An idea i just had:
Its unpractical to accidently accept calls or do stuff on the touchscreen after a SMS while the phone is in the pocket.
But its nice to see who is calling or reading the SMS with out having to turn the screen on before.
So why not use the light sensor, pockets are usually dark. So the software would run in background on an incoming SMS or CALL event it would first check the light sensor, if its dark, dont turn on the screen just start the ringtone sounds. If the environment is bright, just display the caller or SMS right away.
Additional features would be:
- beeing able define the values when to turn on or not
- optional auto screen turn on if it gets brighter (taking the phone out of the pocket), this should only work if there is still someone calling, or a SMS was received in the last 20 (or so) seconds
- program should only read the light sensor on an incoming event to save energy
- optional it could read the light sensor all the time and auto turn on the display everytime it comes out of the pocket, some people might want that
Only problem is, has anyone been able to access the X1 light sensor before? There are programs for the lightsensors of other HTC devices, but the X1 sensors seems diffrent.
A more simple version of this program could simply check the light values every 5 min (or self difineable interval) and set the registry settings for wakeuponcall or wakeuponsms.
i have gt-i9505 my problem is proximity sensor light on every time but its off when i check this sensor through samsung code *#0*# or Z device Test. im also trying to exit viber but still light is on. during call screen on off normally

Got the digitize r replaced for lg g2 d802
since then, proximity sensor n light sensor are not working properly.. i lost the automatic brightness feature n whenever i make a call the screen turns off n doesnt turn on until the other person ends the call..
found a way to disable proximity sensor but it needs xposed..
m on Dirty unicorns rom n Xposed makes it unstable..
anyone knows any other software way to Disable Proximity sensor ?????

I'm the only one having problems with the Runtastic app and Android 9?
A few minutes after starting a new GPS recording and turning off the phone screen, the application closes completely and stops recording the position.
The runtastic app does not work in background, but stops after a few minutes of stanby.
I've the same problem with other apps (Sport Tracer, Wikilock, ViewRanger .. but not with the Runtastic Mountain Bike app..and it's very strange because the settings of the battery optimization are the same !!
When I try to switch on my torch when im talking a video call like whatsapp or skype , a box appears saying: Unable to turn on torch. Camera light being used by another app. Any fix to this? or any way to use the torch light while using the camera
