I figured some people might want to see what these devices look like when viewed outside in the sunlight.
You guys can draw your own conclusions. I'll remain silent.

The SGS4 needs to be on auto-brightness to achieve its maximum brightness levels. Setting it to "max" manually results in 34% less brightness than using it in bright light in auto mode. It's kind of odd but here's the reasoning...
OLED displays are generally not as bright as the brightest LCD displays. There are two reasons for this: first, while OLED power efficiency has been steadily improving they are not yet as power efficient as the best LCDs. Second: there is a marketing obsession for producing ultra thin and light weight Smartphones, which sacrifices much needed battery power. Since the display often uses 50 percent or more of the total Smartphone power, various display power management schemes are frequently used. The Galaxy S4 uses one innovative approach to overcome this – when Automatic Brightness is turned on, the Peak Brightness becomes significantly brighter in high ambient lighting than is possible with Manual Brightness, up to as high as 475 cd/m2, which is 34 percent higher than is possible with Manual Brightness. This is done so that users can’t permanently set the brightness to very high values, which would run down the battery quickly.http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_S4_ShootOut_1.htm
^This is the kind of productive information that allows for better videos.
I will rerun it as I did verify that the GS4 is dimmer under the conditions explained above.
My Note 2 is running CM10.1 so this could be causing different results. It does not behave in the same manner. Auto brightness = 100% manual brightness.
EDIT: I swore I could replicate this under a fluorescent soft box before, but now I can't. Really want to try this out, and it's dark now.

It's new on the SGS4. Here's another "feature" that impacts max brightness. Auto Tone caps max brightness at 375 cd/m2. Adapt Display also affects brightness but it's not linear so the impact is hard to measure. Between these three settings all the reviews have been screwed up in terms of brightness evaluation with wide swings in their results because the reviewers didn't know their impact.
The Samsung Galaxy S4's Full HD SuperAMOLED screen is the best AMOLED display we've seen on a smartphone. However if you're noticing subpar brightness some of the time, there's an option in "Display settings" you might want to take a look at. By default, the Galaxy S4 and many other Samsung devices ship with "Auto adjust display tone" turned on. You can find it under Settings > My device > Display > More settings. When enabled, it tweaks the display brightness based on the on-screen image to avoid burning through an excessive amount of juice. Most of the time you might not notice this, but there's an easy way to see its effects. When there's a lot of white space on-screen, "Auto adjust screen tone" will dim the display slightly to save power. The effect is subtle, but jump between a website like Google in the web browser and your home screen and you'll probably notice that after a split second the page is dimmed slightly. That's good if you want to save power, bad if you want to take full advantage of that big, bright screen. So if you favor battery life, you can leave it turned on - after all, it's designed to save power. But to get the brightest possible image on your Galaxy S4, you may well want to turn this setting off.Samsung Adapt Display: The Galaxy S4 "learns" what you are viewing and adjusts the display's brightness accordingly. If the phone senses you are reading an article, for example, it will illuminate from a more muted brightness.
I do believe that I mentioned the auto tone was disabled in which it was.
Under the notes it'll be edited to reflect this information and a link to the test WITH the GS4 in auto mode. Heck the next one will have all of them in auto.
The LG Optimus G Pro is similar to the iPhone in the sense that the manual brightness level impacts the max auto brightness level.

We'll see if Anandtech eventually releases a review of the phone. Nothing, and absolutely nothing beats the depth of reviews on Anandtech. And I also don't get you coming to this forum specifically to look for posts saying your phone isn't as good in this or that feature etc etc. An OPINION was provided on Android Central, fact based on actual measurements are missing for both sides, so everyone just chill out.

You don't read what is written? If I, say, set brightness level on HTC One to 10% and at the same time set G Pro to 100% and then compare them under the sun saying "See, HTC One just doesn't stand up to greatest G pro cause it's dim" would you remain silent? Or you go "Stop, but One is only set to 10%, how do you compare them so wrong?" I think the second
Yes, antiglare coating on G Pro is too bad but in the case of video testing it doesn't matter , sun doesn't reflect from this particular angle of view in the video

Stop this childish playground attitude. People can post wherever they like, you do not own this space.
This guy has every right to post here especially if it is a comparison thread, and for the sakes of balance we need challenging input....regardless of whether he/she posts things that are subjective/objective.
This is what I posted on the other thread:
If I wanted to cheat on purpose... I don't think I would have pulled the notification bars down. I did so to check however it was very bright and the G Pro was the furthest away from me. No one probably understands how awkward it is to mount a camera while staying out of view of the frame (the camera is pointing straight down), and attempt to do this at your apartment.
It was also noted in earlier in the thread that the GS4 NEEDS to be in auto mode to achieve full brightness. I've left in the notes that this video has issues. It will most likely be pulled when the new one is made.
You know why it was set at 76%? It's because the LG Optimus G Pro is the most sensitive out of the bunch and by accident it was lowered. I already stated I'm no expert.
Feel free to call be stupid, but the LG Optimus G Pro is actually my daily use phone. So I would love for it to win everything.
It's called I was sweating my balls off and did it unintentionally.
Either way you still watched my video and it was still monetized for the people who want to act like an ass. I state that I'm not an expert, and I ask for input.
I would have redone it yesterday, but it wasn't very sunny out.

I've used the LG displays and they are no where near as good as the HTC One display. Review sites can say whatever they like, they are mostly biased and or paid anyway, so it doesn't count. I've used and owned almost all the top spec android phones out in the last 3 years, and size withstanding, for quality and brightness, nothing beats the One screen. Nothing.

It's great that you spend your own time producing videos that show how devices perform in the "real world" which objective reviews don't often do. AnandTech and GSMArena have posted corrections at times so testing isn't always perfect. People that only want their device to "win" will only be satisfied if it does and will diss you otherwise. Don't let it get you down.

Yeah, we noticed, but it's really not an issue to raise a rant. And nevertheless I think the sensitivity of touchscreen in G Pro is very good compared to older phones.
Well I might need some help. Could you compare your devices on the point of colors reproduction? Read this topic I can't prove them that G Pro has not got perfect display. Could you compare your HTC One with G Pro and tell is G Pro better or HTC One is better and more accurately calibrated? And not at 100% brightness level of course but at daily office 50% brightness setting
I have heard that le pro 3 has some display issue.... First of all the screen mute Ness the screen colour accuracy is not true to life and cold colours and second of all the touch latency it's something to notice I think that is it's EUI's fault.
Please some clarity my doubts
Depends partly on rom
Hello, I have not read before about general display / touchscreen issues, but I have used 3 custom roms (and of course stock) in my time with this phone yet and can say that there is a noticeable difference in how it reacts depending on what the developer worked out. That said, I have to stress that every part of this phone so far feels and works as you would expect from a state of the art phone. Alright, beside the camera, that's close to crappy , but the rest is great. My comparison "group" so far is LG G4, Samsung S7 edge (yeah, that screen image quality is unbeaten, but it's all very close i would say) and Sony Xperia and the Leeco Pro 3 with for example Turbo Rom is snappier than all of them. There is definitly no lag or something like that.
Looking just at image quality, I mean, there are ways to adjust color and brightness, so you can set up what you like - I didnt look for color settings since it looks "normal" andbrightness is on auto adjust, it's always, even in direct sunlight, perfectly readable. A resolution beyond full hd in 5,5 inches is imo useless if your not going for VR stuff - so really, if you are looking for weaknesses on that phone, it's not the screen. Yes, I became a bit of a fanboy from using it .

Using custom official ROM like Lineage OS will fix the display latency/response time and colour mute Ness....?? Colours are not accurate on EUI
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "colors are not accurate" - as said, there are several possibilities of adjusting colors to your liking (there are apps for everything , some custom roms already include automatic night modes with less blue in it etc.
Regarding input lag, there simply is none whatsoever, this phone reacts blazing fast. I experienced some misinterpreted swipes taken as clicks in the first official lineage build, but that has been fixed with yesterday's update.
Despite the lower average camera, this phone is really good.

Actually it's camera is good it's software optimisation is really bad it has the same Sony imx 298 sensor which OnePlus 3t,mi5 and LG V20 has (excluding OIS) pictures from the rare camera should be great...
And one more thing is that though the camera take good shot you will not be able to enjoy it on the screen of the phone as it's mute colours....Just do one thing pull out the images from your mobile and copy it to computer and see it.
I debt you will see the difference between it colours with be more saturated and pops out that in phone
I heard the same thing from others in this forum - both the "sensor is same as xy, should be great" and "the pictures suck, no matter which camera app". All my pictures go to my pc via Onedrive and they are definitely worse than those of my previous Lg G4 or the oneplus 3t which my cousin took currently on a US visit and sent pics from or those my wife's xperia x compact takes. But it doesn't mean they are horrible. Just not "premium". And I don't care if it's hardware or software.
Back to the screen, I saw a friend of mine today owning a galaxy s7 edge. And yes, that screen is better. Although you can't count pixels on either display, I can see that that just by looking at it. But the difference is not that big, definitely a lot smaller than, just as an example, the pictures of the darn camera .
One question for me: What's your "point"? Do you have the phone and experience display issues? I would say that your either oversensitive or your device is flawed. Do you think about buying it and are worried about the screen? Then I would say don't worry.
Which is it?
Actually I'm going to buy it....saw some of the review on YouTube(Android Authority &pocketnow daily)they stated that its display is having a problem as it's colours is not punchier and vivid.So.....I created a Xda thread so that I can talk to people who own the device in real life day-to-day experience

Good choice . I think the criticism of "unpunchy" colors is just as common with LCD - Displays as criticism of too punchy colors on amoled.
I mean, buying this phone almost forces you to dig into TWRP and custom roms... So it's nothing for, e. g., my wife . But since you are here already, I bet you will be happy with it. In retrospect I could have saved a few bucks by not choosing the 6 / 64 GB Version - I use the second sim slot for a data only LTE 3 gb card for monthly 7 € and now stream everything. 54 gb free space ^^ and ram always more than 3 gb free...
ZTE axon 7 is also a competitive phone compared to le pro3.... The only problem with ZTE axon 7 is it's camera it preform really poorly is low light, but in good lighting it performs really well

It certainly is, had it on my list for quite some time as well. And I bet 50 bucks that the camera beats leecos in every condition . But my main focus was battery life and, coming from the LG G4, I found it nonsense to go for more than Full HD on devices smaller than 7 inches - on 5,5, even fhd is far beyond "retina" and since I won't strap the phone to my face VR style, it's just wasted energy pushing the extra pixels.
Add the smaller battery, the (slightly) older soc, less ram and all of that for about 70 € more (64gb versions), made it easy for me.
One thing to say leeco's design language is very impressive and glossy
Any news when le pro3 is getting nougat update... Where as ZTE axon 7 and OnePlus 3T already got 7.1.1 update
Hey XDA,
I've had the smaller Pixel 4 since Google handed out review units at the Made by Google 2019 launch event in New York last week. I plan on spending a few more days with it before writing up a full review, but if you have any questions about the device feel free to ask and I'll try to answer to the best of my ability.
I have the 64GB white Pixel 4. I'm using it on T-Mobile in the U.S.
Does TWRP for the pixel 3 work on it?
But really, is battery life atrocious? I use my phone for work and i'm consistantly on it. Currently on pixel 2 regular with stripped out OS and I still have to charge it about halfway through the day
Thanks for taking some of your free time to do this, Mishaal.
I've ordered the same exact phone you've been using for a week or so now. I'm very excited to own another Pixel device again. I have just a few quick questions about the phone:
In your experience, how long does the battery last after a typical weekday/workday?
Can you comment on screen legibility outside during a sunny day? Will I yearning for a High Brightness Mode enabled kernel in the future?
Any other quirky behaviors with network or bluetooth connectivity? I've found that my LG G7 very much dislikes certain bands of the 5 GHz spectrum. Additionally, it seems to get less cell signal strength when compared to other devices in the same location.
How is the speaker quality? If you have any experience with the Nexus 6, how does the speaker quality of the Pixel 4 compare to the Nexus 6? If you have any experience with the Pixel 3, how does it compare with the Pixel 3?
Do you have a photometer? If so, can you measure the brightness of the infrared light that is frontward facing and tell us whether it's on 24/7? I'm guessing it is for the face unlock and also the hand waiving movements. It'd be interesting to know how powerful that is since our eyes can't see it, but could still be harmed by it (if powerful enough)... which I doubt Google would do, but you never know.
If you have a photometer, could you tell us the intensity of the LED light on the back for flashlight mode?
Thank you.

Battery life is as bad as we all expected =\
3 hours SoT for heavy usage (Google Maps navigation + music streaming + Google Camera + light gaming in COD Mobile)...
to up to 5 hours SoT for light usage (social media like Reddit, web browsing in Chrome, local music playback in Google Play Music, etc.)
This is NOT a phone you can take on vacation and expect to last you a full day. You will definitely need a charger or power bank handy.
(Note: I tested with all the standard/advertised features enabled, including AOD, Now Playing, Motion Sense, 90Hz, Adaptive Brightness etc. I also have really good signal in my area so that's not a problem)
---
Brightness is too damn low outside! I live in sunny Texas and struggle to see the screen outside. Not sure if HBM exists on this phone since it uses an LG panel.
---
No issues yet with connectivity. Haven't used it long enough to come across said issues, though.

@MishaalRahman You mention SOT heavy use and light use. How about just walking around browsing now and again, pictures when the mood strikes, and a phone call and text now and again? Not that concerned about SOT more like daily use. Will it last a full day?
Also there has been some question about the biometric regarding bank and app authorizations from fingerprint to face unlock. Does face unlock work for banking?
TIA

If you describe yourself as a light user, then it should last you a full day. However, poor signal and high brightness for extended periods could easily cause you to run for the charger. It can last a full day, but I wouldn't plan on it reliably lasting a full day unless you really know your routine.
About face unlock app support: Support is very, very limited right now. Only a few password manager apps and Tasker support it. I don't believe any banking apps do. It will take some time for apps to get on board. Not that it's difficult for them to do so.

Can we expect to see any support for facial mocap applications on the Pixel 4?

The youtube reviews state the outdoor brightness is insufficient due to the 90hz display. if you switch it to 60hz, do you get more brightness out of the display to make it sufficient for outdoor use?

The refresh rate of the panel shouldn't effect the brightness at all. I asked about screen brightness on the previous page, but apparently the brightness in the sun is disappointing. Additionally, because it's an LG panel, there may be no way to boost the brightness in the sun with a custom kernel like you could in the past with HBM on Samsung OLED panels.
Storage question

Dylan Raga believes there may still be a HBM toggle since he found one on the Pixel 3 (and that had an LG panel).

It's still too early to say...but forcing 90Hz all the time I'm getting I think...20% more battery life than my 24 months old Pixel 2.
My pixel 2 was factory reset a month ago.
And this is vs my Pixel 4 on the first evening , night (sleeping) and morning+afternoon
I still got 10-11% drain overnight. So I haven't started to check what's draining...if Motion Sense, some system service etc.

How would you compare the smaller Pixel 4's battery life against Pixel 3XL ? (I would compare to the 3XL because it's the one with worse battery life for last year's models, I own both 3 and 3XL)
Maybe both the SOT and typical Standby Time + your regular bahaviors on smartphone.
Thanks in advance man, I am really considering the smaller one this year.

I would say an average SoT of 4 hours with Motion Sense + AOD + Now Playing + Ambient Brightness is possible, with enough standby time to get you through a full day. But that 4 hours of SoT is NOT heavy usage - I would say a few pics + music + social media. It gets harder to last the full day if you add GPS navigation and gaming into the mix.

Sadly, it will take some time for TWRP to support the Pixel 4 due to the partition changes in Android 10. That means rooting will require patching the boot image of each release manually and fastboot flashing it. We can do a tutorial, though I'm kind of short on time personally. I'm sure plenty of forum users will have such threads up.
I need a replacement phone. the A1 has been good but the battery life is now no good. Also, the screen brightness is very low. I am not complaining it has a been a good phone.
I would like a new Android one phone. The A3 would have been good for the 720 screen is a let down. Two questions:
Can anyone recommend a good Android One phone?
Has anyone made the change to Redmi phone after Android One. Is the redmi UI okay to live with or is it a pain?
I would go for a Mi 9T or the Oneplus 7T. Without a budget it's kinda hard to help you out.
The MIUI seems ok for me although I prefer stock Android. I don't know Redmi UI.
Also, I've read that the A3 screen it's not a big let down for those who came from the Mi A1 - also, it's brighter.
I'm thinking about buying the Mi A3, it's just a little bit better than the Mi A1 (but I don't care, never experienced any lag in any app), and it should have almost twice battery time, charge twice faster, more photo capabilities, more system updates (soon android one 10), and it's cheap !
My next phone needs to be 5G ready it will either be the A3 (version 2) or more likely the A4 next year.

Thanks, I have no real budget but I am loath to spend more than about the price of an MI A3 or similar ($250 US) on something I know I will ditch in about 18 months because the battery life diminishes or I break it of lost or whatever.
I saw the MI9T but I can't justify the price and the gimick selfie camera goes against what I look for. I don't want something that has a motor that can break, or get jammed. But that did lead me to the Mi 9 Lite which is about the right pricepoint and ticks most of the boxes I need. It also has the bonus of being able to accept and A/B slot rom if something stable arrives to load on it. So thanks for the tip.
The other phone I saw was the Redmi Note 8 and that looked okay, but seems to only have BT4.2, will be a little more battery hungry with the IPS screen. It also lacks the NFC option. But I still might get it.
If anyone has knowledge of some decent phones in the price range with decent camera and battery that will accept an AOSP or similar Rom and is likely to get a quality ROM soonish, please let me know your thoughts.
I replaced the battery and it is working well after that. I think my A1 will last me another year or 2.

That is good to know, but my screen is also starting to fail. It's maximum brightness has diminished to a point where I cannot see the screen outside. Also the screen has taken on a very warm hue.
If it was just the battery, I would probably do the same as you, but unfortunately, it will just be more simple to get a new phone.

Regarding the warm hue, you have confirmed you did not turn on Night Light ya? Night light reduces the blue light and it is more pleasant to the eyes.
And regarding brightness, I saw a comment in the thread below mentioning that between Oreo and Pie, somehow Oreo has a better max brightness than Pie.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/review/outdoor-visibility-max-brightness-t3679694
I did not try downgrading it to Oreo myself but I also remember the brightness issue I encountered after a certain upgrade.
I used to set brightness at about 30% but after that certain upgrade, I had to now crank it up to 70% at the brightness slider while using the phone indoor.
My wifes mi a3 arrived yesterday and I must say for the money it's a little beauty. Feels solid. 720p doesn't really matter and does not bother.
Phone is fast enough for daily usage and gaming. Battery life is great. The camera makes good photos too.
Not bad for 140 bucks !

Thanks for the insights and thoughts. I did consider the Night Light but that is confirmed switched off. I went out and had a look at a few phones last night but I really didn't see anything stand out that made me want it.
I might try an AOSP ROM on the A1 to see if that helps screen. Maybe that can get me through until the next round of phones come out.
Try replacing the BN31 battery. ~$10 only

I'm using my MiA1 since September 14, 2017. The battery's BN31. My MiA1's battery capacity (true) is still ~2800mAh, 90% of promised/original. I've been using 5-85% charging/discharging or better 10-80%, always charging with back-cover up and radiating in Fan/ A/C air to keep temperature < 40 dC.
The Battery BN31 IS REPLACABLE. You can get on Amazon/ Alibaba/ Flipcart/ many more. The price is ~$10.00.
I'm using Android 8.1.0 (Most Stable) un-updated since November 2018 when the choice was to Update to Android 9.0 (and probably get ruined) or REJECT Android 9.
For the last 1 year I faced NO problems. No Need for so called endless Security Updates etc (which is a racket to keep you on tenterhooks).
In fact, my MiA1 is better than NEW, except for some scratches.
I expect it'll be Good Enough for the next TWO YEARS!!
If at all, I'll get a New Phone (Top Range) as an additional one.
Well I am honestly shocked by this. I sort of expected the S20 Ultra not to meet my standards but not the Note 20 Ultra! Decided to stick with my Note 10+ for a bit until maybe Z Fold 2 or Note 20 Ultra drops in price or for another who knows how long.
Anyways thought I would share with you guys why I decided to stick with Note 10+ over the Note 20 Ultra.
First off the Note 20 Ultra is nowhere near a bad phone, much of an improvement over the S20 Ultra which I thought was junk. The main highlights of the device just didn't seem worth $1300+ to me.
Screen overall is literally just a hair bigger and actually a hair less vibrant and saturated then the Note 10.
Screen refresh rate still not sure why this is such a huge deal. Can you tell a difference? Yes slightly depending on what you are doing. Sort of like 4k on a tablet or small laptop really just not worth it imo
Cameras, oh yes the cameras. Glad to see the autofocus issue was fixed from the S20 Ultra and photos are great no matter what camera but the main sensor unless you are using the 108 mp for extreme detail and then you lose HDR look very similar to the Note 10. Only huge difference is the zoom lens on the Ultra and it is a big one. 5x zoom looks great and even 10x in most cases looks very good and usable. This is the only thing that made me actually want to keep the 20
Everything else is pretty much the same again as Note 10+ nothing else worth mentioning really
Few photos of the differences in whites and camera bumps and the pretty much same screens

I still love my note 10 even after sending the ultra back. No regrets besides Samsung still hasn't issued me credit! Says they didn't receive phone smh
ok boomer
If i had the 512gb note 10 plus instead of 256 I may not have got the note 20 ultra either (did get 512gb on it) since i just basically needed the extra storage.
Note 10 plus is such a great device honestly and the 20 may have some advantages but its by no means a huge upgrade. More like a baby step upgrade lol.
You're also forgetting the 80% less latency time with the pen. So for me, that with huge camera improvements and 120hz refresh was a no brainer for me trading in my S10+. I notice the 120hz. It's a pretty big difference compared to 60hz Samsung panels.
Its not just the refresh rate increased but the touch response rate was increased a lot too. Samsung's touch response in on their 60hz displays just always seemed laggy to me.
On a side note the haptics are the best I have ever felt in a Samsung phone. On par with some of the best. I also love matte/frosted back phones too. Feels so good in the hand.
You are right about the vivid color saturation. I noticed that being a less too. I actually wrote an entire thread about it here. Now that I have the phone manually adjusting it 1 notch cooler in display settings and keeping manual brightness around 85-90% has resolved that for me.
So do you plan to wait for the Note 30? Or likely to get something else before that?
I understand why he's returning it. So far, I'm underwhelmed this year. And I've had a note every single year they made one.

Agree with your overall assessment, Samsung should have offered more colors in 512GB as that would have encouraged some Aura Glow users to bite for the upgrade. Can't believe no eSIM support(yet) either on the US model

Touch response should be the same as last year right? It was an improvement over s10 but note 10 I think.
I've never had a laggy flagship but I also disable a lot of stuff and have an unlocked unbranded one so that might help as well
I will give you haptics they felt very good, not that the other devices Samsung makes are bad it felt like an upgrade for sure. $1300 one though no lol
Screen color is weird not sure what's going on there and maybe I will get a fold 2 or keep waiting who knows

Yeah I don't understand why the regular model went down from 256gb to 128gb. That makes no sense to me either and why can't I get a red one like India or wherever. They need to have more options in storage and colors.

I'm super concerned about this battery bit right off the bad. Getting worse results than my 1 year note 10+ that hadn't been factory reset in a long time. It appears the cpu never sleeps cores and 5g chews through a lot at the same time. So if I want the same battery life as my 10+ I have to shut off 5g and lock resolution to 60hz middle setting. After that, it might as well be a note 10 with a battery mod.

Nope its 240hz. Direct quote from GSM Arena review....
"This one comes with 240Hz touch sampling too for speedier detection of touch input."
https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note20_ultra_5g-review-2149p3.php
I believe all 60hz display Samsung phones were 120hz touch sampling before. Either way they were less than 240hz before.
But yeah the color profile is really the only issue I have with his phone. Although its not bad enough for me to return it. Especially since I love everything else so far.
If I keep it at 90% manual brightness, on vivid, with the color temp scale 1 notch cooler its improved. But its still not quite as good color profile as the One Plus 8 Pro I also have. Still good enough for now while I hope they put out a software update to tweak the color calibration of the vivid display mode.

Yeah so it looks like s20 and note 10 are 120hz so pretty decent so incremental improvement there each year. How's your battery life been? I can't say much as the couple days I used it didn't seem great but that doesn't mean anything. My note 10 is on its 14 hour and still at 44% battery left!! Don't think the note 20 would be able to top that

I can't say for sure yet. But it seems good. Well into the good category for me. Certainly not excellent, but good.
Keeping it 90% brightness, haptics on, FHD @ 120hz adaptive, light theme, and my first full day today I got about 6.25 hours of SOT over course of about 16 hours.
I didn't take a screen shot, but plan to do more accurate monitoring over next couple days since I been so busy setting it up and exploring settings.
I got 7 hours of screen on time. That's pretty impressive! I was upset with battery life but today was awesome.
120 Hz
Mix of wifi and mobile data
Lots of pictures
Couple hours of YouTube
Auto brightness
Always on display on always show
Light theme on system, some apps dark themed
Normal day, honestly - so 7 hours was excellent!
Ok good that seems pretty good then!!
heres mine from 95% to 1%
Yes the color profile is awful. I need to trade in my note 8 which looks much more sharp and vivid.
So after speaking to Samsung and their sub repair shop. I have heard the following.
The display may have different tint because of the new gorilla glass, also there's a built in blue light filter to protect user eyes beside the one that u can toggle and last most of these emoled displays developing ghosting effect after long period of usage at hight brightness. Something that Samsung probably considering as it will be costly to start changing them for people who complains.
I have replaced twice on edge 7 and s8 phones.
cool story bro. I'm keeping my new phone.
Got my N20U 3 days ago, coming from a Mate 10 Pro. What a disappointment the Exynos version of this phone is.
Doing basic tasks like writing this very comment while a YouTube video is playing in the background heats the device up so much that I want to put it down again. The performance is fine if you set your screen to 120Hz, but that also drains your battery faster than anything else (and heats it up even more, yay!). 3h of SOT is a ****ing joke. Sure the S-Pen is responsive, the screen is nice, the device is snappy and rarely has any problems with things you throw at it, One UI is One UI, but is it worth the money? Absolutely not. Especially not if you have a Note 10+ or similar.
Don't even get me started on the camera. Capturing something at 4x zoom looks like a Van Gogh painting.
Second and last time I'm trying Samsung. Stay away from Exynos if you can.
I am between 2 and 3 hours of screen-on time and battery is at 70%. This is getting better by the day! Snapdragon here, but it was not nearly this good initially. Got over 7 hours of screen on time yesterday and today is looking to beat that!
My battery life has been pretty solid. I had the s20 ultra and the battery life on that was a hair better I think. In between these two phones I had the OnePlus 8 pro and the battery life on that was atrocious for some reason. So it has been a breath of fresh air to get great battery life again, lol.
My only gripe is no esim/nano dual sim. That was the main reason why I switched from Note 10+ after being told those features were present in the US model.
