Got myself in a right mess here -
I'm on the 2nd to latest version of N (NPD56N) and cannot for the life of me get any recovery to work. I've just messed about with the decryption problem, and have flashed a no-force encryption boot.img. The phone boots and works fine, but I can't get any recovery to flash, despite fastboot saying it's worked fine. I did have TWRP installed for a bit, but it only worked once and then I got the red explanation mark of death and depression again. Note, the power+vol up does nothing as it usually does - This is the main issue!
I understand i'll need a new boot.img once upgarded to NPD90G, but that's not the issue right now.
I'm trying to go back to stock everything (I mean, I only rooted to get the damn new Nexus launcher to work properly, which I can't even install)
Basically, i'm trying to get on the latest version of N with root access and a stock recovery if possible.
SOMEONE SAVE ME PLS
Thanks
Edit - Finally fixed. Wiped everything I could and used Skipsofts tool to install 6.0.1 and success. No idea what caused it.
Resolved.
About an hour ago I turned the phone off while it was plugged in to my PC charging. I was on CM14.1 20161208 nightly and whatever the newest opengapps ARM 7.1 mini was at the time of that nightly. After 5-10 minutes I turned the phone back on and ever since then it will boot up and I can do stuff or just let it idle for maybe 15 seconds before it freezes and reboots itself. I never had any problems with it prior to this, other than auto-rotate not wanting to work in some cases.
I have tried battery pulls, dalvik/cache wipes, a reflash of that nightly, a full wipe of everything by SDCARD/USB Storage and install of latest 20161225 nightly and latest opengapps ARM 7.1 mini(tried this 3 times so far). Nothing has fixed it.
It's obviously rooted, did the dev aboot bootloader unlock method last year, is on the bok3 firmware.
Not sure what to do at this point. Is the phone trashed?
ETA: It seems the problem goes away if I do a full wipe and install of my rom, but do not install opengapps. Makes no sense, I had no problems with the phone or opengapps before turning the phone off earlier today.
ETA2: After letting it sit for a while, and configuring some settings, I decided to reboot in to recovery and try the latest opengapps arm 7.1 pico to see if that made any difference. After boot it took about 15 seconds for the phone to freeze. Why am I suddenly not able to run opengapps on my phone at all?
ETA3: Fulled wiped and installed rom again. Worked fine until I google-searched for the play store apk, viewed a thread here, clicked on the apk link, and once it should have started downloading the phone froze and rebooted. Working fine now, but it for whatever reason that download trigged the freeze/reboot. Could really use help with this before I'm forced to go out and buy a new phone before I go back to work on Tuesday.

you are on a Beta, it is expected, if you need stability flash CM13

I didn't think it was the rom since I reflashed a previously working version, tried the latest version, performed several full wipes, etc. I'm fetching the latest 13.0 and will get the latest opengapps mini for it and see if that helps.

Rebooted to recovery, wiped everything but externalsd and usbstorage, installed "cm-13.0-20161013-SNAPSHOT-ZNH5YAO21M-kltevzw.zip" and "open_gapps-arm-6.0-micro-20170121.zip", rebooted, went through preparing apps which I don't think it did on the repeated 14.1 installs earlier, now I'm going through my usual setup and app installs with no freezes. Seems like it was a 14.1 issue.
Thanks GeTex.

I figured
If you don't mind answering one more for me...
I'm on OK3. Is there any path to upgrade to a newer firmware while maintaining unlocked bootloader and root, or is it advised that I stick to OK3 and use only the DEV ABOOT roms like I have been?

My phone ran fine on CM14.1(7.1.1) for at least a month and a half. Not sure why turning the phone off made it stop working with that version. CM13.1 is stable, have you tried that?
Been having the same issues with a 7.1.1 rom Mokee. For the time I've reverted to my S4....
Exact same steps i took. Flashing, wiping, and everything minus external SD.
There is a bootloader update which I did. There is a full update bootloader (I updated and now on PL1) which takes you to Safestrap then back yo TWRP. Others have reported just flashing a PL1 firmware in Odin under AP runs stable.
At this point I'll drop to 6.0 roms, my issues is holding cell service. I can't get any clean flashed rom to give me full data and call service.
I'd like to update firmware/radios if it's possible and won't break my unlock/root and still allow TWRP. Just not sure how to do it properly, starting with my unlocked/rooted BOK3 firmware.
Hi all,
I recently flashed CM13 onto my GRA-UL00 Huawei P8. Everything went fine until I noticed that there was no sound. I've spent about seven hours looking for a fix, and I've come up with nothing. I've noticed that I have no mixer_paths.xml file, and when I attempt to put in a new one, there is still no sound. I've tried a clean CM13 install, wiping everything and starting over, the latest Lineage release for Huawei P8, as well as reverting the ROM and Recovery to stock and running a clean install then. Nothing has worked, and my phone simply has no sound.
There is one other similar thread at the moment, started by Rome7643, who had one reply, from him, which was "Never mind, fixed it", with no explanation as to how or what he did.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could've caused this, and more importantly, how to rectify it?
Thanks.
EDIT: I also JUST noticed that when the sound is enabled (that is, the phone isn't in Vibrate or Silent mode), the phone lags - it takes several seconds for it to register presses on the keypad, the keyboard barely works, sometimes it doesn't register my touch on apps. But if I put the sound back down to Vibrate or Silent, it goes back to work like normal.
For what it's worth, I messaged Rome7643 privately and asked him what he did to fix the issue. I'll post the fix here for posterity, in case someone else has this issue, Googles it, and runs across this thread as well. I want to give all credit for this fix to Rome, as he was the one who figured it out, not me.
Basically, the fix is to download a stock image (so the update.app file), and use the Huawei Update Extractor tool to extract the Image, Recovery, Cust and Boot .img files. Using Fastboot, flash them as you normally would, restart, and start the phone as normal. At this point, the sound is still not back. You now need to put the full update.app file into a folder called dload in the root of an SD card. Then, turn the phone off, and boot into the automatic Huawei updater by holding BOTH the Volume Up and Down buttons as you power on the phone. The phone should automatically begin to do a full, clean, fresh update from the update.app.
Rome said that he had to do this several times before the sound came back, but for me, the sound returned on the first attempt. I then reflashed the Lineage 13 beta build, and I had sound, and I flashed the Cyanogenmod 13 build, and I also retained sound. There is still an issue with the signal indicator, but that's related to the ROMs themselves, and unrelated to the sound issue.
Hi all,
I'm in a tricky position which is completely my fault, but cannot for the life of me get the phone to boot. In short -
1. updated to October security patch no problem, everything booted up fine
2. in an attempt to get rooted with Magisk again, I installed TRWP and *think* i installed to the wrong partition.
3. I can boot into fastboot, and can load TWRP, but as the touch screen isn't working I can't do anything in there.
4. For some reason adb doesn't seem to be detected, that may have been turned off during the update?
So, anybody got any solutions to me installing the OS again with Fastboot and a TWRP that can't be interacted with?
UPDATE - through some combination of luck and sheer determination, I've managed to get the phone to book again. I flashed the Sept boot file which seemed to kick it into gear, then re-flashed the October boot. All seems ok and I can breathe again. As you were.
Best,
After updating my Black Shark 2 SKW-HO to Android 10 my phone was completely Glitched (I updated through OTA Received from Black Shark). So, when I restarted to fix this glitch it got stuck in Boot Animation and turned on after 30mins . After a few days I again restarted but it didn't boot and completely stuck in Boot Animation. I flashed Android 9 MP4 Rom but after flashing my phone it booted up perfectly and then I noticed my Speaker, Mic, Vibrations, RGB didn't work. Bluetooth Headphones gets paired but I can't switch audio to Bluetooth. I Changed from OS00 to OS01 nothing works. Now the Current Build is SKYW2003090OS00MP6. I Flashed Persist.img through TWRP as well still it didn't work. Someone help me I am messed up now.

Bro do you have solution? Please help me to.
Try going to stock android 9, let it update via OTA to latest firmware then do factory reset and setup your device. Do not login your account until you update to latest and do factory reset. Lock bootloader and do not flash TWRP. you probably fcked some partitions if you wiped from twrp. BlackShark didn't posted kernel source code so twrp and any other custom shait does not work properly on BS!
