Any way to relock the bootloader ? - Samsung Galaxy M30s Questions & Answers

I still have 5 months of warranty. I have a Xperia Z3 plus and I have backed up the TA partition keys so I can relock the bootloader if I have to. Is there anything like that for the M30s ?

It's the same process you used to unknown it
Press volume up and down and plug the USB cable in. When the option menu comes up long press volume up

I still haven't unlocked it yet, just making sure if we can revert to locked state. But will I lose my warranty after unlocking the bootloader ? If yes, then relocking the bootloader will be no use ?
Thank-You.

[Q] Unlock bootloader without power button

I have a stock 2012 Nexus 7 Wifi + 3G which (was) on 4.4.4. The power button does not work in the bootloader or when booted up, but I can use it to reset the phone and boot into the bootloader.
I had the bright idea of using the Wugs Toolkit to reflash the factory ROM to see if that would correct the problem. Unfortunately, the bootloader was still locked.... it formatted the partitions but then couldn't write anything back, so now it will only boot into the bootloader. I can't unlock the bootloader because you have to confirm you want to unlock it by pressing the power button, which doesn't work.
Is there any way I can unlock the bootloader without having to do that power button press to confirm it?
Thanks
Ian

re-lock Bootloader

How "lock" or "relock" my samsung SM-T510 bootloader?
im getting annoyed by the message when it boots
I would like to know how to do this as well after flashing stock firmware in Odin, the option to toggle off OEM unlocking is grayed out. Any help would be awesome!

You can't choose the OEM lock until you re-lock the bootloader. You do that the same way you unlocked it. But be warned, it does a factory reset also, which means you have to go through the whole setup proceedure again. BTW, it is unlocking the bootloader that causes the message, not the OEM lock. Also, do you know that you don't have to wait for that message to disappear on it own. If you tap the power button when it appears, it goes away without the delay.

The OEM lock is grayed out. I have factory reset everything. Through Odin and device. I just want the bootloader locked again and reversing this procedure does not work. Not worried about erasing the device I've already downloaded the 2 to 3 hour 2.3GB file I pushed through Odin

Did you actually read my post. OEM and bootloader locks are two entirely different things. When you first unlocked your tablet, there were two steps involved. FIRST, you had to enable developer mode and turn on OEM enable. THEN, you had to unlock the bootloader by holding the proper buttons when powering up. To relock, you have to do that in reverse. First relock the bootloader, using the same buttons you did to unlock, and then, and only then, you can disable OEM. And the second step is optional. You don't have to disable OEM to get rid of the message.
Edit: And "reversing the procedure" does work if you do it right. It is the ONLY way to relock the bootloader and I have done it. So I know it works.
reedit: OK, I just did it again on my T510. Turn the tablet off. Plug the cable into the PC but NOT the tablet. Hold both the vol up and down buttons and then plugin the cable from the PC. When the green screen appears, release the buttons and then press and hold the vol up till the next screen appears. IT WORKS!

No I do NOT mean download/fastboot mode. Go back and research how to UNLOCK the bootloader. IT DOES NOT USE FASTBOOT. You DO NOT use fastboot to unlock Samsung devices. And "factory reset" via Odin is meaningless. You don't use Odin to unlock the bootloader either. BTW, Samsung and most other reputable tablet makers, intentionally make it hard to unlock their devices because it is a serious security risk if you don't know what you are doing. Do you know what you are doing?

I actually do know what I am doing as a matter of fact. I rooted all of our devices in this household including friends and family. Some of them are in my signature. You don't have to be a dbag about someone asking for help. Yes, I read your posts too, even after all your edits. I got it finally so I guess thanks for all of your generous replies to point me in the right direction. Have a nice day!

I apologise for getting snappy but I was starting to get frustrated trying to point out that the OEM lock wasn't the problem and that the "buttons" did work.
Thanks Lewmur
Just wanted to pop on and say thanks lewmur, I was getting sick of not being able to update and singe I bought a Galaxy S9+ I cant root that, might as well keep them both stock and use "altered" apk install files. I was not sure if it was possible to relock the bootloader, now I know lol, so thanks.
I have a TAB S6 running Android 10. Bootloader is unlocked and OEM switch IS NOT grayed out. I went into DL mode and all I saw was the same thing as when I unlocked the TAB in the first place. Anything special I need to do to re-lock this baby.

...Like you said, your instructions do work! But i think folk are getting confused in your last sentence...
..."When the green screen appears, release the buttons and then press and hold the vol up till the next screen appears. IT WORKS!"
with the term " 'hold' the vol up" you use - instead of 'Long Press' the middle Volume button option on the screen!
This method by Long Pressing Volume Up button will get you to the three options screen which asks if you want to lock your Tab...

Re-lock a previously unlocked bootloader on Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019

I'm returning a my tablet which is still under warranty and looking for a way to re-lock the bootloader. All the tutos I find are for unlocking it. Does anyone now the procedure for re-locking it?
Thanks

That is because you re-lock it the same way you unlock it. Be sure to flash the latest stock ROM via Odin before re-locking it. Then, with the tablet off, and the USB cable plugged into the PC only, while holding both vol up and down and plug the cable into the tablet.. When the screen appears, release both buttons and then long press the vol up and you'll get the screen to re-lock.

Can't unlock bootloader

Hi,
I have trouble unlocking my A40. It's 2nd piece I own and the problem is the same.
When I follow the steps from this forum;
Go to Developer Settings and enable "OEM Unlock" option
Power off the device and boot in download mode
In download mode, you will see the long press and volume up option to unlock the bootloader
Unlock the bootloader. That will wipe your device so be sure you made a backup of your data
After bootloader unlock, boot up the phone and make sure it is connected to the internet or it will trigger rmm prenormal
Setup the phone without google account and others
Reboot in download mode and flash the recovery and vbmeta images
Boot to TWRP
Format data in TWRP
Flash the Multidisabler zip
Now you can reboot

I'm stuck at the 3rd point.
I don't see ANY instruction about Volume UP + Power in download mode. Nor FASTBOOT see my device to run actions with it.
What I see is only "Volume down key + power key for more than 7 secs Cancel (restart phone).
And holding Vol UP + Power doesn't do anything.
How to make this work?
Thanks.

You did enable OEM Unlock, correct?
Turn the device completely off, without any cables connected. Keep a USB cable ready that's plugged into your PC.
With the device powered off, hold both Volume buttons, and plug in the USB cable connected to your PC. Do not press Power. You should see a prompt on either a green or blue screen; select the option for Device Unlock Mode.
Finally.
Thank you for making me try for another time

bootloader issue

hey! i have an samsung galaxy j3-j330FN (2017) i couldnt find the 2017 j3 from the forums so i went here but anyway the issue is that the phone is not letting me use custom OS or recovery even tho oem unlocking is enabled it only lets me do it the first time after reflashing stock os and then after power off it says only official roms are allowed to be flashed what could this mean? this phone did work normally before evne with twrp and root but not now? as far as im aware this phone doesnt require the bootloader to be unlocked it just needs it to be allowed according to many tutorials on youtube

1. Tick USB Debugging and OEM Unlock in Developer Mode (OEM has to be ticked to unlock the bootloader)
2. Connect to PC with USB Cable and open Odin
3. Power off and reboot into Download Mode (VOL.DOWN+HOME+POWER)
4. Add twrp.zip to AP tab
where is the unlock process????????????????????
Unplug phone and power off completely. Leave USB cable plugged into computer.
Wait at least 30 seconds
Hold both Volume buttons, do NOT press Power. Plug USB cable into phone.
Phone should start with a prompt. Follow the instructions on the screen for device unlock mode.

Okay...Try holding both Volume buttons + Home, then plug the USB cable in. Again, the phone has to be shut off completely - I do not mean turning off the screen.
If this doesn't work, try holding both Volume buttons + Home, and while holding them press Power until the device turns on.
If that still doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you. If OEM Unlocking is enabled in Developer Options, then one of these key combos should bring up a warning screen that gives you the option to either go into download mode, unlock the device, or cancel.

At this point, the least you could do is at least try what I've suggested, regardless of whether you think it will work. You have nothing to lose. If you're unwilling to try suggestions, there's nothing more that I or anyone else can do for you.

Once again, here's what you should try. OEM Unlocking must be enabled in Developer Options. Do not factory reset. Let me know what results you get with each suggestion. You must start with the device powered completely off.
Hold both Volume buttons, plug in USB cable
Hold both Volume buttons + Home, plug in USB cable
Hold both Volume buttons, press Power
Hold both Volume buttons + Home, press Power
One of these should work.
