3rd party app acess to the ultrawide camera - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi All,
As we know, One Plus 8 pro has a quad-camera setup, however, I can't seem to access any of the other cameras other than the main cameras and the front-facing cameras as a 3rd party developer. Is there any way that we can feedback to Oneplus to properly expose their cameras to the camera2 API?
Thanks

[request] HDR+ with 2x optical zoom

Will It Be possibile to use Google Camera and his mighty HDR+ with our Tele camera (2x optical zoom)? Is there a way to switch between the two cameras and decide to use Wide or tele lens? I'm sure we could get a true and reliable optical zoom in almost all light conditions.
I don't think Google camera supports dual cameras at all and that was most probably the reason why xioami chose to use their own camera apk for this device..
Google Camera doesn't support dual camera. My question is: can we force Google Camera to use only telephoto lens? Can this be done by a magisk or xposed module? We could have two apps, one Google Camera using only 12 megapixel Wide lens and another one using only 12 megapixel telephoto lens.
Cstark27 made a Gcam version that uses Lgv30 Wide angle camera. That's exactly what i was asking. A Gcam using our telephoto lens is possibile! Is there anyone able to do the same for Xiaomi mi a1?

But Cstark write:
NOTE: This is built using info from the LG V30 which has 3 camera ID's:
Camera 0 (back)
Camera 1 (front)
Camera 2 (back (wide angle))
I cannot guarantee success on other devices, especially if the phone does not even report all cameras through the Camera2 API (use Camera2Test app to verify your device info).

Camera2 test, on my Mi A1 report only 2 cameas: Back and front :crying:
Maybe It has to be enabled in build.prop.
Seems that B-S-G is testing a dual camera version of Google camera porting

I hope that this version targeted to a dual camera phone will add support for that specific feature. If Google translation is good they are talking about how to have access to the 2nd camera. Maybe i'm too optimistic?

Installing Google pixel 2 camera software and algorithm in Moto G5 plus

Hi all,
The Moto G5 plus has a rear camera of f/1.7 with 12 MP where as the best camera of Google pixel 2 has f/1.8 with 12.2 MP.
My question is it possible to install the Google AI software, algorithm and coding in the Moto G5 plus? If possible, how? If not, then, what will be the best camera app to use in Moto G5 plus? As the specs are pretty same but the coding, algorithm and software difference is a big deal. May be with the same camera of the G5 plus will take excellent photos using the Google AI software.
May be Im asking question like a fool but because I wanted too know.
In the comparing videos and reviews between Pixel 2 and galaxy S9 I have understood that the google camera software is a special one. With the google algorithm a smartphone may not need two cameras and lower aperture too. The lower aperture of f/2.4 with 8 MB of Pixel 2 does not stop taking best shots than any other phones because of the software. Where as the Moto G5 front camera has f/2.2 with 5 MB. But there are other factors like shutter speed, dual pixel etc. but I want to install the camera app in Pixel into G5 plus.
Can not post the links of specs as Im as new member.
Just install pixel ported camera app by arnova to get better photos nd portrait photos from your moto g5 plus.
First you need to flash a 64bit rom
Because google camera doesnt work on 32bit
And install google camera the ported one by arnova or other version.

AI portrait camera for mi a1

I want to ask xda Devs for why you don't make AI portrait features for mi a1
Which one do you have in mind? There is AI portrait mode already available in GCAM - search XDA to find out how to install and use it.
Ok fine ..but the portrait in gcam port mostly work on human and not work on objects and I was asking for AI algorithm used in MiUi 10 supporting device like mi a1 Chinese version Mi 5X ...
Yeah i need portrait mode in objects too using gcam
That must you request to google, as they develop gcam, the camera from miui 10 or from from mia1 are developed by xiaomi.
Devs here can only port cameras
Why object blurr not work in g cam port ?
It works on human only..

Because blur on objects is from xiaomi cam, and because it have doble cam. They do the effect opticaly. Gcam use algorithm's and are developed only to do on faces. Google don't have natively support for double cams jet, it will come with android p
You can use Lens Blur from the Gcam app to use blur on objects

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 single camera

Is Google camera port use depth sensing camera when we click portrait as it is ported from pixel I don't think it used.So my depth sensing camera is useless on custom rom
Yes it uses single camera not double
I have clicked photo then it convert another photo with portrait effect

Does the Google Pixel camera port use secondary camera lens for portrait mode?

Does anyone know if this port uses the second lens on the Oneplus for portrait depth/bokeh effect? The reason I ask is I'm debating between Oneplus 5 & 5T (due to front facing fingerprint sensor on the 5) but the secondary camera on 5 is f/2.6 compared to f/1.7 on 5T. If this port is not using the second camera, then I do not need to worry about camera differences.

Go with the 5t
To answer your question though, the port only uses both cameras on pie, it can not do so on Oreo
