By error, I partitioned my Internal SD Card or emmc with 4096 partition size in the CWM >> Advanced
Now, everything still works fine though at boot, it gives me a list of options and still continues to boot. But after booting, the ROM gives me touchscreen troubles and I'm unable to use the softkeys below (appears like the touchscreen calibration has gone kaput)
I wiped full data and tried re-installing but it still shows the same error. Can anyone throw light on this problem and how to rectify?

How do I go about doing that? Through Windows or Mac or CWM?
You need to flash a splash.img and you will need to reflash pds.img

Never heard of anyone trying this his touch screen problems are due to the pds partition getting messed up so now he can google pds partition fix and download the latest version for whatever version of android he is running.

Do it from the in-built settings.
Then do it in the recovery.
If you have a custom recovery you can just format /sdcard.

No! If you want to flash a ROM you only need to format...
/system
/data
/cache
/dalvik-cache (Or just "Wipe Dalvik Cache")
/internal-sd or /sdcard
Don't touch anything else!

Any problems you face you won't get much useful help, no one would even want to format those partitions.

Edit* Ok, No thanks actually,
BUt it seems to still be working - just put 5.0 Rom on the old HK note 3 and it worked a charm
***edit:
No, it wasn't! Wifi and modem was messed up.
I guess if anyone does the same thing as me, they can simply just re-install original firmware and that solves any drama.
To get it to work I simply went back to HK firmware (which was an annoyingly slow download using a vpn to get past the Great Fire wall of China) - This firmware thing used to be a big deal - but not so much anymore now that there actually is a downloadable firmware for the HK 4.4.2 bootloader. Why it took them a year to get it out is almost criminal. Anyway, Just reinstalled using ODIN, unlocked and flashed CWM.
Simple as that - No worries. I'm guessing anyone with as much experience who was being helpful could have advised to do this.

Try this tutorial. And in the dd command dont mention any partition name. Like dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 of=path_to_your_file.img

It's a very sad news that your pc died. Anyway I have seen that android has two storage blocks. One is mmcblk0 (internal emmc), another is mmcblk1 (external sd). All the partitions are defined in fstab.qcom file inside boot.img. So i thought i will clone the emmc image on the sd card and then edit the fstab file and replace all the partition addresses from emmc to sd card. I dont know if it will work. I just want to try out.

Hi,
ive just followed the flashable oreo TWRP thread in here to test out Oreo.
My device is S8 G950F
link -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...1-10-flashable-oreo-twrp-dump-beta-2-t3703083
After that TWRP didnt recognized my data partition anymore...:crying::crying:
So i installed latest TWRP in Odin again (had 3.1.1 before 3.2.0.0 after) - didnt helped.
Ive done a full restore with odin after i downloaded the firmware via samfirm, this is the exact firmware number ive used:
G950FOXM1AQJ5_CL12401979_QB15459675_REV00_user_low_ship
Still no success
I also tried flashing supersu (2.82) and dm-verifity (v.6.0).
Any ideas?
Is it just the partition table in twrp that needs to be updated or some stupid thing i forgot?
Regards

Ok yeah it'll format whole internal storage.
You need to change the partition type of /data to f2fs and then change it back to ext4. Then two recognize /data again

It's not format.
Go to wipe, advanced wipe, repair or change partitions ,select data, select change partition type, select f2fs slide to continue.
Then do the same with data and change back to ext4.

its not magic you have all option in twrp wipe
I have done this and it works but as soon as i reboot and go back to twrp it doesnt recongize /data am i doing something wrong
after so many tests I discovered that twrp can read and write data only if you flash last supersu beta, magisk and supersu official both doesn't work:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
Does the resize option or file system option wipe internal storage?
I've done a dd of my persist partition in TWRP and backed it up off of the phone. It came out at 64mb. Is this the correct size?
