Just got my 6t, come from 5t. as usual unlocked then latest twrp from @mauronofrio "thnx" and on defaul 10.3.4.
had strange problem with screen lock section. ive tried with pin, password, pattern all the same, its asks for 2 times as usual then i am setting up all is ok till here. then it never accepts i had to delete password db things under system with twrp file manager.
does any one had the issue?
any solution?

Hi, I have a OnePlus Two which reboots to the second bootanimation when ever I try to uninstall a app. Also when I go to security in settings the settings app crash's too.
I was on oxygen OS with the same issue so I decided to clean install recrunstruction remix ROM on my phone which I did, still with the same issue. Also I had this issue in both of the Roms where as I set a password it woint let me (when I set a pin on my phone it asked me to confirm the pin which I did and it woint let me press the confirm button) I believe that this issue might had happened maybe when I fixed my bricked phone first aid kit, and after that I started to get the problem. Never Mind, I Solved The Problem By Flashing The Stock OTA

I updated tonight to the Android Q 10 - Q Release 1.5 - QP1A.190711.122 by sideloading the OTA and then rooting with Magisk canary. Everything worked beautifully except now when I go to set my screen lock PIN and fingerprints there is no option to set a PIN or pattern. Anyone else have this issue? Any advice how to fix it?
See attached screenshot when I go into security settings the only options available are None and Swipe.
I did some troubleshooting and reflashed the OTA sideload update to stock and the screen lock settings all returned to normal. The I rooted again with Magisk canary and after flashed the patched boot image with fastboot the same issue returned.
How do I report this to the Magisk dev team?

I found a workaround for now.... I reflashed the stock boot image. Set my PIN passcode and then flashed the patched boot image from Magisk.
Now the PIN is enabled but if I go back to the settings to change the screen lock the only two options again are the "None" and "Swipe"... very wierd but definitely repeatable issue.
Does noone else have this issue? This is still not working for me...

I have a S4 GT-I9505 running lineage_jfltexx Version 20190912 nightly.
After a few days, I was not able to unlock the screen with my pin.
When I entered the correct Pin, the unlock screen appeared again after a few seconds.
Entering a wrong pin gave an error message - wrong pin entered.
The current fix I'm using is:
Setting screen-lock-mode to 2 (instead of 0) in /data/system/profiles.xml
This disables the screen lock altogehter.
I found out a work around by creating a new user and a new profile with a lock-screen feature.
When I use the lock-screen feature profile, I cannot unlock as primary user (infinity loop).
Switching to the new user, I can unlock the phone, switch to a profile without lock and
switch to the primary user again.
So there has to be a problem with the user profile of the primary user.
How can I reset this profile for the system settings?
I tried clearing the system settings cache, but this did not work.

Not yet.
I tried to track the problem. Changing the pin / trying to unlock the phone and
see, which sections in the user profile got a new timestamp.
For me, it looks like it is in the com.google.android.gms section of the user profile.
I'm not sure, wether I can delete or overwrite this directory while the phone is running.
And if I delete this section, wether it will be recreated when rebooting the phone.

FYI, I have the same identical problem on LOS 17.1 but on a different device (marmite). This is an Android issue, not something related to this or that LOS version.
hello, i flashed the lightrom in twrp and started having some issues, when setting up the phone i can no longer setup any fingerprints also when setting up a pin it will accept it then keeps saying try again when entering the pin or just will not accept any pin. i've had a good look online as to see what the problem is but cannot find anything about the problem i am having. I have the viperOS installed and the pin and fingerprints works great. Been using lightrom for months so not sure why this has happened. would be great if someone can help me out with this problem. thanks
Still having this issue with not been able to set a pin and not been able to setup my fingerprint scanner. Does anyone know what's up with this. I have viperOS installed and have both pin and fingerprint set. But once I install lightrom I can no longer set any screen lock apart from swipe or no lock. Hope someone can help.
well after a couple of days i have now managed to fix my problem. my /efs must of been corrupted, after looking online i found out no working pin or fingerprint and many other problems can be caused by /efs corruption, also i could ring out but my mobile data was no longer working either. all this because of /efs corrpution. luckly i had my efs backed up. after again installing light rom both my pin and fingerprint and mobile data or now fully working.
For starters, ive been using the same lockscreen pin on ALL of my devices for the past3 years, I know im using the right one. I recently installed the Evolution ROM and set it up with fingerprint and PIN. Fingerprint was working just fine, I rebooted the phone after installing a magisk module and now its telling me the pin for the lockscreen and TWRP is wrong. Again, I only use ONE pin and its telling me its wrong. Tried deleting the locksettings.db file to take off the screen lock and that worked but now phone just stays on "Phone is starting" and TWRP is still excrypted but lets me see all of my files, correct storage amount, and install zips.
When you installed did you format data?
I know this says Lineage, but it works for most custom ROMs, post #2 has the cliff notes version: [Guide]Installing Lineage
As for the locksettings.db, this isn't like older Android devices. You can't just do that, it doesn't fix the problem here.
