Hi everyone.
I come to you because I have a big problem with my oneplus 8 pro bought a month ago in France.
I wanted to install a tempered glass screen protector, for curved corners.
I wanted to install one, with glue and UV lamp, like that of whitestone and its domeglass.
In short I protected the top speaker, as shown, but during installation, the tape or the protection of the top speaker was removed a little. Result of the glue is put in the high speaker which is now very hard. It is in the small holes of the speaker, and at my level it is no longer possible to remove deteriorate more the speaker than what I have already done.
The sound is therefore very weak, for the top speaker and especially during calls I hear almost nothing.
So I'm looking for a solution to try to get it fixed even if I have to put my hand in the wallet for the stupidity that I did.
At the warranty level, this being due to deterioration on my part, the warranty will not work.
At oneplus level, do you know the method for a repair or something like that?
Finally if someone has a solution, because I did not take breakage guarantee or other.
I do not see any possibility of reimbursement or other with credit card insurance or other ..
Anyway, I'm really really disgusted. And if someone can try to direct me towards a solution I am interested.
Thank you friends.
Not sure but... If you don't have much to lose at this point anyway... What about you slightly pierce each of the small holes of the top speaker with a hot needle? It might go through the glue and re-create a new hole for the sound. Cannot guarantee it would work as I've never tried anything like that myself...

Well iam not sure about if thats smart. You would beed to know exatly how deep to pierce. Too deep will damage speaker. Now only the grill is glued shut
I have been trying to do it but it is so hard that I will have damaged the speaker. I opened a repair request at oneplus .. you think they can carry out this repair, ie change the loudspeaker? do you think this is expensive?

Bro forget all the other solutions, get yourself rubbing alcohol or 90% grain alcohol and let it clean up that glue. Don't try too hard to peirce anything.

it is between the protective grids and difficult to access. I tried a little alcohol. cleaning wipes etc ... but that doesn't matter. I am really disgusted.

Well I don't know the material that is in the speaker grill but put high percentage alcohol 70+% and let it soak in

Damn sorry to hear! Btw I love france! I have good friends there and only have positive things to say about your country. It also has good McDo!
I had same problem lately. Took lots of wiping , peeling etc to get it all off. I also got a small pin to try and get some of the glue out of the holes
Try to use toothbrush with adhesive remover (Goof Off) like one I attached (be careful do not use strong remover for super glue it could cause some damage for plastic part or paint)
I also did this. I used isopropyl alcohol and I cut a bristle off of a wire brush, this was the only thing I found that went through the grill the holes are so small. I managed to poke the UV glue through the grill eventually and the sound became clear again. It's not easy at all to clean because the holes in the grill are so tiny.

Thank you for your advice. But nothing seems to loosen the glue from the loudspeaker grille from the top. I even tried it with 90% alcohol and a fine needle. Nothing changes. I will not continue because I will end up scratching the oneplus or decorating the screen.
Do you think that Oneplus can by a repair change the grille of the top speaker?
Have you already repaired one of your Oneplus at home?
This is what they charge for out-of-service repairs in the UK. From here the device goes to Poland and comes back with UPS.
I would request the replacement as it's quite inexpensive and while might be doable in home, you could easily puncture the waterproof mesh behind the metal grille and it doesn't worth it.
Once you requested the RMA and it got approved and you have the shipping label, make sure to schedule a pickup on Monday, to get the device back on the same week.
You'll get an email from the service centre about a quote which will likely be around £25-30 worth of euros and you'll need to pay it first.
Hi everyone. So to return to my problem. I stopped all the manipulations to try to make the glue disappear.
I launched a repair request on the oneplus.fr site. I then contacted Oneplus France customer service.
My repair request has been validated, and a UPS transporter comes to collect my oneplus 8 pro tomorrow, to send it to the repair shop in the Netherlands. I should collect my phone within 10 to 12 days.
We will go to the result as we say.
I actually saw the price of the repairs. I tell myself that changing the grille of a speaker should cost less than a mainboard or a screen.

Hi to all who have dust between the touch screen digitizer and LCD.
I send my device 3 times to the authorised HTC service center because of this problem, they cleaned it (not perfectly) and the dust was back again after few days of use. This was really ennoying for me...
After several disassemblies, cleaning, research where dust comes in, then assembles I found the flaw.
The dust doesn’t come in via sealing foam between the touch screen digitizer and LCD.
There is a bump defect of phone housing around the volume keys. Inside of the plastic housing is a metal frame, where the touch screen digitizer is stacked on - that frame is a little bended and the touch screen doesn’t stick properly on it (around the volume keys only). When you look close on the phone you can see also a little wider gap between the touch screen top glass and silver plastic housing edge. (See picture)
WARNING
The following directions WILL VOID
your warranty - you are performing
this repair at your own risk.
So, now, what you have to do:
For those, who have already dust in, just simply disassembly your device (if you are brave enough, have all tools and precise hands - maybe some experience ) and remove PROPERLY all dirt with brush, compressed air and antistatic cloth, then assemble it back or send the device to the service center to clean it (wont void the warranty). Before sealing your TD2 (keep it in plastic bag away from dust) prepare a sharp wooden toothpick, neutral transparent or black silicone (you can purchase it from any building material shop) and cotton cloth.
Now you have to clean the gap between whole plastic silver housing frame and touch screen top glass with soft brush. Then use sharp wooden toothpick to impress the silicone into the gap (all gaps you can see, just in case) (silicone does not damage phone housing and TSCR surface and it’s easy to clean), then just gently and properly wipe off all the rest of silicone from phone surface. (be careful not to get silicone to the keys or phone receiver slot)
Leave the phone for several hours to get silicone dry.
Then you can use your TD2 in dusty environment and your display stays absolutely clean and dusty free. (TESTED on mine, for me perfect phone now and I am very happy with it...)
For those who have a little dust in and want to stop come more in and those who are planning to buy TD2 (dont wanna play the lottery faulty or not ), do the same procedure (silicone impress only) after unwrapping your device from plastic package.
GOOD LUCK!!! ENJOY YOUR ABSOLUTELY DUSTY FREE DEVICE!!!
Sorry for my English
I don't know about you guys, but I'm not crazy enough to void the warranty of my phone because of a minor thing like that. When mine gets dirty, I send it back and that's it.
If it gets dirty again, I send it back again...
But, it's a good tutorial for the "brave ones" anyway Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
HastaSSSS
I sent mine back over a week ago due to this dust problem (in fact I delivered it in person to HTC repair center in Milton Keynes) hoping for a quick turnaround.
I'm still waiting for it to come back and missing it terribly. I'm back to using my old Nokia E71 which is a great phone but I like my new one and want it back so I may go down the route of the OP just so I don't have to repeat the return each time I get a dust issue.....

but hopefully you can input your expertise into this thread or help form an opinion for a new thread
I just got a topaz and want to keep dust from getting in but I'm confused about the sillicon. Could you describe more clearly what it is and maybe post a picture so I have some idea what it should look like.
from the picture, for the second gap, apply the protective foil that comes with the phone. Should solve a bit the problem. Ber in mind that after apply, the touchscreen will not have the same sensitivity. You'll have to tap a little bit harder ...
i think you meant screen protector no?
anyway thx for the info,
if anyone knows how to disassemble this device pls help
yes, screen protector. Better not use the screwdriver ... remember warranty ...
I thought these dust under the screen issues had been fixed long ago, but now it seems the problem that affected my old c600 has come back to ruin my topaz after just 1 week.
Not impressed.

I already use a screen protector. I'm more concerned about the first gap. I really don't want dust to happen since I bought my phone second hand and it doesn't have a warrenty.
you can always use a can of pressurized air to get the dust out. (same you use with PCs)
Wouldn't you need two holes that are connected if your blowing air into the device? One for the air to go in and one for the dust to go out? I don't have any dust under my screen currently and would like it to remain that way. The silicon method doesn't seem to difficult or dangerous which is why I'm interested in what silicon to use.
from what I understood (from the pictures in the 1st post), it's not actually a hole, but a free space = gap.
I opened the D2 (only the two upper screws - for lifting the inner part a bit) and did have a look for "gaps" somewhere around the volume controls - i did not really see a gap
But for getting out the dust: dont blow air into the D2 but get the air out - i actually used a vacuum-cleaner. If you remove the two screws it is possible to lift the LCD below the volume sliders *A LITTLE BIT* (=about 0,5 mm only!!!!!) with a small screw driver to create a gap. It worked quite well. (be aware of high air flow and possible static electricity)
But i really would like to know, where exactly to apply some supplementary sealing to get rid of the dust-problem. Any detailed pic would be appreciated.

Yeah Me too!
OK, people, just put some neutral silicone between (in the gap) silver plastic frame and touch screen (there is just 0,2 -0,5 mm gap, almost invisible) and you wont get any dust under the touch screen. This is the best solution, you could do it from inside, but its much more complicated...

What exactly is neutral silicone? Do you have a picture of it so I know what to buy?
I'm about to buy the TD2,
is it so big problem this dust under the screen?
Does it happen often?

I've had it for about a week and the user I bought it from had it supposedly for about 3 weeks and so far no dust. I'm still terrified its going to happen though.

Thanks for the pic, pedroo - so they simply should have glued the digitizer surface a bit more careful to the housing...
...thinking a bit about applying the radical solution - not sure yet
Hi guys,
i accidentally left my HTC HD2 in my jeans, which i put in my washing machine. It spent 15 mins on full cycle, after which i managed to figure out my disastrous blunder and pull my HD2 and its batt out. Im extremely desperate to restore life back into my phone.I know HTC will not repair it since all 3 water indicators are pink. From a few online tips, ive taken apart the housing and the main LCM Module. I have placed these two parts in a container of rice. I have not stripped it to the bare parts as i fear i might ruin it further. Moreover, i have not submerged it in alcohol yet. the only thing ive done is flush out the soap with water(did that only for abt 10 secs though...is it enough?) and put it in rice. Its been 2 hours since ive put in in the rice. Im going to leave it in the rice for abt 2-3 days before turning it on(hopefully it does...).I really need help fast guys. Should i use alcohol NOW before putting in rice?...Should i strip it to the bare essentials?...Should i use a vacuum cleaner?...if anyone can help, please do.Im really desperate and worried here.I really love my phone...and please do not ask me why i did this effing mistake...im still hating myself more than ever in my life for leaving my HD2 in my jeans.tks alot for your time and i look forward to your suggestions.tks again.
PS:Also, after i pulled my phone out, there didnt seem to be any patches or bubbles of water under the screen.Does that mean the whole screen is flooded or no water went inside?...And i do see water inside the camera. So is the camera dead forever?tks
Well,
i once found a Nokia without a battery in a roadside-stream of water... after drying and powering it on it worked flawless...
the real thing you have to worry about will be the water in the cam module. i have no clue as to how get it out. i once had water in the speaker of a very expensive babysitter-device. i never got it out. never. it stayed in there for a year or more. it was toilet water. very nice.
what happens to your leo when it is in contact with water while the battery is connected? do you know that?
well, if not, this is what i know: the electrical current will eventually short some circuits and thus might break them. if you are lucky the shorts will not break anything. if you are not lucky, something will be f****.
then, the energy, metal and water will lead to some "galvanizing" effect i have observed before, meaning, some circuits on the board may build some micro-connections with a whitish coating. what exactly happens there is beyond my knowledge. i have seen it on some devices which had been exposed to water and energy for a while. i could still fix them by scraping (yes, indeed) that off with a micro screw driver, being extremely careful not to harm any print circuit or smd-parts. that is a tough nut to achieve, for real. its not easy.
I am unsure, how the CPU is soldered onto the mainboard. there is a guy here who created some heatsink for those who had broken solderpoints and heat problems. he had said that, if you want to take off the chip you need break it because there is some epoxy around it. that would mean its connections (the little ball solderings) are waterproof. that would already mean you only have to spend attention to the surroundings. that is very relieving.
you might want to check the Internet for a replacement camera module if you don't figure out how to get the water out.
Make sure you keep your impatience under control and don't power on the device with the water still in the cam. it will do damage. the cam has electrical connections too, remember.
If i was in your situation i would assume the phone lost and use it to experiment a little. this will eventually help people here.
what i would do is the following: disassemble completely.
take all parts that can withstand a certain amount of heat and put it in an oven.
power on the oven with not more than 40 degrees Celsius. make sure not to put it under more heat-stress as it will loosen the solderpoints at about 60 degrees i think, maybe even at lower degrees. i am unsure.
warm it up for a while so that excess water dries away fast.
then check the mainboard and other parts for hidden spaces where water could have remained unseen (e.g. the camera).
then check for the witish coating, some hard to see, nearly transparent layers of water and/or soap residue. i am nearly sure that this witish coating i once observed came from high chalk (calcicated) water. this would be removable physically (scraping) or with citric acid and a soft cloth.
now, what to do with the screen? well, unsure here. check for water. if you think its very dry just leave it and connect it.
if it contains water i would probabyl also just try to let it dry. i cannot really advise here since i have not disassembled the hd2 yet.
i only know that replacement screens are not too expensive. you should possibly buy a new one rather then risking to further damage the phone with invisible shorts.
i need to cook for my wife now, hope i could give you some input mate.
good luck with your device. bad story man. bad story...
try to put for 24h into an ermetic box (closed), with salt in lower part and rice on the upper part (1/4 salt, 1/4 rice, phone, 1/4 empty) and close the box
this method can remove the major part of umidity
you can try for 3/4 days replacing salt and rice every day and cleaning the ermetic box
you can try too with a little oven for 10/15/20 minutes (max 60° Celsius and without battery of course) but i think that salt and rice is a better method
of course if you're able to open the HD2 (i done it 2 times and it's not so easy), you can use an alcoholic solution to clean chips and remove oxide (i use a Flux NO CLEAN)
DO NOT POWER ON PHONE UNTIL IT'S NOT FULLY DRY
Update
Hi,
my phone seems dry now(after 2 days of drying).I have not disassembled it completely though. The LCM module doesnt show any signs of corrosion,A few contacts and wires look okay. Not sure of the condition inside the module. Before waiting it out for another day or two, can i ask if i can use denatured alcohol to flush out any impurities or residue left by the laundry soap? Will it do any good or will it do any harm? cus im worried the alcohol might wet the phone again, now that it is dry,or maybe spoil some components. Also, may i ask if any data loss on the ROM or any damage to the cpu is likely?Tks alot.
I dropped a old cell phone in water and this was the guide i used to bring it back to life...well most of that guide anyway as well as a few other notes I picked up.
1st.) you should never try and turn the phone on intill it has had time to dry, (48 hours min)
2nd.) take apart as carefully and best you can..so that you uncover as much of the phone as you can
3rd.) dont lay the phone flat. stand it inside a cup and pour rice over it till it covers it.
I had to let my phone sit for almost a week and tried it after two days and every day after that. On the third day it turned on but still acted really odd, with each day it acted better and better. finally after six days it was back to its old self.
Please also know to not use a heat source like an over, microwave or hair dryer. If you do use a hair dryer ONLY use the "cool" setting. Hot air can make it more difficult for you to get it back on its feet. You can use rubbing alcohol to try and clean up any residue left behind by the laundry soap. I've seen sites say to submerge your phone in alcohol but i would suggest to use a q-tip and wipe the inside clean as best as you can. Make sure you do this well, the alcohol will not harm the phone farther but its the minerals or other deposits from the detergent that will.
If its available, you should use an alcohol concentration of 95% rather than rubbing alcohol that usually contains only 70%.
I hope this helps you as it helped me. I was lost when it happened and didn't know what to do. I pieced together this method from different instructions found online and it worked for me perfect. If all else fails you can call t-mobile and do whats called an out of warranty exchange. Each phone will have a different out of warranty exchange price but I had to do this once with a old phone I had and at the time it was only $100 for that model phone (htc mt3gs). It could be much more, like i said it all depends on the phone.

thanks alot for the detailed post.I will definitely follow all the instructions in the above posts.I have already done most of them.I just have to clean my phone with the alcohol. Regarding the warranty exchange, there are many problems.Firstly,im not using T-Mobile,im actually in Singapore and my operator did provide a 1 year warranty, but sadly the warranty expired 2 months ago. Moreover, all the 3 water indicators and blazing red,and while unscrewing the modules, the 'warranty void' sticker was also torn through...so yep,im left with myself and the help of the wonderful members here.tks alot for your help so far.ill report back in 2 days time, when i power up my phone.
The phone that I sent back was the phone that had water damage. Four months after I took mine for a swim my charger port broke. I told them that the phone works fine but it does have water damage. I'm not sure why they didn't charge me the $100 they said because my water damage indicators showed bright pink also, still I was glad they didn't. Since your not through t-mobile that wouldn't work for you though.
If this comes to this, fingers crossed it don't but I have seen some with water damage sell on eBay around $90-$125. You might be able to sell it and then put an additional $30 to it to buy one that's in good working order, after all I bought mine on there for $120.

alright dude...but you mean your HD2 went for a swim? So did it work after that or was the broken charger port the only damage?...and regarding the eBay sales,i dont mind if i can get a good price, but i also need to buy another used HD2(preferably an unlocked T-Mobile one)..but lets just hope i dont go there...i want my phone to come back to life and wreck havoc on the iPhones and LGs like before
Yea after I did the above mentioned steps it work just fine. Then after a few months the charger port stopped working. It getting wet didn't have anything to do with the charger port malfunctioning.

Update
Hi,
i am very pleased to say that my HTC HD2 is back alive and kicking. I followed all the useful steps provided by the very helpful members here and its working well. A few niggles of course, include a few patches of slight texture variation at the top of the screen if tilted about 150 degrees, but it is very hard to see otherwise,so no worries. Secondly, the mic is dead since no one can hear me on the other side. Other than everything is perfectly fine!...didnt expect such a recovery after that washing machine incident. So, thanks alot for your help and also thanks alot to HTC for making a good phone!..now,a small question.any ideas on where i can buy the mic module separately? tks alot
I would look on ebay. There is also several repair shops you might have some luck contacting. Here in the US there is a company call cellphone CPR or something along those lines that could probably help find and install the mic for you.

That's the thing.here in Singapore, most of the repair shops fear to dissassemble the phone and repair the components.those shops that do are not well established,so I wouldn't really trust them on my phone.my best bet is to send it to HTC,but I need to order the warranty and water indicator stickers from eBay,else they wont repair it.and I've checked eBay,they don't sell the Mic on its own.I suspect its a whole module by itself, but I don't mind soldering a new Michael myself.just can't find one.
It's a difficult job as the microphone is assembled to the main board found at the base of the unit.
This entire mainboard would have to be replaced and it houses the Qualcomm CPU and other items.
If you do dissemble there is a rubber black protector on it. Try removing it and cleaning it. Perhaps some dirt or something got in there and has blocked the microphone function.
Good luck...

if theres some dirt, theres gotta be at least some sort of noise audible to the person on the other side...i suspect the whole mic to be broken.anyway, cant expect all to be well after a ride through the washing machine haha...ill ring HTC and ask for the repair cost.doubt it would be anywhere near affordable though...
Well, i'm following this with great interest. I am very happy to hear how good the recovery went.
Kawshigan, please update the thread once you know what htc said. I'd be interested to hear too.
Thanks

sent it to T-mobile instead. HTC told me if they find water damage on the motherboard that it voids the warranty
as well as if the stickers are red/pink. I don't know what they can trace on the motherboard or if T-Mobile is the
same but i didnt have a problem returning it to them. I was never charged the $100 T-Mobile said it would
be for a out of warranty exhange either.

It's not a module, it's just the mic itself, but you need some skills to desolder and solder it back on motherboard.
If you have no other solution, PM me your adress and I'll send you one.

Kind of true, but not for a skilled service guy (a 15 minutes job)!

Totally false!
So, I took the plunge after watching several videos on "how to apply a tempered glass screen protector using Loca glue", and tried it myself. I have about 7 small bubbles, but I think I can live with them?? (we'll find out).
I only used about 1.5cc, but that was way too much and it oozed out. I thought I wiped it off of everything before I cured it (with a UV light).....Shortly afterwards, I received a call and couldn't hear anything out of my earpiece? I figured I got glue down in it, so I used alcohol, a toothpick, a Q-tip and a can of air... I eventually got the sound louder, but it's still muffled and distorted. I even tried a sewing needle and poked it in all the holes, but it's too big to go in the fine holes (I pushed too hard on one, and now have a bigger hole in the earpiece - may have just killed my water protection?).
Is there anything else I can do? I'm literally sick to my stomach now.......I've only had this phone 5 weeks and already messed it up
Hopefully someone had some advice on how to fix it/get the glue out of the earpiece?
UPDATE:
Fixed, the best I can do.....
I work in a medical office, with medical supplies. I took a very small needle and poked it through every hole in the grill and it now seems about 99% better. It still doesn't sound as good as before, but that could also be a placebo effect too (because I'm upset with myself)?
I did find out the grill is a very soft metal (aluminium?)... I noticed that I dented/deformed the grill slightly, last night, while trying to clean it (as well as poked a hole in it/busted out two holes into one hole).
As stated above, I'm not sure now how water proof my phone is now??
Oh well, I know now:
1) To put tape over the speaker grill next time (maybe the buttons too?).
2) Use a smaller amount of Loca glue
3) Put the glue on as a fat strip, right in the center, instead of a 4 thinner strips that crossed over each other a few times (this is why I have bubbles)
4) Buy a better screen protector, this one isn't full coverage.
Having the same problem. What gauge needle did you use? Any chance you could look at the packaging at work and let us know?

Well.... I actually used the taper needle on the end of a disposable 5/0 suture. The pointed tip was sharp enough to go in the hole, but the shaft was too wide to go any further.
I was using a 29g (insulin syringe) needle at first, and that worked as well, but I bent it too many times and switched to the more sturdy suture needle.
I was also experienced the same issue, while applying the uv screen protector from a localised store, I'm telling them that please ensure may earpiece will damage, they told nothing will happen, after completion of installation process, uv light also used, before leaving out I thought I would like to call, unfortunately my earpiece not working, I mean very less sound.i thought I would have go to OnePlus service center for repairing. however after I went back to home, I just applied some alcohol based sanitizer, and I thoroughly used hard toothbrush and clean it, with in 10 minutes of duration, everything got cleaned. Now it it is working properly .
Allright Axon 7 owners, can anyone out there make a program file for a 3D printer for speaker grills for the Axon 7?

Do you have a 3D printer? I don't, but I guess you could make a very thin rough model with some educational version of solid edge or whatever, then print it and see if it fits, tune the shape slightly...
There's a full CAD of the phone but it costs some money, and nobody wants to spend it. I wouldn't because I don't have a 3d printer.
Someone made cases for the phone, so the grill would be much easier surely... Maybe you can make another design like maybe 3 slits or something?

no, i dont have one, but a close friend who lives 5 min from me does. i asked him if he could make some for me, and he said sure, if ya have the file to print. after i read this response, i searched around for the files, even for a paid version, a d found nothing. had kind of forgotten about it.

I have a 3d printer, but I dont think draw the piece is easy...
You have one removed from the phone?
Im not going to disassembly mine to draw the piece

no. my grey upper one is cracked at the ff camera and my gold ones melted from flashing solvent when i duracoated them.
If you can send pictures I can try, but I need the backside te view some clips or something that holds the grill to the phone

If you won't try them then I'm pretty sure it'll go wrong. The only way to do this right is by getting one off and making the CAD, then make prototypes until they actually fit. A friend is going to buy a 3D printer later, so I might do the CAD of the grills and tell him to print me some

If you want to try I can make a model. but the curved parts will probably not be perfect. Just tell me which parts are wrong and I can fix them.
I'll be able to do that in about a week

the grills are held on by double sided tape. the only difficult part is not heating up the tape too much before gently prying them off. if you do heat too much, the cloth that *should* remain over the speakers as a protector after the plastic grilles are removed. i used a hair dryer on med-low heat the second time and it worked far better. there are no clips or anything else holding them on, just tape.

Lol I can make a model with mine as soon as I have time. Next week I'll be free to do one of these. I'm thinking on scanning both @ max dpi and making a model with that.

Well whatever is is you do, and they look good count me in as a buyer lol
The key is just make them as blanks (ie without holes) and some wet-and-dry sand paper. Sand to fit, and then using the original as the template and a needle (tiny) drill, make the holes. You can even have your own holes design if you so desire.

I will. Although I guess it is possible to print tiny recesses so that you don't need the original to make the holes
I had to make one of these tiny drills to make holes in PCB. Made one with a small 5v motor and a 1mm drill bit. Works like a charm! I guess you guys will need something similar to make the holes though
I had some free time, started doing a draft model. I assumed 0.8mm, but I'm not sure that's the number. If someone can print this for me, make a prototype, it'd be awesome. It's still flat but i only want to see if the width is right. plus i'd need someone to sand it until it sits flush to the top and sides and measure it with a caliper so that we don't need to make a second prototype.
The camera hole may be slightly off center but only by a tenth of a millimeter or so. still, check that out if possible.
If anyone agrees to print one i'll send it tomorrow or someday else. I hope that the educational version of solid edge lets me send it though, or i'll have to resort to other methods ?
p.s. the holes for the speakers seem to be 0.8mm in radius. i don't think that's possible to print with a 3d printer, but I'll make them as slight recesses to see how it looks.
p.p.s if you take the grill off, be REALLY careful with the camera lens! you may lose it like me, or smear it on the underside, or get stuff on the camera... just be careful.
Think you can drill the camera hole too. If you are not too fussed, then I do not think the speaker holes must be the same size. If it must be, just try different sized needle drill bits in existing holes till the one cannot pass through. The size down from that one will be the right one.

There's no need to drill it, I guess you can just print it with the hole and sand it if needed. and i've been thinking on making different designs, for example a slit on the grill in the middle (the problem would be the lower one since the speaker is on the right corner
Okay, surfacing is done. I can either make the holes from here (I already did one with 0.8mm holes and it looks like the real deal) or just mark them, or maybe try another design? Please if anyone can print it just tell me what you want me to do to it and i'll send it with the design, or recesses for drilling, or whatever you want
@kitcostantino @chrisrodsa210 @alvinlwh some renders, because why not
There's one with reflective plastic and one with matte plastic

Oh damn I like the reflective one with the lines! Great job bud.
Long story short... My little brother spilled a cup of milk on my phone. ?*
At first, both of my speakers seemed to work, just little distortion from being wet, nothing major. I left the phone upside down after drying it off. Come the next day, the top speaker stopped working, but the bottom one works fine. I can't hear anyone unless I put them on speaker, so I checked with Google and my device is well out of warranty, since I pretty much ordered it around day 1.
I haven't yet to contact Huawei, I probably should, but I've went on and ordered this piece here...
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/401176645698
Bottom line... Does anyone have any experience with the teardown of a 6P and know if it will fix the issue, or should I not be stubborn and contact Huawei? ?
Thanks
It will almost certainly fix the issue but the speaker from this seller isn't great quality. My top speaker had distortion after a spill and I ordered a replacement from the same ebay seller. I ended up carefully cleaning up my original speaker with a q-tip and cleaned up the grill while it was apart. Your speaker may need replaced though since it's not working at all. Or maybe the connections to the motherboard are just dirty. Have some thermal compound on hand the replace the old stuff when you remove the motherboard. And test it out before you put the back cover back on.
Don't understand completely, but even looking at the motherboard, I couldn't tell if there was something wrong.
I've replaced the speaker, but the sound coming from the top is super dim. I can't think of what the problem may be whatsoever. [emoji21]
Might take another look, but taking this this was a nightmare(pretty much the first part). Using guitar picks and whatnot just didn't work, but an X-Acto knife worked no problem.
