I have a redmi note 7.
I installed Wifi Bonding (Qcom) module from Magisk.
But after installing the module my wifi speed dropped down.
And then my downloads were failing again and again.
I have now uninstalled the module but my wifi speed fluctuates from high to low and sometimes the download fails.
Please help.

Have you delete your wifi network and setup your network new?
Wifi ht40MHz is enabled by default. No nedeed Wifi Bonding magisk module. Remove this module.
I removed the module but my wifi speed got very low.
I tried my wifi speed on other devices and it is fine.
But on my phone it is very low.
Why is this happening?
(And also the module description reads that it modifies "WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini". So is the change restores to default when I remove the module? Is this causing the problem?)
Please help...

for those with wifi 'broken' try to change your router settings to WPA2 personal (TKIP+AES) that seems to work for me now,
other settings 'broke' the wifi
this might be just an issue with must me and my router

the wifi icon keeps flashing a black dot... that means the wifi is NOT working right? it should be just a solid blue bars?
on wifi advanced settings, WPS Pin Entry - what is this and do i need to enter that pin on my router?
still no luck with wifi on my network after flashing back to stock 4.2 from 4.2.1
same 'broken' wifi
might be this phone's wifi hardware is incompatible with wDDRT router?
Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) std
my other wifi devices work perfectly fine, so im really stumped
in phones advance wifi settings it has this WPS entry - what is this and is it somehow not allowing me full wifi?
i can view playstore,, it checks and loads my gMail but it won't connect to websites
it takes so long to download and install apps from playstore, i have to hit cancel, redownload, reinstall to get it working, etc. its not 'instant' like normal 20Mbps wifi should be
ran speedtest.net app and it wont connect to any servers
if anyone has clues to why my wifi is broken, please PM me thanks
it get a blue 3 to 4 bars on wifi signal but it keeps having this 'black' dot flashing in that wifi signal bar, (what is that?)
shows connected to my wifi at 72Mbps at good strength
I found my solution: in my router I unchecked the option WMM (Wi-Fi-multimedia)-settings (2.4GHz b/g/n). After I activated it, my data speeds increased enormously. Try it & report!

Public wifi and my work wifi working perfect with n4. So it definitely my routers wddrt firmware issues with n4... still gottta figure it
Sent from my TC970 (Wi-Fi) using xda app-developers app
My n4 will not connect to any of the WPA2 AP's around here.
I have the opposite problem. I can connect to my WPA2 router at home just fine but cannot connect to the WEP wifi at work. Well, not reliably. I've gotten connected twice, but was unable to recreate the conditions.

I had speed problems with my 5GHz band at home. Connected, but couldn't get over 1Mbps on my 30+ connection. Connected to the 2.4Ghz band and I get significantly faster speeds. Haven't had problems connecting though.

I've noticed similar behavior, seems like my 5ghz signal strength is much weaker than my 2.4ghz signal according to my n4.
So this n4 is picky about. Certain WiFi networks.configs
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Sometimes, my N4 loses wifi connection at work. It's inconsistent. My work wifi is open but MAC filtered.
There have been 3-4 times when I noticed that it lost wifi connection. I had to turn off wifi radio and back on to reconnect.
OTOH, connection to home DD-WRT wifi router is rock solid.
Set lease time for as long as possible, it normally this is 2 weeks..

Hello, I am also having problems with WIFI. I've tried a lot of things (change the router configuration, the cellular exchange kernel, etc ...) but I could not fix this problem. Can you give any more ideas? I've even thought about buying another router but can be giving the same problem.
I used my wife's phone as a router and it works normally, but when I connect directly to the router from home and he trasfere data only for a few moments and then transferring data, although still seem the symbol of wifi connected.
I found changing a setting on the Nexus 4 seems to have remedied most of my WiFi issues. Forcing the WiFi frequency band to 2.4GHz only instead of Auto appears to have done the trick for me.
In WiFi if you select Settings and Advanced under Wi-Fi frequency band there is an option to force 5GHz or 2.4GHz with the default on Auto.

After a few hours of use, my wifi will be connected but doesn't transfer data. If I disconnect or shut down wifi and try to reconnect, it won't work. My data plan then takes over. When I reboot the device, it works again. There seems to be a stability problem with my wifi. I'm running stock 5.1.1 rooted. Is there a way to fix this or is it a wear and tear issue that cannot be fixed? Is there a rom or something else that would improve the wifi performance? I have my wifi set only to 2.4GHz band.
Do you have a dual-band router that is broadcasting a 2.4GHz and 5GHz AP with a similar SSID name but different password?
It's a really specific scenario, but for whatever reason, on the stock Lollipop ROM with those conditions, it'll automatically add the other AP and try connecting to it and fail due to the password mismatch, and then kick you to cellular data. Marshmallow doesn't do this.
No, just one signal. I think my phone is the problem because it happens under other wifi routers.
Hello & many thanks in advance!
For some odd reason my hotspot has stopped all functionality. When trying to enable it from the quick settings menu the Hotspot icon will highlight as if it's activated but is not functioning when searching for that network (ie. hotspot AP). When flicked inside the settings panel one of two things happen: the button for the hotspot is trigger and under it displays "error" or it quickly reverts back to the off position immediately after pressing it.
I would greatly appreciate any and all help as this has been my main use for when I'm at school and want to use a VPN or simply download at much much faster speeds than the provided WiFi (which is very...slow).
Edit1: I'm actually on ElementalX for my kernel.
Edit2: FIXED: Updated the ElementalX Kernel and now hotspot is working perfectly!
thanks

Which carrier are you on? Hotspot is supposed to disconnect Wi-Fi when it first starts. Try manually toggling off Wi-Fi first and then try Hotspot again. No? Enable disable airplane mode and try again. If still not working try posting in the PN forum.
This is a known issue. You need to use custom kernel (ElementalX or Franco).

My carrier is T-Mobile. I've tried both suggestions, toggling off WiFi manually and then turning on the Hotspot- the same error and problem exists. As for the airplane mode I also tried that to no avail, good suggestions however

My apologies for not having included this detail, I am in fact using the ElementalX kernel. I will update the post. However the problem still persists.

Hello everyone,
I have a TA-1039 and I've noticed that the WiFi is not working properly.
Before this update, I use to have a perfect strength and speed from both home and work and now it's a very poor connection.
Do you have this issue with your device? Could you help me how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Try disabling Bluetooth scanning in Location settings. It may interfere with some 2.4G channels.

After updating to Android Oreo 8.1 , Make a backup to your device , just the photos and videos and contacts , then reset your phone and every thing will work properly , i have a Nokia 6 2017 and it works fine after resetting , because i had the same issue which is caused by the update somehow.
I had the same issue
I bought a nokia 5 & 2 weeks later
The wifi connection was dropping everytime even when i was close to the router
I read in other forums by changing the multimode B/g/n in the router fix it
So i put B/g only & the wifi icon bars increased 1+ & doesnt drop anymore
Rate this thread to express how you think the Redmi Note 8's Wifi performs. A higher rating indicates that it has excellent range, throughput, and signal strength. Like when you're taking a dump in the bedroom upstairs, do your videos have to buffer or do they come through without interruption?
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
i have wifi bluetooth interference issue . wifi become super slow when connected to Bluetooth speaker
Using xcloud with Bluetooth adapter and wifi, xcloud is very slow. Using 4G is fine so suspect the same issue with Bluetooth and wifi interference, although on 5GHz wifi.
Me too.
Also WiFi Hotspot is very instable if Bluetooth activated.
Although the bluetooth is disabled, the wifi speed is very slow.
Redmi Note 8 has the worst wifi speed that I have seen in a smartphone ?
Can someone compare the wifi strength with another phone using an app like wifi analyzer? It would be very useful for those who are interested buying this phone like me.
hello;
I share with you the solution of the problem related to wifi (when Bluetooth is activated).
there is a setting to deactivate in the authorizations of the applications which uses Bluetooth (uncheck authorization to cut the wifi by a Bluetooth application (airpods, mi fit .... etc).
the software gives priority to a Bluetooth application instead of wifi, you have to look for this application that uses Bluetooth and go to the settings to deactivate the authorization who cut the wifi / slow down
settings
authorization
other authorization
scroll down to the application who use the bluetooth (airpod, mi fit,........)
uncheck: change wifi connectivity authorization.

the wifi / bluetooth problem is caused by this option in the settings.
bleutooth has priority over wifi; just deactivate in authorizations
therefore, the wifi download speed problem is caused by the software

but does it impact the performance of either the bluetooth or the wifi?
for example, does the bluetooth become unstable instead of the wifi?
I'm 100% sure that the wifi range is worse compared to redmi note 4x. Where the RN4x mido fared without problems, the RN8 ginko loses signal... Miui 11.

Where in the settings is this in? The only menu I can find regarding "Authorization" is "Authorization and revocation" which has essential applications of the phone.

Alrighty thanks. I did that and the WiFi is still just as bad :\
I came here looking for slow wifi speed solution. Now i am pretty sure this phone has some different wifi problem..
I get slow speed. Not always but at random times speed drops very low. Like 2 3 mbps.. i have fiber connection.
Secondly i also agree the bluetooth problem. I also noticed noticiably drop in speed while bluetooth in connected. Its not a problem with other 2ghz devices. U gt 1 2 mbps which is too slow.
I hope some update resolves this.
Whoever is facing please report this bug from the service and feedback app in the phone.i have done.
Just writing here wont solve.

So basically it's MIUI that's having this incompatibility and any other ROM's it's fine?

That just looks like you're connected to 5Ghz WiFi on the Pad. 72Mbps link speed is common for most phones on 2.4Ghz WiFi (without any channel bonding/dual spatial streams/MIMO). And even on 72Mbps link speed you can get around 4MBps data rate easy.
Not good at all, this phone looses signal in places I never had problems before...
