Google is removing user facilities from android one by one

Android 4.1.2 - Not much restriction
Android 4.3 - Access to the flight mode by third party profile switching apps (like profile scheduler +) was blocked.
Android 4.4 onwards - Access to the memory card by third party apps (like app backup and restore, bookmarksb pro, x-plore, es file explorer etc) was also blocked
(I have witnessed the above in Samsung Note 2 N7100)
Then in android 6.0 onwards - Access to the bookmarks of stock browser by third party apps (like bookmarksb pro, ability to import the stock browser bookmarks from android firefox etc) was also blocked.
My problem :
1) I am using Samsung Note 4 SM-910G running unrooted android 6.0.1. I am facing the restriction of android 6.0 as mentioned above. Is there any way to break this limitation (like all the file browsing apps today broke the SD card access restriction in android 4.4 for unrooted phones itself)?.
2) I am using profile scheduler +. I have set profile 1 (full silent without vibrations) and profile 2 (normal ringing profile without vibration).
I have profile 1 to be activated at night and profile 2 at the morning on daily basis under 1 rule. The problem is my phone vibrates for 2 seconds only when switching from profile 2 to profile 1. But the vibration settings are disabled in both the profiles. Does anyone know the reason?.
sdcard was only blocked on 4.4.
on later versions of android it's no longer blocked, but apps need to request permission from the user the first time they try to access the sdcard.
For full sd access in MM...
Working on TW and AOSP...Install apps first then flash..

Ok. But I don't want to flash and brick my 910G phone as my LG G3 D855 got IMEI null just for choosing restore upgrade errors in LG mobile support tool.

App not installed. Package Conflicts

Hello!!
My phone is an S7 Edge with Android 7.0. I am trying to manually install updates from apps included in the stock, like the calendar, messages ... etc. However I can not do it because it gives me this error: " App not installed. The package conflicts cith an existing package by te same name".
Please, can someone help me with this?
Uninstall the app and install the newest. If you have still the problem try install over ADB. Then you can see package name with conflict and uninstall it.
Hi,
You're trying to install two apps with the same package name, in Android data system the apps you install have its data saved in a folder with the format /data/*package name*/, therefore if two apps use the exact same package name and have different signatures (that is, one is not the update of another) you won't be able to install it.
As suggested, try to uninstall the stock apps and then install again manually. However I do not think you'll be able to do it, due to the nature of stock apps being installed in system partition. So for manually installing an stock app you'll first need to uninstall it, and that usually requires superuser privileges.
All the best,

That is the answer I have searched for days. You know APKMIRROR right? I am on unrooted SM-G935F (s7 edge) and I was not able to install any system apps before. But in apkmirror, some people uploaded newer versions of system apps and there was one visible difference: older versions which I cannot install was with android head icon, but newer version had it's own app icon next to the name, and that installed for me. For example s8 launcher (touchwiz home). I always got package error when tried to download versions with android head, and when someone uploaded version with its own icon, it installed. Can you explain this?
And now im waiting for new versions of s8 weather widget because there is no version available with the app icons....
All you need to to to install Touchwiz 9.0 is to encript device, and afterward install will go smoothly (All other experience 9.0 apps can be installed too).(Samsung S6, Android 7.0, December security patch).

Blocked from installing GMSinstaller

Hi all, I have a Mediapad M3 lite 10 (BAH-W09) obtained in China. It's currently running Emui 5.1.3 and Android 7.0 u rooted. Im currently trying to install a Google system on it for work purposes. I've tried using GMSinstaller but the whole apk is blocked. [App may damage your device, installation forbidden]. There is no option in the security menu to prevent checks on apks. I've also tried to manually installing the framework and play services but the play store still asks to install the core GMS packages. Is there a work around for this?

When I switched off and on the external sources/third party app radio buttons, there was an option to "Enable external sources app to scan..." that was enabled by default. I disabled that tick box and it never checked any APK's again.
Hope this works for you.

Unable to Install APKs (Package Invalid)

I recently upgraded to the latest build of Oxygen OS (IN2025_11_F.13) after procrastinating.
I am trying to install quick glance so that I can disable the discover page on my homescreen.
No matter what APK version I try, it gives me an error stating the package appears to be invalid.
The same thing happens when trying to install the older version of oneplus weather with the (in my opinion) better widget and animations.
This also applies to any APK I have tried installing.
Is there any way to install these apps?
Or are there other ways to restore the old version of weather and disable discover?
My device is rooted with Magisk FYI.
Thanks.
