I am new to OnePlus phones. But is there an app that can control the Horizon Light? Most of my previous phone has a LED indicator light that I use to glance over to know what type of notification is waiting for me. Since the the OnePlus 8 Pro doesn't have that light I like to see if there is an app that I can control Horizon Light?
You will have to Tinker with the app to get it just right but it works very well. Not only does it use the Horizon light but it uses the light around your camera as well. If you decide that you like it buy it or you know....

Hello!
I was wondering, for everyone who currently owns one, is the LED flash on the back quite dim when being used as a flashlight? I had a Z1 for a while and the flashlight usage was really really low. Other flagship smartphones have huge dual flashes on the back which are really good for a powerful flashlight in the dark.
Just wondering if they've improved that aspect at all. Thanks! :good:

I can confirm that LED flash is not too strong comparing to other phones and my last iPhone 5. Maybe due to glass on the back. But I think for camera is fine.
It's not dim but it's not that bright compared to my moto g for example
plenty strong enough for me to see it, but yeah its not as strong as some. i actually like it that way, i can notice it but it doesnt light up the whole room at night...
on the z1c it was a larger led but it didnt look all that much more bright too me (it was a little more noticeable)
It's rather dim - especially if you compare it to the SGS III (my previous) and Galaxy Note III.
I often use LED in the phone as a flaslight and consider it an important feature.
You may find those two links interesting:
1. An app called Power Torch, which allows you to turn off flashlight straight from the lock screen with a long-press of the power button: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=be.ppareit.powertorch
2. LED boost thread - I dind not try it yet, but certainly will try after safe root method will be available: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/mod-torch-boost-led-power-using-z1-t2886705
Hi i was impressed with the nice flashlight of the xperia M4 i was expecting this one has he same but result that the phone has the same Sh... as the others Z Generations.....
I wondering if it possible to boost this phone to get a better flash led experience . Thanks
Yeah, the flash is really bad. Even my Galaxy s3 had double the brightness than z5 but to be in topic then I don't think so. You ain't gonna "overclock" that LED bulb in there
You want a better torch or you think the camera flash is inadequate? The flash only has to be bright enough to complement the camera sensor - anything above that is just a bonus.
I find the Xperia Z1 got great flash. Just enough to avoid over exposure and lit the target correctly and great fairly neutral flash color temperature to keep the scene integrity as high as possible. Though I got the white one and newer revision so no flash light bleed. I assume they fixed flash bleeding with newer Z phones and different colors. Got example photos?
I miss my Galaxy S3's torch.. it really was a ****ing torch guys... my Dad has it now and he only uses it for the time and the torch!
Been a while since I've been able to play with Samsung, are there apps to play with the LED notifications? Can the color flashes be customized? If so what app?

Woah! Ran Light Flow on my Galaxy Nexus, good to see it's still kickin!
Not sure it's working tho... hm
I'm not really happy with how bright the notification LED is and the slow pulse; I often just glance at the phone and miss the notification due to the period that the LED isn't glowing.
Are there any ways without using some sort of LED app to increase the brightness and speed of the notification pulse? Coming from a HTC One M8, I'm used to a really bright pulse "on and off" notification rather than the fade.
The one I've seen recommended most is Light Flow.
Light manager. But the brightness is low also at max level.

Everybody i requested this to the maker of the Dirty Core Kernel @dabug123 and he said he can implement controll over back/recents button's light timing and brightness ... he said that he'll be able to do it ( really respect this guy )
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/development/dirtycore-op5-t3628069/page6
but i didn't mention the LED light , so make sure you ask for it all together and maybe he'll be able to help !

I have tried running few apps but no success the blink speed is so slo-mo it irritates I think there's no way to make it blink faster otherwise they would've done it in the first place!

Yes, I came from a LG G4 and feel the same about this weak led. Not very effective
Has someone already ported the edge lighting of OP7 to the 6t?
And I don't mean an app which is complicated to set up. I just mean the feature within the stock ambient display.
So when a new notification comes in it just lights up within the stock ambient display
