Hey everyone! Hope I'm not making any mistakes here, I'm very new to this section and to the AA world, so apologies in advance if this is the wrong section!
I've set my eyes on this HU: the Teyes CC2. They have a lot of sales but for some reason, I find very little on Google about these units.
Does anybody here have one and know if it supports HeadUnit Reloaded please?
Thanks a lot!
Well, i'm also looking about more information about that head unit on XDA. It seems to be very popular in Russia and Vietnam, you can find a lot of videos on YouTube about it, and rarely some in English from a guy in the United states that installed a CC2 head unit in his Jeep.
3 days ago, i posted some questions but didn't get any response to my following questions... @ the people who have this head unit, how good is Teyes CC2 head unit? What are the pros and cons of this device? Does the ventilator cool indeed the CPU if you put it to the test with An tutu or another test, and how good is the performance of this SC 9853 cpu from Intel, compared to the PX 5 and 6? How's the customer support if there is a problem? Does this IPS screen influences the DAB+ reception if you set the screen brightness on high or low? I have an external DAB+ antenna and if i put my screen brightness on his lowest, i got an much better DAB+ reception with my current head unit (the screen causes a lot of electromagnetic interference (EMI) that blocks the DAB+ signals . Is this also the case with this head unit? that's a lot of questions, but i wanted to know first handed from people who own a Teyes CC2 head unit.
I hope someone with a Teyes CC2 will respond to this thread.
Same here!
You might find this review quite interesting, it's in Russian but not a problem with Chrome's translator. Also you can post questions in the comments and the author seems to speak very good English: http://buyandtell.net/teyes-s-pro-2gb-ram-32gb-rom-for-renault-megane-2/
I really like the unit and based on that review it's really powerful for the price, but I do not want to spend 250 Euro on Aliexpress before I know for certain if HeadUnit reloaded will work on it or not

I read the review, a real deal-breaker is the fact that the there is no micro SD card slot and no connection for an external mic, also the fan on the back of the head unit would be a bit loud, but that's not real a problem. If Teyes want me to buy the head unit, they have to offer a micro sd card slot and a connection for a external mic in the hu. So i will wait for the CC3 and hope it will offer the things i miss in the CC2.
I see your point, fair enough!
My opinion about your points:
- Mic: the internal one seems to get the job done, but I get that you might want a higher quality one
- Fan: he says you can only hear it when the car is off, not a deal-breaker for me but indeed a bit annoying.
- MicroSD: why not just use a usb stick instead? Just spitballing here, but maybe a usb to MicroSD adaptor would work too?
It's annoying and means that i always have to disconnect one of this 3 dongles
1 : DAB+ usb dongle.
2 : TPMS usb dongle.
3 : Android auto usb dongle.
Than is such micro sd slot more than welcome

I see! If the unit was confirmed to work with HeadUnit Reloaded, then the port for AA wouldn't be needed as it can connect wirelessy, but we don't get to know so... :/

Hi, i just bought CC2 unit (4/64) 10.1" 2 weeks ago, i can anwser couple of questions here. I have already used and installed about 20 head unit so for, and this one is really good.
Its got a sleep mode (3 days), you don't have to wait everytime to until it boots. IPS screen is good quality, acctually the same as any other IPS 10.1 . Build in microphone is acceptable quality, but the BT unit itself i much better then most units, audio quality for calls is really good for this kind of units.
What do you need microSD slot for ?! You can always use msd adapeter in usb slot. There is external microphone in CC2L unit, but this one is low on specs. Regardning the fan on the back it is very good there it is there,
i was thinking about adding a bigger one for hotter days. I've didn;t have a change to hear it yet.
I can test this HU relaoaded app --> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gb.xxy.hr <-- is it this one ?

Legend! Finally some feedback on this very promising unit That's indeed the app I was talking about! It's about 5 Euro, but you can ask for a refund if you don't need it. Hell I can pay that for you in order to get some feedback on whether it works or not

I got a Teyes Spro and Headunit Reloaded works perfectly. In wireless mode it starts the hotspot and can trigger the phone to open the app and connect wirelessly.
Actually, I don't use it all the time because i got a sim card for its own connection and sync my apps so that native apps work great.
Wow this is amazing news, thank you so much for letting everyone know! Guess I'm gonna get one very soon

Not the person you asked to, but I'm pretty confident HU Reloaded works with both usb and WiFi, you won't need any adapter regardless of the head unit, that's the beauty of Headunit Reloaded.

Did you bought your Teyes CC2?
My hesitation to not to buy the next Teyes disappears, now that i know that there is a CC3 on his way.
I read on the Russian 4PDA that it will have 4/6 and 8 gb memory and 128 gb storage.
That's a lot of space, with 128 gb of storage, there is place enough for all my music and apps combined.
Also Android Auto and Car play is build in.
It's still pitty they use only 3 usb ports while the internal hub can handle 4 usb ports, 1 for the TPMS, 2 for the DAB+ dongle, 3 For my Resler usb stick (to read al my BMW data), and if i want to buy a dash cam from Teyes it self, i have a usb port to short.
But all by all it looks good.

Ooh I had no idea a CC3 was in the works, thanks for posting!
To be honest I'm fine with the specs of the cc2 as it's likely gonna be cheaper too compared to the new one.
But let's see! To answer your question, I was really close to buying it, but then the corona **** storm hit us, and I see no reason to buy it at the moment considering I'm working from home and using the car once a week to buy groceries :/
Im currently looking at the Tpro.
Do you think it would be worth waiting out to see if they refresh the specs etc?

I do think so.
A 12 nm UIS7862 big.LITTLE with 2 A75 and 6 A55 cores cpu, 6 gb memory, 128 gb of storage, 9 inch IPS+2.5D screen, build in DSP 32 band equalizer, 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi, built in AA and Carplay (not wireless), Full hd rear view camera, build in 4G internet connection and Android 10.
It's good
I took the risk and bought it, it's a good unit I just hope they will make full frame for it instead of the panel.
I was surprised how fast it is, I got the 4GB ram, 64GB memory, 8 core 1.8 GHz and 4G Sim slot.
It starts instantly, sleep mode 3 days, without sleep mode runs under 20 seconds.
Multi screen interface, everything runs smoothly
I posted a video on youtube you search it ( Grand cherokee TEYES CC2)
And sorry for my English
Just for info: CC2plus is already available. with optional 128Gb. Is also shall have the new UIS7862 CPU.
CRV
Sometimes shown as option on CC2 product page.
CC3 is actually still "in progress" and has "follow our updates" status.
And unfortunately there is NO confirmation that it would be possible to upgrade CC2plus to CC3 with SW update.

Anyone know of anything out there?
There's a couple on the market I've seen. Many are out there as concepts. In the Barnes &Noble nook forums there is guy who did a write up on how he installed a nook in the dash of his jeep. It's a 7 inch screen and fits with a little Modding. I'm surprised you didn't find any on your search.

Those are the main ones people have been "keeping an eye on" since last year.
After talking with some friends that are in to car audio, I've deemed them all to be subpar for my needs so i just got a 32gb sammy tab plus, 64gb microsd card, and a $30 dash kit that i will mod for mounting. I think the three key things that a real head unit has over mounting a tablet are: 1) easy back up camera solution 2) satellite radio 3) built in bluetooth handsfree. 1 and 3 are possible, just not the easiest, and i have no use for number 2 since i dont subscribe.
*edit* - just realized i had subscribed to the thread boborone is referencing Nook Color in Jeep Wrangler
There is also the more mainstream AppRadio from Pioneer. Search it since I can't post links yet.

Nice. That's what I want. Too bad its release is in q4. :-(

Has anyone tried any of these or know if they would be any good hardware wise?
How about the possibility of custom roms or even rooting them?
This one seems the better choice in the fact it's a removable tablet. Not because I want a tablet but because it would be easier to bring into the house for flashing purposes. Never heard of it's CPU mind?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321013490466
This one is quite a nice looking one with non removable screen. Has a Cortex A8 which I've heard of at least
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121016519547
So what's your views and opinions?
So no comments then? I'm really hankering for an Android unit in the car. Will beat the socks off the crappy 2din wince unit i have. The software on that is so cumbersome and doesn't match throughout the different modes.
Ok just found this Parrot Asteroid 2DIN. Looks very good but not available yet.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dH3-VAfqjEw
Also after watching some video's of the unit with pad I posted previously it seems that most of the main functions are handled by an internal process in the unit (maybe wince?) which then outputs video and control via the tablet. This has kind of put me off a little bit.
So after watching some other video's of the Ca-Fi I think I am going to go with one of these. The new one is upgraded to 2.3 Android, capacitive touchscreen and a 1ghz processor. So saving my pennies now!!!!!

Okay all this talk of android double din, well I have a double din unit in my car, all self fitted, it has 2 sd slots, 1 for GPS and the other for sd card for media, but was wondering if any of these slots can be used to "install" new os onto the unit.
How does the Os get installed onto these, there must be a way.

Hey guys,
There's a bunch of Android-based devices out there in the market. I'm looking for the best one that's available - are you able to recommend some unit?
I was hoping to buy the Parrot RNB6, but it seems it's an abandoned project.
Has anyone ever seen any specs on pre out voltage on any of these units? Or even better a digital out? They seem to be all about software on the specs minus the 55w x 4 channel spec, the biggest gripe I have the with main manufacturers of hu out there right now is you either get a nice ui and imo poor pre out voltage or a really terrible ui that is almost unbearable but high voltage, which in turn leads to higher volume and clearer audio. This is what I have found at my price range anyways and am not really willing to drop $2k on a head unit at this point. Anyways i am trying to look through all the links on this page but any help would be appreciated
Edit: guess it's 2/2 pages and not 22 pages haha, guess I did check them all

I have Audi S6 C5 and just need a regular 2DIN unit - it will fit. However, the chinese stuff I'm looking at other threads in this forum seem very crappy and of low quality.
Is there something that can be really reliable, working fast and with good audio quality?
headunit 4.4.4 quad core 3188
I have had mine for more than 6 months
Sound is great ram is only 1gb so app installs stop after pandora and waze, and one or 2 other items
I use a wifi hotspot, on tmobile, $10/month no limits.
pandora now works no matter who drives car, and NAV youtube etc
Not sure newer version of android would help, more ram would help more
Looking to add a bluetooth radio for hands free calling to my old Chevy. Thought it would be cool if it did other stuff, Maps especially.
I find myself being drawn to the D766a by Xtrons. Planning to purchase a backup camera also. I have a few questions.
1: Is this a good option? Are there better units for comparable cost? ($339)
2: How Is the app compatibility? Will I be able to use Waze? Would this require a data dongle?
3: How do data dongles work? Monthly cost? One time cost?
Software and modification support is better on the rk3188 units. I would recommend you look on Amazon for either the Pumpkin or Naviskauto single DIN. I looked at the Xtrons and it had a few drawbacks. I think the only advantage was the higher res screen. One big deciding factor for me was ease of rooting the rk3188. Also the 3188 units support Bluetooth OBD, not sure if the Xtrons does.

Thank you so much for the helpful reply!
Like this one?
I had seen these, but was leaning towards the Xtron due to the better screen. If XDA stands behind the pumpkin, that really helps make the decision!
It looks like this does not come with an external mic?
Lastly, I still dont understand how the 3g dongles work... I assume I need a service contract? Id love an EL5... (Explain like I am 5)
I asked about the Xtrons here before I bought the Naviskauto, and got no response. The rk3188 based radios have much better support.
No external mic is true. I haven't had any issues with the internal one on this model. There is a hardware mod you can do for external that I presume would be similar on the single DIN, but you have to be willing to do small part soldering which I'm not.
3g would require its own line with your cell co and a SIM card. For me it was a better choice to get an LTE hotspot from my provider which I keep plugged in in the car. That way I just use the built-in WiFi on the radio which auto connects to the hotspot.

Thank you! I ordered one of the RK3188 flip up units on EBay for only $279. From my understanding the external mic just required the adapter from RCA to the universal headphone style plug? My truck has enough road noise, I felt an external mic was important. I'll let you know if it works.
My phone is rooted and can create a hotspot, I was considering the 3g dongle to avoid data overage charges. Thank you for the info!
Super excited to get this installed.
I have the Pumpkin RK3188 based flip-up unit and am generally satisfied. People that I call on the handsfree tell me that the quality isn't great due to the internal microphone. My vehicle is a noisy Sprinter cargo van. The supplied nav program works well and requires no internet connection. I use my cell as a hotspot to provide on-road internet

Looking at this unit as well for its single DIN and hide-a-way screen, how's it running now? Im looking at possibly Oenon's deck as they have 2yr warranty and costs less vs Pumpkin's. Is the faster core worth the lower resolution?
I too have a noisy truck (Volvo semi truck) so i guess i'll also have to do some kind of external microphone mod? I still have a mic from past deck, is there a way to do it with external line in?
lol this is pretty darn cool jumping from smartphones to now car decks!
I know this is an older thread, but I am playing catchup.
My 2009 Toyota Avalon has a weird non standard audio form factor, but I know people who have installed 7" flip up screens and they are good fit. (Specifically the Pioneer single din flip ups.)
I am drawn to the "universal" android style and have read some good threads on the Eonon GA1312 and it looks to be similar to the Pumpkin discussed here.
Is that still the commendation from those who are using them, or have they been super ended by something better?
Thanks!
So i have posted several times on this board about my various Joying units, and I have a thread about my Seicane:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...cane-10-1-inch-android-6-0-head-unit-t3656383
However it lacked the Dormancy that Joying had and the sound wasn't great on it. So I decided to pick up a @hotaudio unit, in particular this one:
Dasaita 10.2" Android 6.0 Car GPS Player for Jeep Wrangler
I got it in the mail on Tuesday, I made an unboxing video here:
https://youtu.be/z1v2t8cSNvc
I also have it installed, that video isn't up yet. But so far so good, it seems to take most of the best features of the Joying and Seicane and mesh them together. It is also a PX5 MTCD, so it has a lot of MTCD like features that my original Joying had, so it is like a bit of nostalgia for me. However thanks to the Octacore and 2GB of RAM, it doesn't have the slowness of my original 1GB of RAM Joying unit.
How is the fit and finish of this unit when installed? I have the Joying 6.2 2GB Sofia unit and love it. Sounds WAYYYY better than that stock crap I had. Interested in this one though. Does it work with all apps, most importantly waze? One more thing where did you order it from? Ebay?
it fits better than the Seicane model I had previously. The Seicane seemed to look spot on color-wise, but the Hot Audio is a smidgen darker than the other plastic. However the Hot Audio is also harder than the Seicane, so it installs easier. Still sucks to install, but not as bad as the Seicane.
So i definitely like it better than the Seicane, and it looks much better than the Joying. I have over a year experience with Joying, so I'm waiting to see how the Hot Audio turns out.
So far, I'm loving it, everything works like a champ, Waze included. The sound quality is top notch, maybe even better than Joying
Install video is up
Thanks for the video.
My unit comes in Tuesday.
My Car is a 2008 civic SI.
The Hu is not compatible with the stock amplifier. I'll need to use a metra 70-1722 as the middle man and figure out how to integrate the stock amp.

I know you guys haven't really had a long enough time to test the features of this unit.. but i'm in the market as a first time android head unit owner and was considering the joying (JY-UM135N2, 2 gb, sofia), but also would consider others.. is the Daisaita worth looking at?
Not sure what the price of the unit is since when I click the "buy now" link.. nothing opens. Hah.

You have to buy from eBay or Aliexpress.
I have both the Joying and the Dasaita.
If Dasaita can fix this one bug, then it is one to go for.
Joying has always been a good thing for me
Here is the hidden MicroSD card
Here is a video about wiring a PAC harness to a Joying.
The same principles would apply to Seicane or Dasaita. And if the default harness doesn't work with the Alpine and/or Infiniti, it will definitely work with a PAC.
Does this thing support HD Radio, by the way? I was looking into getting the universal version (Nissan I think is the universal one), but I don't see any mention of it being supported.

I don't think any of these Chinese head units support that
Here is how to access the MicroSD card
Here is a video about updating the system and MCU
how is the handsfree on this device?
I'm looking into buying one for a Tiguan but handfree is a must for me.

I am not a great reference here, I almost never get phone calls. Pretty much all of my calls are just to test to make sure it works.
However they seemed fine
Here is a video about installing and using MtcdTools on my Dasaita Hot Audio V600
I have a 2007 GMC Yukon XL Denali with the premium BOSE system, factory NAV, XM, and rear flip down screen. What is most important to me is retaining BOSE, being able to use the factory backup cam, and being able to utilize the rear screen so my son can watch a DVD or video files I load on a USB/SD card. I believe with a couple of adapters, it can work if the unit supports it.
I have scoured the internet for weeks now trying to learn what I can about the cheap Chinese units. I understand there are just a few producers and 100's of resellers but all this stuff is still new and confusing . I am considering the Hizpo 7.1 unit(Android 7.1 Lollipop OS, CPU: Rockchip PX3 Cortex A9 Quad Core 1.6GHz, Nand Memory: 16GB, RAM: DDR3 2GB), amazon number B077SBX8CG. I believe these are MTCD_GS units. I want to be able to get the most out of this thing and am not afraid of using custom roms. What I don't want to do is get one that no one is modding. Is there much aftermarket support for this unit?
The hardest things to find out for me have been:
1. Can my son watch a video in the back while I have navigation running on the front screen? I think use of the RSE requires Metra GMRSAV adapter but not sure.
2. Can the unit feed my factory backup cam? I think it would require the Metra BackupCam adapter.
I would appreciate any thoughts you guys do have. I have no Android preference, just want something that runs smooth, and can be tweaked. Thanks
Anyone?
Anyone have any thoughts?

I have the same SUV. My HU is my own from a business venture where I went to China, met ODMs, and had a nice plan that simply didn't work out. The problems I get frustrated with are:
(a) Bluetooth voice quality. There is no comparison to Parrot although Xtrons new 8.0 units use (company acquired by Motorola but I forget the name). So make sure you ask WHO makes the BT. (Note: external microphones never are an improvement from my testing)
(b) Boot time. More apps = more waiting.
(c) Brightness at night is something I constantly have to manually adjust...auto is not auto.
(d) External amps are a waste - will not be worth it. The DAC sucks in these chipsets. Internal amp sound will be sufficient.
(e) Rockchip is better than Allwinner - and the old Intel Sofia units have the most customization from what I can gather.
So if I were to buy another unit I'd look at Xtrons, Pumpkin, Eonon, Joying, Ownice, and maybe LinksWell when they come out with a compatible or generic HU (they are the only one on this list with a US office.)
Also, you will need to customize a dash install kit - easy to find but I had to Dremel mine down to fit nicely. These units are slightly larger than Japanese standard size.

Thanks for the insight! I believe these are GS units so exactly the same as the Xtrons. Hard to get details on the web but will know everything when it arrives on Saturday. I bought with Amazon Prime so if anything is not to my liking, back it goes for a free return!
Lets hope its one that folks have modded before. Since I have yet to find a video of this unit in my vehicle addressing my specific camera and screen questions, I will try and do a solid review of the unit and post it here for folks.
Thanks

That should have a Ralink BC8 for bluetooth 3.0 (maybe 4.0) in which case your handsfree should be fine. They have 1.5-3.0V output on RCAs which is terrible but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you as this is standard output power for any Chinese Android HU.

Good to know! I don’t plan on running any external amps. My loud music days are over so I guess not too concerned about the RCA’s ?
Looks like it is a PX3, 7.1.2, MTCE_XRC_V2.75_1
Hooked it up after a lot of guess work because you know...no instructions. I have a low level hiss which is annoying, each turn of the volume knob gives a audible "thump" even when there is no audio playing, the unit doesn't fit in my vehicle unless the wifi antenna is NOT plugged in, and I can't seem to get BT audio to play.
I didn't have a ton of time to play today but I will tomorrow. Not sure if I have some interference with the wires in the back or if this is just par for the course and I need to return it and re-order a different unit until I get one that works the way I want it to.
hello all, new here although i have ready many posts.
I have posted in another forum about head units, i have a Ford Focus 08 model so have joined the ford owners club forum for advice but i think some of my issues would be best answered in a place like this.
I have recieved some good feedback but i think i may have exhausted them with particular units.
I seem to have found some answers to my original post but have now dwindled my choice down to 3 so i need more help if at all possible...
so my post today was about how i have come to the choice of these 3..
XTRONS TE103AP
or
EONON GA2168
or
EONON GA2168k
The XTRONS is the top spec i can find on a 10" screen which could be overkill for my focus but it looks great in some vids i have seen, its also the only 10" that has 4gb RAM and 32gb ROM with octacore and Android 8.0 which was reccomended above so it has pretty much got me. the screen is detachable although slightly more longwinded to take off than some pumpkin and eonon models of similar size that i found. Also being black friday/cyber monday weekend i could get it with a fair whack off the price (£240ish on their site). My only worry is it doesnt look like it comes with the CANBUS adapter, i also am not too familiar with what that even is, is it just for steering wheel controls (which i dont have) or is it for the stalk aswell?
As for the EONON GA2168, that screen is better detachable and is also octacore however it is only Android 7.1 (is that a major difference?) its also only 2gb RAM and not 4 (again not too sure about this, would a car stereo really benefit from more than 2gb? This also doesnt seem to come with the CANBUS adapter but does come with a free rear cam or dash cam and is £247
And finally the EONON GA2168K which is very simlar obviously but is only 16gb ROM and again 2gb RAM but this time with Android 8.1 but only quadcore processor without CANBUS and also comes with free cam of my choice and is cheaper at £217
Both XTRONS and EONON offer similar spec stereos that will fit right into my hole that are only 7" however but do for some reason come with CANBUS decoder/box (is that the same thing?)
So im swaying toward the XTRONS, better spec and all that but will i need to but this CANBUS thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated, sorry this was a bit longwinded but i have spent many hours now researching/spreadsheeting/doing my missus head in with all this now and want to purchase while these deals and offers are on. Hopefully some of you may have experience here.
Thanks in advance for any input :good:
understandably i cant post links to the actual units or my original thread on the owners club but hopefully some of you will know which units i am refering to. Thanks
I have the ga2168k from Eonon...
Had it only a short time now but so far I love it.
Now, I'm using it as a daily driver in a Ford f550 superduty.... not entering it into a show...going to car club gatherings or anything of the sort. I wanted it because I needed GPS, hands free calling and that 10.1 BIG display just fits a Ford F550 well as it is a lot of truck.
Perhaps the more memory one may be better for you if you are watching things on it... or doing some crazy things with it... for a simpleton like myself, it's perfect.
Which did you go for in the end?
Im pretty much in the same position as you, torn between which 10.1 to go with... Pushing slightly more towards the Eonon GA2168K

I just installed a GA2168K yesterday in my 2006 GTO.
One thing I noticed in the included harness adapter is they have constant battery power and accessory power swapped.
Installed it with their R0008 dash cam that came with it. No DVR app. Finally found the main config menu (hidden by password 8888) and enabled DVR.
It does not detect the camera. it was working fine with my GA2170. Went to their website and was looking to see if they had a different camera available, and that is the only one. However, on the R0008 camera product page it gives a list of HU's it isn't compatible with, and the GA2168K is one of those. Sent support an email, hopefully will have an answer Monday on that. The other frustration is that half the settings they show in the user manual and online, aren't showing up in the actual menu's. Hoping they can send me a newer Firmware/OS that enables those... And finally, there is no seperate control for subwoofer like there was in the GA2170 Looks like I need to buy the remote amp level control and run a new cable to the trunk
Another issue... It is advertised as having 18 FM presets and 12 AM. It only allows me to store 6 of each...
Dears,
anybody tried Eonon GA2178 - 10" Android 9 Head Unit?
I'm actually on Eonon GA2168K - 10" Android 8 Head Unit, it's a good device with minor problems.
Anytime developers fix a problem they introduce an other problem and there's no community support for MTK chipsets.
Because of this I'm evaluating the new Eonon GA2178, that is quite similar but based on Rockchip chipset.
Tks!
