Hi everyone,
I am wondering if it was possible to hide the "For you" tab on the FireHD8 screen? At least, if we can't remove the tab, hide the weather and the news that appears under this tab?
Also, I would like to know if theres a way to remove/hide or modify the search engine bar?
Thank you all in advance for the help.

You have to change the launcher with Nova Launcher and remove a terrible stuffls using ADB.
Code:
adb shell
//Disable terrible stuffs
//Launcher
pm disable-user com.amazon.firelauncher
//Amazon search
pm disable-user com.amazon.kindle.unifiedSearch

You can replace Amazon Search with a Google search:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox

Just to be sure, will it work with an other launcher than NovaLauncher?
And also, can i disable terrible stuffs as you mentioned on a HD8 7th gen. 5.3.7.0 ?
Thanks again

Find SecLauncher4.apk in system/priv-app. Copy it to anywhere. Suggest to use x-plore(available in playstore). Set it to open apk as zip. Navigate into res/drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi of the file you pulled earlier. Find ic_allapps and ic_allapps_pressed. Replace them with you favourite icons of the same dimension. Then push back the SecLuncher4.apk into system/priv-app using x-plore. If you use root browser need to reset permission to rw-r-r. Reboot

Hi Mate
Just did a bit of research it appears that when you received the kitkat update it changed the options within the touchwiz launcher. They removed the option to hide apps and replaced it with the disable apps options instead. So unfortunately from what im reading you would need a application in order to continue hiding these your apps. The one I mentioned above should have the functionality you need thou.

How did you get it to install? I installed s8 launcher too and now themes won't work. Can't uninstall the update and won't allow me to install the s7 launcher.
Thanks

Just uninstalled update, that worked fine for me
I'm unable to uninstall update on TouchWiz Launcher in Settings>Apps. I only have the 'Force Stop' and 'Disable' options. The .rar file upload in this thread is corrupted. Any thoughts?
Edit: Nevermind, I clicked the three dots in the top right corner, and clicked the 'Uninstall Updates' option.

Is the ability to use ANY search engine to find the answer to such a simple question so hard that you had to create new thread?
I hope this link will be very helpful to you.

Use adb
Use Package Disabler Pro for LG (on Play store)
Not 'deleting' exactly but this is good because you can restore them easily whenever you want to, which is a lifesaver. No PC required!
I need help figuring out how to use the blackedout app for Gmail and other apps. I have the Samsung galaxy s10 plus with latest update and non rooted which is prefer to keep that way.
Anyone on here know how to install their apks? I downloaded a few and tried installing but it wouldn't work. I'd get an install failed message. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this combats my lack of substratum. Thank you.

That's because they are two different apks so you have to uninstall the already installed one to be able to install the modded one

In this case you can't, disabling a system apps such as Gmail will still refuse to overwrite with modified signatures.
You can do it with Youtube Vanced, it uses a different package name that doesn't interfere with the original Youtube, you need a similar solution for your other apps.

Adb uninstalling doesn't uninstall anything, it's just a forced way to disable packages which works on system apps that have the greyed disable button, it won't help in this case.

Yeah brother no dice unfortunately I don't know how to get it working on my S10 Plus sadly, it would have been nice to use black versions of kik FB messenger and duo etc, if this actually was able to work it was a substratum killer in my book.

Have you tried sending a text with just the Crescent Moon emoji? It doesn't matter who you send it to. Your Messenger will then have dark mode in the settings.

Thanks for the help and support brother
