Hi,
Got my S4 today and sadly realized there is no option for USB Debugging. No developers option in settings menu.
Or myabe I'm blind??
Any one can confirm?
Go to about phone, then tap build number a bunch of times. That is the standard way to enable the developer menu in 4.2.2.

Hello guys, I have quick questions. I have been having a lot of problems with Samsung Kies:
picture thumbnails not showing
taking forever to sync music
abruptly disconnects halfway
etc.
And i was reading around, realising that it could be due to the USB debugging mode being switched on. I want to switch it off but cant seem to find it anywhere in the settings menu. I know for previous phones you can do so via settings>applications>usb debuggig mode. However, on the s4, i dont even have the 'settings>applications' option... I only have 'settings>application manager
Help appreciated!

USB debug mode is off by default
You have to go to about phone and click on build prop 7 times to enable developer options

Really odd on this one. Settings > More > About Device and then tap the greyed out "build number" line 7 times. Then go back a screen and you'll see Developer Options as a choice in the "more" menu.

Hello,
My S4s (i9500) screen keeps coming on when it reaches full charge, with a notification to unplug my charger. This wakes me up in the middle of the night, I'd like the phone to remain face up during the night...is there any way to stop this from happening?
turn your phone face down?

Thanks, need an answer to my actual question though, about how to disable the screen turning on when this notification happens.

You'll have to wait for a mod. There is no stock way to do that.

1.Head into the Settings menu. Samsung's done things a little differently and changed the way the settings menu looks, so you'll need to hit the "More" tab, and then get into the Software information.
2.Look for "About device" at the bottom. Tap it.
3.Hop on down to the build number, and tap it seven times. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. You'll get a little prompt saying you're about to unlock the developer settings. Hit that button one final time -- seven! -- and they're unlocked.
Now you've got developer settings on the Galaxy S4.

Hmm this is a pretty good workaround, the screen still comes on but turns off on it's own and pretty quick. Thank you.
Guess I'll have to wait for a mod for the screen not to come on at all or to disable the beyond useless notification altogether.
If you have root, grab es file manager or root explorer or something and go to system/media/ui/ and delete whatever sounds you want deleted. Make sure to back them up if you want them back.

Just installed Moar Rom. Auto factory reset is automatically turned on in the lock screen options page and I am not able to disable it. I've searched the forums and did a lot of searching online but I have not been able to find any solution for this. By any chance does anyone have any advice on how to turn of this feature? Thank you!

I think you're talking about the Power Menu in MOAR settings.

I don't believe there is anything in there related to what I am trying to solve. If you go to Settings > Lock Screen, at the bottom there is a section titled Auto Factory Reset. I would like to turn this off.

Sorry, Yes I misunderstood. Have you checked security settings for Google and Samsung. I would say one of them is the reason it's greyed out.
I found that this setting was being controlled by my Exchange server at work. I had read online that this was something that Verizon had implemented, however it appears that is not the case here.
Hi guys. New here on xda. Just wanna know if anyone else has this problem. Seems that randomly when I toggle airplane mode my phone suddenly hangs up/freezes for about 20 secs then restarts. Afterwards when the phone boots, I wont be able to access recent apps (Tried binding it to other keys to no avail) and developer options goes missing (tapping the build number didnt do any good on it) I hope I could send some logs to show you guys but I dont know what to send lol.
1. What I know is it randomly triggers when I toggle airplane mode(sometimes it doesnt happen)
2. I only experienced it with the 2nd builds Cm,aospa, aicp.
Anyone else experiencing this on mm roms? Any fixes?:crying:
This happened to me also. Not just with airplane mode toggle. The other toggles set this off to. the phon also lost the ability to go to home screen by pressing home botton. During the first time that this happened to me, switching users restored the developer settings; and the notification drawer if it also disappeared. But now it doesn't work.
You can substitute omni switch for the recents.

Flash again and use banksgapps instead of opengapps, there seems to be a problem with opengapps.
Link are in thread Paranoid Android Jiayu S3+ first page.

Thanks, but I already tried that to no avail. It seems to be something with the modem of build 2 since it only happned to me when I toggle airplane mode and once when I tried to turn hotspot on. Wifi and bluetooth are ok though.
Did you try this?
Code:
adb shell am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity
Even Nexus phones experience this. It's some kind of a MM bug.

Do adb commands work without developer settings enabled? Gonna try this anyway though im a bit skeptical. Developer settings also disappears along with the recent apps after the reboot.

You can also use Nova Launcher to start the SetupWizardTestActivity. Just drag the Activities on the homescreen and search for the SetupWizardTestActivity. No need for adb.
