Hi, I've bought a brand new Xiaomi Ax3600 router.
I've enabled 160/80/40/20 Mhz 5G network.
How to know if my Oneplus 8 Pro is connected with WiFi 6?
First answer : the router created a 80Mhz 5g network, and a 40Mhz 2G network.
How to force it to create a 160Mhz?

Hi,
I have a UK Desire Z. The spec says the phone is capable of connecting to b/g/n wifi standards. However I am having trouble seeing my N network on the wireless list. Has anyone sucessfully connected thier phone to an N network?
Are you trying to connect to a 2.4hgz network or a 5ghz one?
It should work on the 2,4 but not on the 5 ghz
I have dual-band router and Desire Z does see/connect to 2.4GHz N network. It does not see 5GHz network. But my 5GHz is running in two channel 40MHz mode, didn't have time to check if switching to single channel would allow Z to connect.
Mine connects fine to my home Wi-Fi network, which is 'N' standard. Not sure what speed it is connecting at, or whether it's dropping back to B/G though.
Do you have MAC address security blocking set on your router, and if so have you told it about the phone's MAC address?

This verifies that answer, changing to single channel on 5GHz will not make a difference.
The wifi radio on the DZ is a 2.4GHz radio.
I have a i9505 S4, it does not seem to be able to find the 5gHz network whereas on the iPhone 5, i am able to connect to the 5gHz network. Both 2.4 and 5 gHz network have different SSID names.

Me too, I9500 no issue with this, but I9505 can't search for 5 Ghz wireless network, chg router channel still the same. I 'm using Netgear R6300.
Same issue here
I had i9190 and it was working great. Now I have tried two i9195 and one i9192. Both i9195 only work on 2.4Ghz and do not show 5Ghz bands at all. I9192 could not connect to any network, DOA. All phones had 4.2.2 update so it was not software issue. I guess samsung started to block 5 Ghz band on i9195.
Hey there. I wanna know is it possible to configure the wifi binary to if there was dual band with same ssid. It would connect to 5ghz until it was like -70dbm then it will connect the 2.4ghz. So on short note . prioritize the 5ghz. Thx. I really looking into here. Thx
I just brought a D-link router it does not have any region Setting it only have 36,40,44,48 channels on 5Ghz.
but my xiaomi phones not detecting the 5ghz band in any way. i'v tried all of the channels not any of them working, but i can detect 5ghz band using any WiFi analyzer app.
I haven't used 5ghz before so I thought my router have some problem So i brought an Tp-Link Archer C50 it also don't have any region setting and it have 36,40,44,48,149,153,157,161 channels on 5Ghz but result is same.
Not any of xiaomi detecting any 5Ghz band but all of them working quite good on 2.4Ghz.
My phone is rooted so can i change manually my WiFi region or channels on Redmi note 4 mtk. Using latest stock Global Rom
My oneplus 6t has issue in picking up the 5ghz signal from my router. It always connects to the 2.4ghz band when i go farther from the router but never switch back to 5ghz band. To put it simply, when i go to balcony, the 5ghz signal is very weak and onplus 6t is automatically switching to the 2.4ghz band but when i come back into the living room (where the router is), my 6t doesn't switch back to 5ghz. Hence slow speed and its kinda annoying. Is there any possibility to force my 6t connect only on 5ghz band.
note : my router has the option of disabling the 2.4ghz band but i cant do that because few of the devices are old and only have 2.4ghz band.
On the router you could set up one access point SSID using onky the 2.4 frequency and a separate SSID using only 5 GHz. Connect older devices to the first one and your 6T to the second one. My ASUS router supports this kid of thing; Netgear router I had before would do this also.
I'm not aware of a way on the phone to only use one frequency.
