I'm pretty sure you'll have to get the Verizon model as Verizon is a CDMA network and the international model is GSM and won't work (it'd work on AT&T and T-Mobile as they are GSM networks). Even if it did work you'd have to consider what frequencies/bands the international model supports vs what your carrier uses (and it seems that's not been specified yet, at least not on GSMArena, unless all versions supports all the same frequencies/bands).

I'd be careful
I am still looking into comparing the US Snapdragon variant of the Samsung Galaxy S8+ vs the International variant with the Exynos chip. I will say the Exynos chip usually works a lot better than the snapdragon on a samsung phone. Which makes sense since it is a Samsung chip. The real world speed tests for the Exynos and benchmark tests usually outdo the snapdragon.
With that said, frequency bands need to be compared. Because obviously the international variant will not work for Sprint or Verizon. Furthermore, there are LTE bands to worry about for T-Mobile and AT&T. And I can not seem to verify the bands for the international variant. From what I remember for the S7 International variant, there was no LTE band 12 which T-Mobile uses for their new LTE band. It didn't matter much before but now this band is being used for low-band spectrum which is for inside buildings and rural long distance connections. This band is expanding.
Therefore, I want to first see the real word speed tests (because snapdragon upped their game a bit) and confirm the frequency bands which seems to be harder than I thought. Frequencycheck seems to think the INternational variant has Band 12 but are they reliable this early?
Anyway, can anyone confirm the LTE bands for the International G955F variant? Maybe I need to search in German or French.

It looks like its missing some LTE bands compared to the US version.
Usually don't have band 71 for TMobile... At least on Note 9.

Can I somehow enable those bands?

What about CDMATool?
I see it can enable bands, but I do not see option for band 66 or 71 in a tool.
Thoughts?
I have a note 9 from the same source, perfect expect those carrier specific feartue such as volte, wifi calling . It does work with LTE, but almost half of speed of what I can get from a us version.

The S9 Plus, SM-G9650 (Hong Kong) is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile, I'd be surprised to learn an SM-G9750 isn't. It should work on all CDMA Networks. In some instances sellers on Ebay and Amazon will state that particular variant isn't compatible when in fact it is, just to cover their rear ends.
my sprint sim isnt working for my 9750 out the box... i figured they couldnt do anything, but i called anyways, the sprint rep said if it were "unlocked" it would work, maybe its a network or regional lock, i dont know. Im trying everything to get it "unlocked"... if thats even the problem. Currently waiting on a paid sim unlock service to get back with me, see if they can help.
Any one get a HK s9 or s10 to work on sprint?
If it's Exynos it's not going to work on Sprint or Verizon.
My Exynos S9+ and Note9 work fine with TMO.

Variant list?

Is there a list of all the variants and their compatibility somewhere? Searched for one but nothing comes up.
I don't think there is a list, but in the United states there's the AT&T, t mobile, sprint, Verizon variants. As well as an unlocked firmware variant. There might be boost mobile and cricket variants too. There's a Hong Kong variant, Korean variant (I think), there might be an international version I don't know.
There might be more, but the above is what I have come across. Now as far as the model numbers here in the U.S. the AT&T variant which I have is G975U, this is also the model number for the Verizon, sprint, and t mobile variants. The unlocked variant is G975U1. There is also a G975F and G975N too.

Canada has always had a "W" variant. Not sure why they've always had their own. Lol. I remember buying a Canadian Note 4 and the model was W8 I believe.
