Are you using it?
Mine arrived last Friday. Using it now with stock ROM 11.0.6 (EEA), but bootloader unlock is on the way (damn seven days of delay....)
Will try xiaomi.eu beta MIUI 12 ROM once my bootloader is unlocked tomorrow in the evening. I used that on my Mi 9T Pro, and it worked well there.

I'm waiting for the bootloader time frame to pass so it can be unlocked (3 days to go). A close friend has done it and he is loving it. It has to be the miui 11 eu stable rom. The miui 12 eu rom is om hold due to a problem with a Qualcomm update. Tutorial and steps to follow are on the page xiaomi eu. The moderators there have confirmed that the rom for the redmi k30 pro has the same code and it is full compatible with the poco f2 pro. Code name of the rom is "Imi".
Cheers ?

It may be a coincidence, but the update has been suspended at the same time they announced android 11 beta 1 for our device, mi 10 and mi 10 pro. So it might be because they are working on that

Wait. They just put version 12 on hold due to an issue with the Qualcomm chipset. They are waiting on an update from Qualcomm. Check before you flash.

Yep, saw that. Quite unfortunate, but i assume updates will return next week, since the Qualcomm baseline update should take 3 weeks.
For the time being, i'll use the version from May 24th.
The xiaomi.eu rom is OK, better than the standard Chinese Xiaomi Rom if you are wanting to use it outside of China. However it is not great (some very peculiar permissions requests and a lot of things are (purposefully?) unclear) AND the xiaomi.eu site owner and devs are arrogant toxic egotists which does not inspire high levels of trust.
Not sure what the Qualcomm issue affects as I have been using the 20.5.21 MIUI 12 beta on my Redmi K30 Pro without any noticeable issues.
(Recovery is modified TWRP from the Xiaomi.eu ROM, Magisk works, Google stuff works, EdXposed works (as does XPrivacy Lua seemingly).

Flash miui 12 and give feedback
Thanks XDA. I love my new K30 Pro Zoom Edition
Still waiting for them to unlock my Redmi K30 Pro Zoom (6 days and counting). Also, I really want to get rid of the stock rom as I'm not a fan of the bloatware, as I cannot understand the Chinese language. I hope the MIUI12 from XiaomiEU got rid most of those, while waiting for an AOSP, Lineage or Paranoid Android roms. (Hopeful that the devs will turn their attention to this flagship killer. ?
Great to finally see a forum for f2 pro I finally got boot loader unlocked but the custom recovery for the K30 leaves alot to be desired plus I don't know Chinese so I wasn't sure what I was doing I'll wait til someone developes a proper TWRP (hopefully TEAM-WIN)

Hey all ,
So I recently lost my phone and had to buy a new one so this Redmi Pro seemed like a great bargain.
I (stupidly) didn't research the OS because I just assumed I could put stock android / CM if I didn't like the phone. Anyway I absolutely hate MIUI 8 ....
I've started the process of requesting the unlock and hopefully that will be successful but is there any ROMs I can even put on this phone ? According to the CM wiki the Redmi Pro isn't supported officially and even unofficially :'(
So have I just made a made a gigantic mistake and am stuck with an iOS clone for another year till I buy a new phone ?
same problem...

CM support will take time as the phone has only just been released. In the meantime you can get small MIUI customisations for the Redmi Pro on smiui.net (I haven't tried these yet).
Personally with the Google Now launcher taking the place of the MIUI launcher and Chrome instead of the Xiaomi browser I don't mind the global version of MIUI 8.

if you dont have an unlocked bootloader it wont let you flash a global rom.
this is basicly to prevent people from buying chinese versions from aliexpress.
the problem is that these sellers open the bootloader and install a fake global rom / global rom on it...
if you have an unlocked bootloader you are fine, your playstore wont pass safety net though
...
Now Xiaomi Phones which are manufactured in China Factory/China Hardware, can't be able to run MIUI Global ROM with Locked Bootloader.

Oooh, believe me, it will...
How are those AliExpress sellers unlocking the bootloader and installing fake global ROMs? Do they have an army of people making fake MIUI accounts and waiting for a month for an unlock code? Sounds to me like they use logic probes to flash the fake ROMs directly.

That's a good question.
If it is so, why would they do that?
What's the benefit of this for Xiaomi?
This looks very bad.
They can make all the excuses they want, but I think there's a pretty clear agenda here.
I'd be surprised if there's still a development community for any new Xiaomi phones in 6 months, given how fast this is deteriorating.
As long as they keep device price down, bootloader unlockable and release kernel sources everything will be fine with development community... That's all devs need.
MIUI fans are those that should worry...
Prices are likely to stay down.
The other two ... doubtful. Some people are already waiting 3 months for bootloader unlock codes. If that becomes the norm, that's development stone dead.
They've also done absolutely nothing about releasing kernels in a more timely fashion, despite promising it repeatedly over the last year. If anything they've gone up slightly.
People ignored the warning signs with Huawei, and others before them, or hoped for the best (I did). Look where we are now.
They actually released Max 3 kernel source pretty fast, less than a month after device launch...
https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/tree/nitrogen-o-oss?files=1
The thing is no custom roms coming out of China forums which makes me think this device has no China market success... That wasn't the case with first Max. Custom roms started popping up first week after release even without kernel source...

The problem is understanding real difference between the China & Global versions, how they decide to allow or not allow flashing of the 2 versions.
In the official announcement they imply this restriction is only for devices released under 2018.
On 4pda they seem to think that there is no actual hard difference ("model identifiers"?) between Global and Chinese Mi8, but there is for the respective Mi2s, for example.
If I read correctly.
https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=906971&st=940#entry75262442
Looks like all restrictions are in bootloader - unlocking, ARB, market variant. There is no hardware differences/restrictions between any of the Max 3 variants period. Otherwise you will not be able to run different MIUI versions with unlocked bootloader.
devinfo partition keeps the bootloader unlocked status. Not sure where the bits defining China/Global device are kept... yet...

That may be but it's the people who flashed the Global Rom on a China device who have the problems
with phone calls / broken modem.
Would they have built in a restriction in the Global Rom so you could not install it on a
China device to work properly ???
We won't know till proper official Global rom shows up on en.miui.com. All I see right now are global roms from under the table so to speak full of bugs.
Most of us purchased the Mi Max 3 which was manufactured for the mainland China market, because the "global" variant of the phone was only released a few weeks ago in Singapore, Hong Kong, etc. If the official warning on the Xiaomi site that phone's manufactured for the Chinese market cannot flash global ROMs and vice versa, then our solution is to use the xiaomi.eu ROM. Xiaomi.eu is a modified version of the China ROM, but is entirely in English and other European languages with full Google framework services. The MIUI 10 8.8.9 China weekly development ROM available from xiaomi.eu is rock solid. Once Xiaomi releases a China stable MIUI 10 ROM for the Mi Max 3, xiaomi.eu will tweak and release it for the English speaking world, so for those who bought their Max 3's before a global variant was manufactured will be fine as long as they use xiaomi.eu.

I'd be very surprised if this isn't selling well (very well) in China. It's an incredible value proposition, and large screen & large battery are seen as very desirable in both that and other Asian markets.
However, I think the 3 month wait for BL unlock *is* the norm now for Chinese and select other Asian users .. whereas rest of the world it appears to be totally random. Could be a couple of hours or it could be 3 months.
I think you'll find that's the reason why there's little to no Chinese development activity. As I said ... thin end of the wedge, IMO.
I'm asking it because on AliExpress the k20 has chinese rom originally, and the global rom is flashed after unlocked bootloader.
Te 9t has global rom officially.
Which is the better option? If I buy the k20, can I make it a full fledge 9t with working gpay, etc?
I'm asking it because there is a significant price difference between them.
Yes You Can After Unlocking BL ... You Just Have To Flash Fastboot Global ROM and you good to go

See There Are 3 Versions Of The Same Devices
1. Chinese one
2. Indian one
3. Global one
( code names are also little bit different )
You can flash any ROM meant for any version to the device you buy .
FYI Giving Some Example Of SomeOne Who Faced Problem Regarding This.
[[[[[Ok guys I figured it out.Redmi K20 firmware starts with "Davincini" and 9T firmware starts with "Davinici" . So I have opened each of the "flash_all,flash_all_except_storage,flash_all_lock " with note pad plus and edited the words Davincini in the k20 fastboot rom to Davinci (9T) in the 8th and 9th row and flashed it with mi flash .It flashed perfectly . But forgotten to choose flash_all. So it relocked the bootloader. Now the front camera was not working.
There was a August update waiting . Updated now all is fine .Case closed.
Now again have to wait for 30 days to unlock the bootloader . Anyways back to miui 10 . So thanks . May be helpful to somebody...
K20 firmware starts with Davincini
9T frimware starts with Davinci...
Thanks Guys.............]]]]]

But EURO B20 and B28 LTE bands are not present on K20 china, I guess.
And not sure the phones version are not region locked in case you relock bootloader like MI8 is.

If you don't want to mess it up and need a tutorial, it kind of mean that you should go with the mi9t
After all, it was clear to what to do as people post here. But if you still feel unsure on how to do it, it's better to don't.

I'm using 10 rom too currently on my mi a2 while waiting for the 9t. The reason I chose the 9t is that I doesn't need to flash roms right away when it arrives just to use gpay. I think miui 11 will be good, I would use it for 1-2 months when releases, and then custom roms later..

Interesting. Have you unlocked your bootloader yet? After unlocking, you can try installing the xiaomi.eu ROM using the instructions here: [ROM][MIUI][citrus] Xiaomi.eu ROM for POCO M3 | XDA Developers Forums (xda-developers.com)
No I didn't see this tutorial ! thanks I will try it
Just make shure when you flash a rom other than the original one that came with the phone, you must never try to relock your bootloader. Because that will result in a bricked phone.

That's unfortunate. After searching online, I found a few tutorials using MI Flash to flash Stock ROM (not xiaomi.eu ROM) https://romprovider.com/poco-m3-citrus-flash-file-firmware/
Keep in mind I can't tell you if this works or if it's safe because I can't try it myself. In the worst case scenario, you might have to open your device to enter test point edl mode but there's no tutorial for that since the device is new.

I think it is an internal engineering testing prototype of Xiaomi, which uses AOSP for testing, it is not for sale.
I searched online and saw that in China someone had also received a Mi Note 3, that had AOSP, without MIUI.
